Day five, noon.

A piercing, highest-level alarm suddenly blared across the entire Dragon Kingdom.

"What's going on!" Chi Zhengyang suddenly stood up from his chair and strode to the command screen.

"Elder Chi! The sky... the crack in the sky has changed!" The operator's voice trembled as his fingers frantically typed on the keyboard, bringing up the latest satellite images.

Chi Zhengyang raised his head.

The cracks in the once dark sky were now seeping out a nauseating, bloody light.

In just over ten seconds, the crack that pierced the sky turned a blinding crimson.

The red light fell down irrationally, illuminating the entire world as if it were a giant slaughterhouse.

Buildings, clouds, and even the air were tinged with an eerie red.

No one spoke; the sound of knuckles tapping on the keyboard was exceptionally clear in the command room.

Everyone was glued to the screen.

"The energy level is skyrocketing!" the radar operator roared, his voice cracking. "The detector's going to explode! It's exceeded the threshold! It's exceeded all thresholds!"

On the screen, countless tiny black dots emerged from the blood-red cracks.

This number is more than ten times greater than the total number of the previous few days combined.

These guys are getting serious.

Zoom in on the image.

Leading the group were dozens of monsters of various shapes and sizes, some humanoid, some beast-like, and even some with a metallic-like structure.

They hovered in mid-air, coldly looking down at the city below.

Chi Zhengyang narrowed his eyes.

Not right.

His senses followed the data displayed on the screen, only to discover that none of these dozens of monsters revealed any aura whatsoever.

It's too quiet.

It felt like they were a group of harmless, ordinary people.

But what appears at this moment can be ordinary?

The only explanation is that their strength has exceeded the detection limit of the Dragon Kingdom's existing instruments, and they can even perfectly control energy leakage.

Beyond the Lord level...

Then there can only be one explanation.

King level...

Dozens of them, all at the King level!

Chi Zhengyang's expression instantly turned serious.

No matter how many lord-level vines there are, they would probably be useless against a king-level creature that can completely conceal its aura.

Below the king level, everything is an ant!

The shock on Elder An's face was no less than that on Chi Zhengyang's: "These... are all King-level monsters?"

Old Qian clenched his fists: "So what if it is!"

"If anyone dares to set foot on the territory of the Dragon Kingdom, even the Heavenly King himself will be skinned alive."

"Order the entire army to prepare for combat at level one." Chi Zhengyang tried to keep his voice steady: "Disarm all strategic weapons."

Such a large number of King-level beings exceeded everyone's imagination!

"Elder Chi, they...they're landing!"

In the scene, the dozens of monsters, without any aura leaking out, began to slowly descend.

Chi Zhengyang's gaze swept across the screen.

Those monsters seemed extremely arrogant, making no effort to conceal their presence.

But his gaze didn't linger on the leading monsters for long; instead, it passed directly through the layers of targets in front and locked onto a rather inconspicuous figure in the back.

It was a skeleton.

His entire body had no flesh or blood, only crystal-clear golden bones.

It hovered quietly at the very back of the dozens of monsters, not even glancing down, but simply fiddling with its skeletal fingers.

Others might not notice this guy at the back, but Chi Zhengyang's gaze was fixed on him.

Even through the screen, that golden skeleton exuded a deadly aura that made him extremely dangerous.

That posture, that bone color.

A cold smile slowly curved Chi Zhengyang's lips as he softly uttered the name:

"Bone King?!"

Chi Zhengyang pronounced the words "Bone King".

Old An and Old Qian walked quickly to the main control panel and stared intently at the golden skull exuding an aura of death on the edge of the screen.

"It really is him!" Old An said through gritted teeth, his voice dry.

Old Qian clenched his fists so tightly they cracked: "Even a monster of the Bone King's caliber can only be relegated to the back among these guys, obediently standing at the very end."

"Just how strong are those guys leading the way?"

Chi Zhengyang remained silent, his gaze rapidly moving across the screen.

Dozens of king-level creatures that can completely conceal their aura, any one of them could tear the Dragon Kingdom's current defenses to shreds, let alone so many gathered together.

On the screen, before the figures suspended in mid-air had even truly landed, a deafening sound exploded without warning across the entire Dragon Kingdom.

This is not a physical sound produced by the vibration of the vocal cords, but a kind of mental energy resonance that directly and forcibly enters the mind.

"I don't have time to waste with you."

"Hand over the treasure, and we'll spare your lives!"

His tone was condescending and chillingly cold.

The sound pierced through space and echoed in the minds of every Chinese person.

In a muddy trench in the Southern Theater Command.

A young soldier, covered in blood, wiped the mud from his face and turned to his veteran sergeant: "Sergeant, what is this 'treasure' they're talking about?"

"To hell with what they are!" The old sergeant spat out a mouthful of blood-tinged saliva, gripping his battle knife tightly. "You can believe what monsters say? How many of us did these beasts kill when they first arrived?! How could they possibly let us go?!"

Inside the underground shelter, the huddled people whispered amongst themselves, their faces filled with barely suppressed anger.

"Absolutely must not be given this!"

"That's right, if this treasure really exists, we must never hand it over, even if it means death! Once we do, we'll truly have no way out!"

Nobody's being stupid.

Everyone understands the simplest truth: when a wolf asks you to drop the stick, it's not to make peace with you, but to make it easier for it to bite you.

Inside the command center.

The phrase "hand over the most precious treasure" not only sparked heated discussions among the public outside, but also caused a brief silence among the senior officials in the command center.

Chi Zhengyang turned his head and exchanged glances with Elder An and the others.

The five of them were thinking very quickly.

In this post-apocalyptic wasteland, what could be so powerful that dozens of king-level monsters would risk everything to cross the rift and descend upon it, and even the Bone King would have to make a trip for them?

grocery store!

That general store that appeared out of nowhere, offering an endless supply of magical items.

Only Lin Mo, and only that shop, deserve the title of "treasure".

Chi Zhengyang gave a cold laugh.

Pay? How could I possibly pay?

The general store is the greatest source of confidence for all the people of the Dragon Kingdom to survive.

High in the sky, at the head of that group of king-level creatures.

A monster floated silently.

He has a human torso and limbs, a rugged face, and a pair of enormous eagle wings with a wingspan of over ten meters spread out behind him.

Every feather on its wings shimmered with a dark golden metallic luster.
