After transmigrating into the body of the Jade Rat Spirit, I became Nezha's adopted sister.
Chapter 57: This is an important plot point!
This thought caused Nezha to pause for a moment as he stepped into the cave.
Bai Yeying was so engrossed in her embroidery that she didn't notice someone approaching immediately. It wasn't until a red hem of her dress caught her eye out of the corner of her eye that she snapped out of it, her hand trembling so much that she almost pricked herself with the needle.
"Ah!" she exclaimed softly, almost instinctively hiding the half-embroidered purse behind her back, and stood up abruptly.
I looked up and met those beautiful phoenix eyes that were slightly narrowed.
Bai Yeying looked away, her ears turning blush.
"Third Prince!" Her eyes darted around, avoiding his gaze. "Why are you here?"
Nezha didn't answer immediately. He looked at her hands hidden behind her back, and then at her face, which was filled with guilt and embarrassment.
The boy raised his eyebrows slightly, a smile playing in his eyes.
"What?" He crossed his arms and took a leisurely step forward, his voice clear and drawn out, "This cave dwelling, is it not for me, the Crown Prince, to enter? Or is it..."
He paused deliberately, his gaze sweeping meaningfully over the hand she was using to hide something: "What shady stuff are you doing behind my back?"
"No way!" Bai Yeying immediately retorted, her voice rising slightly with anxiety. Then, realizing she had overreacted, she quickly lowered her voice and muttered softly, "It's just... it's just something I was doing for fun."
Her voice grew softer and softer as she spoke, and her head drooped even lower, as if she wanted to bury her entire face in her collar.
God knows why she suddenly decided to learn this! And she got caught red-handed! So embarrassing!
Nezha smiled as he looked at her, who seemed to want to dig a hole and disappear.
He suddenly became curious about what exactly that thing she had hidden behind her back, something she had casually embroidered for fun.
"Is that so?" His tone was unreadable, and he took another step closer.
The distance between them suddenly shortened, and Bai Yeying could smell the lotus fragrance emanating from him. Her heart pounded like a drum, and she subconsciously took a step back.
Nezha stopped in front of her and lowered his head slightly. From this angle, he could see her trembling eyelashes and her lips pursed in nervousness.
"Let me see it." He held out his hand, palm up, in front of her.
Bai Yeying shook her head, pulling her hand hiding the purse even tighter behind her back: "No! It's not finished embroidering yet! It looks awful!"
"Ugly?" Nezha raised an eyebrow, deliberately looking her up and down. "Can anything you embroider be uglier than that jade fish from last time?"
Bai Yeying: ".............."
She was speechless, staring at him with wide eyes, feeling both ashamed and angry.
Seeing her like this, Nezha felt a mischievous urge to have his way. He stopped pressuring her, withdrew his hand, crossed his arms again, and resumed his lazy posture.
"Alright, then stay hidden. It's getting boring with you cooped up in the cave. There's a lively place on the journey west; I'll take you there."
The topic changed so quickly that Bai Yeying didn't react for a moment and blankly said, "Huh?"
"What do you mean, 'huh'?" Nezha glanced at her sideways. "Fine, don't go then."
"Go away!" Bai Yeying immediately forgot her earlier embarrassment, her eyes lighting up as she took a half-step forward. "What's all the commotion? Where is it? Shall we go now?"
Seeing her instantly regain her energy, Nezha let out a soft hum through his nose as a response.
"Pack your things away." He pointed to the things in her hands. "Don't bring any useless stuff."
"Oh, oh!" Bai Yeying quickly stuffed the half-finished purse into her bosom. The movement was so fast that Nezha only caught a glimpse of blue.
After doing all that, she gazed longingly at Nezha, her face beaming with undisguised joy: "Alright! Let's go!"
Looking into her bright eyes, Nezha suddenly felt that taking her to see the excitement was not a bad decision.
He said no more, and the Hun Tian Ling (a magical ribbon) spontaneously extended and wrapped around Bai Yeying's waist.
"I'm gone."
A crimson light rose up, swept out of the cave, and sped toward the western horizon.
The wind whistled in her ears, and the clouds were quickly torn apart. Bai Yeying, wrapped in the Hun Tian Ling, curiously gazed at the rapidly rushing mountains and rivers below.
"Third Prince, where are we going? Which section of the journey west are we on? Are we almost at Gao Village?"
Nezha glanced at her sideways, but instead of answering directly, he said, "You seem to know quite a lot."
