Primordial Era: Starting with Self-Created Mythical Great Luo Law
Chapter 477 Don't risk your life to fill the hole
The sound waves, accompanied by a stench, exploded, sending pebbles tumbling down in a flurry.
"A clown jumping around, dares to challenge me?" Chen Yu sneered, and his right fist suddenly slammed out. Before the fist even arrived, the energy in his fist struck down like thunder.
The tiger's roar was cut short. The tiger didn't even have time to let out a mournful cry before its entire body exploded, spraying blood and foam like mist.
These tigers, though resembling wild beasts, were actually transformed by the yin energy and essence of heaven and earth within the valley, their muscles and bones far surpassing those of ordinary people. Yet Chen Yu's attack clearly hadn't even scratched their core...
"Hmm?" He lowered his brow, his gaze fixed on the lingering bloodstains on the ground.
He bent down to examine the body closely and muttered to himself, "With Yin energy ingrained in his bones, he should be more cunning, more patient, and more adept at ambushes... How could he be so reckless as to willingly throw his life away?"
A thought flashed through his mind—it was an old story from when he first began his cultivation: after killing a demon king who had been entrenched in a valley, the tigers of the entire forest charged at him like madmen, using their claws and teeth, determined to tear him to pieces.
He fought a bloody battle, but eventually collapsed from exhaustion. Just as he was dying, an ancient mark entered his sea of consciousness—tempering his physical body like iron and his magical power surged like a tide. With a backhand, he suppressed and killed all the tigers.
"Something's not right..." He ran his fingertips across the bloodstains. "They didn't attack spontaneously; they were forced out by someone who grabbed their vital points."
He suddenly raised his head and looked at a solitary, low hill in the distance. In a flash, he was already standing on the top of the hill.
A dark blue-green stone tablet lies horizontally atop the hill, its surface inscribed with four lines of ancient seal script:
Through the ages, time flows on, but I alone reign supreme, roaming freely in the heavens.
"The Free and Unfettered Heaven?" Chen Yu's heart skipped a beat, then his pupils contracted slightly. "It really is it!"
The Free and Unfettered Heaven was formed by the collapse and reunification of dozens of ancient blessed lands and grottoes. It contains countless immortal treasures and many lost secrets.
"It seems the rumors were true," he said softly. "But...where exactly is the Yellow Spring Flower hidden?"
He stared intently at the screen for a long time, but still found nothing.
Just then, a chill shot straight to the back of my neck—like being stared at by a venomous snake at my vital spot.
On the edge of a distant cliff stood a woman, dressed in black as ink, her eyes gleaming with a cold, eerie purple light, her gaze burning as if she wanted to skin him alive and devour him whole.
"Who goes there?" Chen Yu turned to the side, secretly forming a talisman in his palm.
"True Lord Ziwei," she said, her voice like ice beads falling onto a jade plate.
"Oh, True Lord Ziwei." Chen Yu nodded slightly. "Chen Yu."
"Chen Yu?" A slight smile played on her lips, but it didn't reach her eyes. "What are you here for?"
"I'm looking for the Yellow Spring Flower." He spoke casually, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
"That flower burns the moment it touches you," she said calmly. "I tried it once, and almost died at its roots. If I hadn't pulled away quickly, the grass on my grave would be three feet tall by now. I advise you to turn back now, don't risk your life to fill a pit."
"I want to leave too," Chen Yu sighed, his voice lowering slightly. "But this is what my master entrusted to me with his last wish, as he held my wrist."
"Your master?" Her eyes flashed sharply, then quickly concealed, leaving only indifference. "If that's the case, go. I won't stop you. But if you die beneath these flowers, don't blame me for not throwing cold water on you."
Before she finished speaking, her figure had already turned into a wisp of purple smoke and disappeared into the mist.
"Strange... The way she looked at me wasn't like when we first met, but rather like she had harbored resentment for ten years." Chen Yu shook his head, but didn't stop. He turned and headed towards the darkest part of the dense forest, walking steadily towards it.
The mountains and forests are lush and verdant, with ancient trees reaching for the sky, their branches and trunks twisted and gnarled as if cast in iron.
The vines grew wildly, coiling and twisting like countless black-scaled pythons strangling upwards, tightly binding the entire mountain.
