He then changed the subject: "They'll be resting in the temple tonight, and nothing will happen. If you want to join in the fun later, the real excitement will begin tomorrow when they enter the city to exchange the official documents."

"Shall we go see it tomorrow?"

"Whatever you want." Nezha released her hand, stood up, and said, "Let's go home tonight."

"Go back where? Trapped Sky Mountain?" Bai Yeying also stood up.

Nezha didn't answer, but instead spun his Wind Fire Wheels and reached out his hand to her.

Bai Yeying immediately placed her hand on it, and with a gentle pull, she landed on the Wind and Fire Wheels, standing beside him. This time, she didn't try to jump onto his head again, but simply stood obediently next to him.

The crimson rainbow pierced the sky, but instead of flying towards the distant Trapped Sky Mountain, it landed in front of a Zen temple with bamboo groves and flowing water behind Baolin Zen Temple.

Nezha put away his Wind Fire Wheels, walked to the gate of the Zen temple, pushed open the door, and said to her, "I'll rest here tonight."

Bai Yeying was taken aback for a moment, then a sweet feeling spread through her heart. Was he deliberately staying nearby with her so she could continue watching the excitement tomorrow?

She walked into the meditation room, sat down on the stool, and couldn't help but smile.

Nezha sat cross-legged on the bed in the meditation room, closed his eyes, and seemed to be preparing to regulate his breathing.

Seeing his expression, Bai Yeying stepped forward and sat cross-legged beside him, trying to calm herself. But she couldn't calm down no matter what she did.

She secretly opened one eye and peeked at the boy next to her.

The moonlight streaming through the window fell on his face, outlining his profile. His long eyelashes drooped, casting shadows beneath his eyelids, and the mark on his forehead seemed to soften, making him appear serene and beautiful.

It's so beautiful!

Bai Yeying sighed inwardly. She was a million times more beautiful than all the other celestial actors she had ever seen on television combined!

Perhaps it was because her gaze was too direct, but Nezha's eyelashes trembled and he opened his eyes.

Eyes facing each other.

Caught red-handed, Bai Yeying blushed and quickly looked away, glancing out the window in an attempt to cover her tracks: "The moon is so round tonight!"

Nezha looked at her slightly reddened ears, a smile in his eyes. He didn't expose her, and looked up at the window.

"Um."

The two sat quietly, listening to the rustling of bamboo leaves. The night breeze carried the unique fragrance of the mountain forest and the lotus scent emanating from the young man, which gradually calmed Bai Yeying's heart.

After an unknown amount of time, Bai Yeying suddenly remembered something, took out a small cloth bag from her sleeve, and handed it to Nezha: "Third Prince, here you go."

Nezha lowered his eyes: "What is it now?"

"These are candied plums, I made them myself." Bai Yeying opened the cloth bag, and a sweet and sour aroma wafted out. "You can suck on one when you're on the road or when you have nothing to do."

Nezha looked at the plums covered in sugar frosting in the bag, then at her expectant eyes, picked one up, and put it in his mouth.

The sweet and sour flavor melted on the tip of the tongue. The taste was surprisingly good.

"Not bad," he gave his usual assessment.

Bai Yeying was already satisfied. She smiled and ate one herself, then carefully tied the bag and stuffed it into his hand: "It's all yours, I have more."

Nezha held the bag of plums, still warm from her palm, without saying a word, and simply put it away.

The night grew deeper and quieter.

Bai Yeying yawned, her body unconsciously leaning closer to the warmth. The Hun Tian Ling seemed to sense her drowsiness; a flash of red light transformed it into a red ribbon, which gently rolled up and gathered around her side, like a silent barrier.

Nezha closed his eyes, as if he hadn't seen what was happening. But when Bai Yeying's head started to nod and she finally couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed, he reached out his hand.

With a gentle touch of her palm, a soft force slowly laid her on her side on the Hun Tian Ling (a magical sash), without waking her.

The boy withdrew his hand, his gaze falling on her sleeping face. Gone was the liveliness and energy of the day; now her features were gentle, her breathing even, making her appear exceptionally well-behaved and harmless.