Bai Yeying chuckled, somewhat smugly: "Of course, I did my research!" Actually, she was too embarrassed to say that this was purely her knowledge from before she transmigrated.
"You'll know when we get there," Nezha said, still keeping everyone in suspense.
Not long after they flew, a manor appeared below, with black tiles and white walls, and wisps of smoke rising from its chimneys—this was Gao Lao Zhuang. At that moment, there seemed to be some commotion inside; the sounds of gongs, drums, and shouts could be faintly heard.
Nezha landed on a densely wooded hillside several miles away from the village and removed the Hun Tian Ling (a magical ribbon).
"Watch from here," he said, then found a rock to sit on, looking ready to watch the show.
Bai Yeying quickly went over, squatted down next to him, parted the branches and leaves of the bushes in front of her, and looked towards the direction of Gao Laozhuang.
A large crowd had gathered at the entrance of the village, including young men carrying sticks and elderly people and children anxiously looking around.
At the front of the crowd stood an old man with a worried expression; it was none other than Old Master Gao. Beside him, a man who looked like a steward was gesturing and directing the crowd, seemingly making arrangements.
"Are they... about to arrest someone?" Bai Yeying muttered. She moved closer, searching the crowd for any sign of Zhu Bajie.
After looking for a long time, apart from some servants and guards, there was no sign of the pig demon.
"Wait a minute," Bai Yeying scratched her head and whispered to Nezha, "The time and place should be right, so why don't we see that pig... uh, that demon?"
Nezha rested his hands behind his head, leaned back against the rock, and closed his eyes, seemingly uninterested in the noise below.
Hearing Bai Yeying's mutterings, he didn't even lift his eyelids: "What's the rush?"
No sooner had the words been spoken than a deafening roar suddenly erupted from within the manor, like a muffled thunderclap!
"You old man Gao! You promised to take me in as your son-in-law, and I, Old Pig, have done three years of hard work for your family, making your village prosperous and peaceful. Now you're complaining about my ugly appearance? Do you want to go back on your word?"
With that roar, a powerful demonic aura surged into the sky from within the manor! Even though it was several miles away, Bai Yeying could still feel the sheer power of the demonic aura and... well, a hint of resentment and anger at being betrayed?
Inside Gao Lao Zhuang, a large, fat figure suddenly crashed through the backyard wall and shot into the sky!
The man had a human body and a pig's head, a long nose and big ears. He wore a brocade robe, had a big belly, and carried a nine-toothed rake in his hand. It was none other than Zhu Ganglie!
He hovered in mid-air, his large eyes glaring angrily at the panicked crowd below, especially the pale-faced old man, Gao Taigong.
"If you don't hand over Miss Cuilan today so she can marry me, Old Pig, I'll tear down your entire estate and leave no one alive!"
Zhu Ganglie's voice was as loud as a bell. With a swing of his rake, a foul wind was stirred up, which frightened the crowd below so much that they cried out for their parents and retreated in panic.
"Here he comes!" Bai Yeying's eyes lit up, and she excitedly grabbed Nezha's arm and shook it. "Look! It's him!"
Nezha frowned slightly as she shook him, glanced down at the scene below, then looked at Bai Yeying's excited face, and said in a calm tone, "Is this something to get so excited about?"
"Oh dear, you don't understand!"
Bai Yeying released her grip, her gaze fixed on the scene: "This is an important plot point! The Great Sage should be arriving soon!"
As if to prove her words, a golden streak of light shot out from the distant horizon, arriving above Gao Village in the blink of an eye, facing Zhu Ganglie from afar.
The golden light dissipated, revealing Sun Wukong dressed in monk's robes and holding the golden cudgel!
"Hey! What kind of monster are you, daring to forcibly take women and oppress the innocent here? State your name, or your grandfather will not kill a nameless ghost with his staff!" Sun Wukong stared at Zhu Ganglie with his golden eyes, his voice clear and loud, carrying an innate arrogance.
When Zhu Bajie saw Sun Wukong, he was first taken aback. But when he saw the man clearly and the golden cudgel that he remembered so vividly, his whole body of fat trembled, and fear flashed in his eyes, but he refused to admit defeat.
"Who do we have here? It's you, you wretched monkey! Why aren't you under the Five Elements Mountain? What are you doing here meddling in other people's business? If you know what's good for you, get out of here right now and don't ruin my good time! Otherwise, don't blame me for being blind!"
