Emergency room doctor's office.

Fang Hang was on the day shift in the emergency observation room today, and he was getting ready to go home.

"Junior, I remember you have to participate in the second round of the electrocardiogram competition this weekend, right? How's your preparation going?"

Zhou Cheng was taken aback by Fang Hang's sudden question.

During the few days he was suspended from work, he hardly thought about the hospital, and naturally forgot about the electrocardiogram competition.

"Senior brother, if you hadn't asked me today, I would have completely forgotten." Zhou Cheng smiled. "I haven't studied much, so I'll just have to rely on luck."

Fang Hang smiled and patted him on the shoulder, "You can do it. There are still a few days until the re-examination, right? Study hard, we all believe in you."

Zhou Cheng didn't say anything. He was determined to do his best in the competition to get a good ranking and earn some living expenses.

The system's 20 million reward seems wonderful, but for now, we can only look on with envy.

"Senior brother, let's go to the cafeteria together for lunch?" Zhou Cheng invited.

"Okay." Fang Hang finished completing his medical records and left with Zhou Cheng.

As for Chen Xi and Li Yang, Zhou Cheng invited them to go to the cafeteria together, but they said they didn't want to eat there and had already ordered takeout.

They needed to familiarize themselves with the medical order system, so they stayed in the department to continue working.

Seeing this, Zhou Cheng didn't insist.

……

The food in the cafeteria remained the same; the taste was as good as ever, not bad, but it was hard to whet anyone's appetite.

It's understandable that Chen Xi and Li Yang ordered takeout.

The two got their food and found an empty seat in the cafeteria.

"Junior brother, do you remember when I told you about putting your name on the paper?" Fang Hang suddenly said.

Zhou Cheng nodded. Fang Hang had mentioned it to him once before he was suspended from his post.

"Senior, if it's too much trouble, then forget it, so as not to delay your paper publication schedule. I don't care whether I need the paper now or not!"

Fang Hang smiled and said, "It's no trouble at all. I just need your email address now. Send it to me when you have time."

"Okay." Zhou Cheng nodded. "I'll send you one when I have time."

It seems that Fang Hang's paper is almost finished. Now he needs email addresses, which is actually the contact information for each author when submitting the manuscript.

"Let's eat outside the hospital next time." Fang Hang ate a few bites of rice, feeling that it was hardly oily at all.

"Sure, senior, I'll treat you next time." Zhou Cheng smiled, "After I win the electrocardiogram competition."

"Then I'll wait."

……

After dinner, Fang Hang went back to his dormitory to rest, while Zhou Cheng thought he still had some time before going to work in the afternoon, so he decided to go back to his rented room to take a nap.

Upon opening the door to the rented apartment, Zhou Cheng immediately saw Lin Wei sitting on the sofa, holding a laptop and seemingly reading some kind of document.

Zhou Cheng closed the door quietly, but it still made Lin Wei look up: "You're back? Just got off work?"

"Yeah, I had lunch in the cafeteria and came back to rest for a bit before heading back to work this afternoon." Zhou Cheng changed his shoes, walked to the center of the living room, and looked at Lin Wei. "By the way, thanks for that video."

Lin Wei waved her hand gently: "It's nothing. If it weren't for you, I might have had to stay in a hotel these past few days, which would have been so inconvenient. This is a case of helping each other out."

"I must thank you. I'll treat you and Su Yi to dinner sometime."

Although the clarification video disrupted Zhou Cheng's plans, he also knew that Lin Wei and Su Yi's intentions were for his benefit.

"The fact that you were able to successfully return to your posts and turn public opinion around is all thanks to you and Su Yi running around. You contacted patients, coordinated filming, and compiled so much evidence; you must have put in a lot of effort. Otherwise, you really might have been fired by the hospital."

However, when Zhou Cheng mentioned being fired, there was no trace of grievance in his tone; instead, there was a hint of regret that was barely perceptible.

Lin Wei didn't detect this emotion and simply smiled, "I appreciate your thanks, but I'll skip the meal."

The two chatted casually.

Zhou Cheng had originally planned to go to his room to sleep, but now he felt that this moment of leisure was precious, so he sat for a while longer.

"I need to go take a nap; I have work to do this afternoon. If you need any help in the future, just let me know."

Hearing this, Lin Wei looked at Zhou Cheng again, hesitated for a moment, and then asked, "Zhou Cheng, do you have time tomorrow?"

Zhou Cheng was about to get up and go back to his room when he heard this and stopped in his tracks: "Tomorrow? I'm off tomorrow, what's wrong?"

He's going to make rounds in the emergency room tomorrow, and he can rest after that.

"It's like this," Lin Wei explained, slowing her pace, "I need to go to the laboratory building at the main campus of Jinghua Medical University to discuss something with the supervising professor about the approval of experimental projects."

"I'm not familiar with the layout of the main campus at all. You did your postgraduate studies at Jinghua Medical University, so you must know the area very well. I was wondering if you could come with me tomorrow to see that supervising professor?"

After she finished speaking, her eyes held a hint of expectation, but fearing she might cause Zhou Cheng trouble, she quickly added, "If you have your own plans for tomorrow, that's fine too. I'll ask someone else then."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Cheng quickly made a mental calculation.

He is indeed resting tomorrow. His original plan was to review electrocardiogram-related content at home to prepare for the weekend's game.

Now that Lin Wei is asking for help, it's just a matter of accompanying her to the school to find the teacher, which isn't much of a hassle.

Moreover, he was extremely familiar with the main campus of Jinghua Medical University.

During his three years of graduate studies, he spent almost every day in the library and the laboratory building. He knew the layout of the laboratory building, and even which building had the quietest study rooms and which route was the fastest to the cafeteria.

Thinking of this, Zhou Cheng readily agreed, "No problem. I'll go to the department for rounds tomorrow, and then I'll go with you. It's been a long time since I've been back to the main campus, so I'll just go back for a visit."

Hearing Zhou Cheng agree, Lin Wei smiled and said, "That's great! I'll wait for you at the hospital entrance tomorrow."

Zhou Cheng nodded: "Have you arranged a specific time with that supervising teacher? What time would be suitable for us to leave tomorrow?"

"We've arranged to meet at 10 a.m. tomorrow in an office on the third floor of the lab building," Lin Wei quickly replied. "I checked, and it takes about half an hour by car from here. Adding the walking time, we should be able to leave around 9 a.m.."

"Okay, then we'll leave at nine o'clock tomorrow morning." Zhou Cheng nodded, settling on the time. "I'll wait for you at the hospital entrance after I finish my rounds in the department."

"Okay," Lin Wei replied. "I'll leave it to you tomorrow."

Zhou Cheng smiled and said, "No trouble at all. I'll go back to my room and rest for a while. I have to go to work this afternoon."

After saying that, Zhou Cheng went back to his rented room to sleep.