The moment Chen Yu stepped into the forest, the Yin energy surged forth like a raging torrent, crashing down on him. A bronze talisman at his waist hummed and vibrated slightly, emitting a pale blue halo that forcefully kept the bone-chilling cold current at bay.
But the Yin energy did not retreat; instead, it surged and churned, like a horde of starving, rotting corpses, howling and swirling around him, tearing at his breath with its claws and teeth. Chen Yu's throat tightened, his legs trembled uncontrollably, and beads of sweat covered his forehead, rolling down his temples.
Black, sticky fluid seeped from beneath the skin, crawling slowly like a living thing. Wherever it passed, the flesh dented slightly, emitting a putrid stench reminiscent of the depths of a morgue, assaulting the senses.
He felt a chill run down his spine, and immediately held his breath and focused his mind, channeling the power in his dantian upwards.
A burst of golden light suddenly shot out, like molten gold being poured, forming a layer of flowing light armor on the body surface, tightly wrapping the entire body.
But the Yin energy seemed to possess sentience, specifically targeting the weakest points in the armor to gnaw at them—hissing and sparks flying.
Chen Yu felt as if his limbs were weighed down by lead and mercury, and his chest felt tight, as if the ground beneath his feet was cracking open, about to drag him into an abyss of no return.
Just then, a clear and melodious bell rang out!
Before the figure arrived, the sword wind preceded it. The woman in white was already standing beside him, her sleeves fluttering, her jade sword lightly raised, its clear light overflowing like water. Wherever it shone, the Yin energy, like snow meeting the blazing sun, hissed and scattered in retreat.
"Chen Yu, you can't hold on any longer." Her voice was clear, but it contained an undeniable anxiety.
Chen Yu felt a surge of warmth in his heart. He turned his head to look, and there he saw that the eyebrows, the eyes, and the demeanor were none other than the Purple Star True Lord.
"True Lord Ziwei, why... have you come here?" His voice was slightly hoarse.
A slight smile played on her lips as she lightly touched the air with the tip of her sword, a silver arc flashing across the sky: "Not to save you, but to protect this carefree realm from falling into evil. If you were to lie dead here, you would not receive the Yellow Springs Flower, and the world would only be burdened with more misfortune."
Chen Yu choked up, nodded silently, then focused his energy and quietly clenched a fire-patterned talisman in his palm.
The two stood side by side, their sword light and talisman fire reflecting each other brilliantly, finally regaining their footing.
As the malevolent energy receded like a tide, they parted the hanging withered vines and continued their advance into the heart of the dense forest, searching for the faint scent of the Yellow Spring Flower.
Along the way, miasma surged, the earth cracked, and vengeful spirits blocked the path... but the Purple Star True Lord's sword moved like lightning, his plans flawless; Chen Yu gritted his teeth and endured, his steps becoming heavier and more steady. Even though the road ahead was like a mountain of knives and a sea of fire, he did not hesitate for even a moment.
Until the end of a deep ravine, a cave entrance suddenly appeared—the cave was pitch black, even the wind seemed to freeze, deathly silent, yet a faint, cool, sweet fragrance emanated from it, the unique scent of the Yellow Spring Flower when it first bloomed.
Ziwei Zhenjun closed his five fingers, the sword humming softly; a small blue flame ignited at Chen Yu's fingertips, illuminating his taut jawline. They knew that the real trial had only just begun.
……
Looking south to Buzhou, the heart of the Demon Realm.
At the summit of the cliff amidst the sea of clouds, two colossal shadows, obscuring the sky and blocking out the sun, stand silently—on the left is the Golden-Winged Roc with its golden feathers gleaming and wings tearing through the air, and on the right is the Nine Netherworld Python with its gleaming scales and breathing out the netherworld.
"roar--!"
Suddenly, a furious roar like tearing silk shook the mountains for miles around, causing stone dust to scatter! The Zhu Yan, with its raging crimson flames, smashed through the clouds, carrying the force of burning the heavens straight to the starry sky, and disappeared into the chaotic sea of clouds in the blink of an eye.
Almost simultaneously, the sky darkened abruptly, demonic energy splashed like ink, and a towering, illusory image of a demon god appeared in mid-air, with menacing fangs and eight arms waving.
The Thousand-Winged Heavenly Centipede hissed like thunder, its thousand legs thrashing together, stirring up a black storm as it pursued the enemy, its tail leaving a pale, tearing crack in the sky.
