After transmigrating into the body of the Jade Rat Spirit, I became Nezha's adopted sister.

They were currently on the edge of a naturally formed underground fissure, dozens of feet below which flowed a not-so-wide river.

That wasn't real water, but rather a stream of spiritual energy formed when the liquefied Geng metal energy became concentrated to a certain degree!

"This is it," Nezha murmured, his gaze sweeping over the Gengjin spiritual stream below, then turning to its depths, to the area shrouded in dense spiritual energy and underground darkness. "The spiritual vein is near the source of this stream. However..."

He frowned slightly, as if sensing something: "That strange thing is also in the direction of the source. Be careful."

Bai Yeying nodded, her heart racing slightly with nervousness.

The strangeness Nezha mentioned made her extremely wary.

Nezha leaped down first, his body as light as a feather, landing on a relatively flat rock beside the Spirit Stream. Bai Yeying followed closely behind.

Just then, something unexpected happened!

From the direction of the source of the spiritual stream, in that darkness, a cracking sound came without warning, as if something had shattered.

Immediately afterwards, a chilling death aura, ten times denser than before, suddenly surged out from the depths of darkness and swept towards their location! Within the death aura, the mournful shrieks of countless vengeful spirits were faintly mixed, chilling to the bone!

This change happened too fast! Caught off guard, Bai Yeying's soul was struck by the shrill shriek, and her vision went black!

"Be careful!"

Nezha reacted much faster than her. The instant the deathly aura surged forth, he stepped forward, blocking Bai Yeying from the source of the aura. He didn't even use his Fire-Tipped Spear; he simply raised his right hand, spread his fingers, and made a light, forward press.

"Buzz—!"

A crimson-gold light burst forth from his palm, condensing into a semi-transparent light shield. The shield radiated a pure and intense heat, a magnificent aura capable of cleansing away all evil spirits!

The chilling death energy collided with the light shield, producing a violent "sizzling" corrosive sound. Black smoke rose, and the wailing of the vengeful spirits became even more mournful, but they could not shake the light shield in the slightest. Instead, they quickly melted away under the illumination of the crimson gold light.

However, this deathly aura seemed to be just the prelude.

From the depths of darkness, the cracking sounds rang out one after another, growing more and more frequent, as if countless chains were breaking.

An aura carrying ancient resentment slowly awakened and began to permeate the entire underground space.

Bai Yeying barely managed to steady herself, hiding behind Nezha, staring in horror into the depths of darkness. The aura she felt was far more terrifying than that of Elder Heisha or any of the great demons that had just fought above!

Nezha's expression also darkened slightly. He stared into the depths of darkness, his beautiful phoenix eyes narrowing slightly, a sharp glint flashing within them.

"Interesting." He murmured, his voice devoid of fear, but rather carrying a chilling intrigue. "The Xuan Yin Sect actually has something like this under its control... No wonder I felt the fire didn't burn thoroughly enough back then."

With a flick of his wrist, the fire-tipped spear was already in his hand.

The spear tip pointed diagonally at the ground, and a crimson flame silently ignited, illuminating the surroundings and dispelling some of the suffocating chill.

"Stay close to me." He turned his head and tossed a sentence to Bai Yeying, "This is not something you can touch. We need to get out of here first."

Bai Yeying nodded vigorously, no longer daring to show any weakness. She gripped the Black Shadow Whip tightly, pressing herself half a step behind Nezha.

Nezha didn't delay any longer. He swung his Fire-Tipped Spear forward, and the crimson-gold spear light tore through the chilling, deathly aura in front of him, opening a path. He led Bai Yeying and quickly retreated towards the cave entrance along the edge of the crevice they had come from.

However, the awakened evil entity did not seem to want them to leave so easily.

"Ugh—!"

A deep, murky roar, as if from the depths of the underworld, suddenly exploded from the darkness! The entire underground space trembled, and dust and rubble fell from above.