He looked for a while before closing his eyes again.

Silent all night.

The next morning, Bai Yeying was awakened by the chirping of birds in the forest.

She rubbed her eyes, sat up, and found herself covered with a red outer robe, carrying the scent of lotus and exuding warmth. It was Nezha's.

She got up, folded her red robe, went outside the meditation room, and saw him.

Nezha was squatting by the stream, washing his face with the water. The morning light danced on his water-drenched profile, making him look alert and sharp, like a sword drawn from its sheath.

"Awake? Pack your things, it's time to go."

Bai Yeying quickly ran forward and handed the red robe to him, saying, "Here you go, thank you."

Nezha took it and casually put it on.

Before the morning mist had even dissipated, there was already activity in the Zen temple.

Bai Yeying sneaked forward and pricked up her ears, listening to the loud voice of Zhu Bajie and the low-voiced dissuasion of Sha Wujing coming from the Zen temple.

"Something seems to be wrong?" Bai Yeying, chewing on a piece of fruit, looked at Nezha. "Should I go check?"

Nezha looked up at her, his eyes clearly saying, "I knew you couldn't stay still."

He said casually, "Last night, in the latter half of the night, the King of Wuji Kingdom appeared in Tang Sanzang's dream and pleaded his case. Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie went to the octagonal glazed well in the imperial garden and carried the king's body back."

"Huh? You brought it back? I didn't hear anything last night!" She was a little annoyed; she had slept too soundly last night.

"It wasn't a big commotion, and you were fast asleep." Nezha's tone was indifferent, revealing no emotion. "Go if you want, and see how that monkey causes trouble."

"And what about you?" Bai Yeying stood up and patted her skirt.

"I'm not interested." Nezha turned his gaze to the swaying bamboo shadows, looking completely disinterested.

He really wasn't interested in the grudges and entanglements of these mortal emperors, or the drama of resurrection. He'd rather spend that time recuperating, or watching her... watching her run around and join in the fun.

Seeing that he really didn't want to move, Bai Yeying didn't force him. Anyway, the Hun Tian Ling was on her wrist, and she could sense if anything happened. She waved to Nezha, and with a light flash, she transformed into a silver light and headed familiarly towards the Zen temple where Tang Sanzang and his disciples lived.

Inside the monastery, the king's body was placed on a makeshift wooden plank covered with a white cloth. Although it had been soaked in well water for many years, his face still faintly revealed his former majesty, but he was lifeless and exuded a deep sense of death.

Tang Sanzang sat to one side, his eyes closed, fiddling with his prayer beads, chanting scriptures in a low voice, his brows furrowed with compassion.

Sha Wujing stood silently by his master's side, watching.

Pigsy circled the corpse, poking the king's face and squeezing his stiff hands, muttering, "It's all soaked and turned white, can it still be saved? Monkey King, really, taking on such a delicate task. I, Old Pig, was exhausted last night."

Bai Yeying silently landed on the courtyard wall, transforming back into human form, just in time to see Zhu Bajie in this state. She jumped down from the wall and curiously approached, "Marshal Tianpeng, what are you looking at?"

Pigsy was startled by the sudden sound. Seeing it was her, he patted his chest and said, "Hey, little white mouse, you walk so quietly! You scared this old pig half to death! What else could you be looking at but dead people? Brother Monkey insisted on carrying them back, saying he could save them. Now, he's gone to find a way."

"Where is the Great Sage?" Bai Yeying looked around but couldn't see Sun Wukong.

"He went to ask Laozi for the elixir of immortality!" Pigsy scoffed. "That old man is incredibly stingy. Monkey King will probably have to haggle for ages, and might even have to fight to get it. Hehe, but I, Old Pig, think it's unlikely. He's been dead for years; what elixir could bring him back to life?"

As they were talking, Bai Yeying suddenly felt a slight warmth on the red string on her wrist, and a pulling sensation came from the direction that was not the Zen temple where Nezha was, but towards the eastern horizon.