Immediately afterwards, several pitch-black tentacles formed from dense death energy and vengeful spirits shot out from the source of the spiritual flow like giant pythons. Their speed was astonishing, instantly blocking their path to the cave entrance. Two of them even went straight for the two of them!

Before the tentacles even reached you, the malice that seemed capable of freezing your soul was already upon you!

Nezha's eyes turned cold, and he brandished his Fire-Tipped Spear, creating layers of crimson flames that protected him and Bai Yeying completely.

The spear's edge collided with the tentacles, unleashing a deafening roar. Black energy and flames scattered in all directions. The tentacles were severed piece by piece, yet they rapidly regenerated with the replenishment of death energy from behind, seemingly endless.

"This thing is a bit troublesome."

While Nezha was defending himself, he still had time to comment, but his impatience was more obvious: "It has been suppressed for countless years, and it is still alive but not dead, with deep resentment... Those fools of the Xuan Yin Sect probably used it as a resource for cultivating evil arts, which only fueled its ferocity."

Bai Yeying, sheltered by the shadowy spears, watched with trepidation. The power of those tentacles was terrifying; each impact caused the crimson-gold flames surrounding Nezha to flicker violently. She knew that with her limited abilities, a single blow would likely be fatal.

"How do we get out?" Her voice was a little dry.

"Shoot it out." Nezha said succinctly, but his hand movements suddenly changed!

No longer passively defending and blocking, he flicked his wrist, and the Fire-Tipped Spear suddenly transformed into a crimson lightning bolt, thrusting unstoppably towards the root of one of the thickest tentacles, the point where the aura of the deepest darkness was most concentrated!

"break!"

A sharp shout!

At the tip of the spear, a burst of crimson-gold light erupted, like a small sun rising from the ground!

Wherever the light passed, the tentacles of death melted like ice and snow, emitting a mournful wail.

The base of the pierced tentacle exploded with a thick cloud of black gas, from which a muffled roar of pain and anger could be faintly heard.

This attack clearly enraged the being in the darkness. More tentacles surged out wildly, deathly energy spread like a tide, and the temperature of the entire underground space plummeted below freezing, even the flow of Gengjin spiritual energy seemed to freeze.

Large chunks of rock began to fall from above, clearly indicating that the structure here was no longer stable.

"Go!" Taking advantage of this opportunity, Nezha pulled Bai Yeying, wrapped his Hun Tian Ling around her waist, and his Wind and Fire Wheels blazed brightly, increasing his speed to the extreme. He transformed into a streak of crimson light, and against the deathly aura and falling rocks, he forcefully charged towards the cave entrance!

Guns clear the way, fire protects the body! Wherever they pass, tentacles shatter, and deathly aura retreats!

Bai Yeying felt the wind whistling in her ears, mixed with the shrieks of vengeful spirits. Light and shadow flashed before her eyes, making it almost impossible to see anything. She could only hold on tightly to the Hun Tian Ling and try to curl up her body within Nezha's protective range.

Just as they were about to rush into the cave entrance, another unexpected event occurred!

From the depths of that darkness, a pair of eyes filled with endless resentment and greed suddenly opened! They locked onto them!

An indescribable suction force suddenly came, not acting on the body, but directly targeting the soul!

Bai Yeying felt as if her soul was being forcibly torn out of her body by those eyes, and the excruciating pain, accompanied by endless despair, instantly overwhelmed her consciousness!

"Hmph!" Nezha snorted coldly, and the crimson mark on his forehead suddenly shone brightly, unleashing an even more magnificent divine soul power that forcefully withstood the soul-absorbing power!

At the same time, he pushed Bai Yeying towards the cave entrance: "Go in!"

Bai Yeying was involuntarily sent into the narrow passage. When she turned around, she saw Nezha with his back to her, holding his Fire-Tipped Spear horizontally. His body was surrounded by a crimson-gold divine light that soared into the sky, like a blazing war god. He stood alone outside the cave entrance, fiercely confronting the pair of scarlet giant eyes and the deathly aura filling the sky!

"Third Prince!" she cried out in disbelief.
