Who moved her body?

Chapter 38 Quality? Doesn't exist.

"Is Young Master always in such a good mood?" Guan Jie asked, but he didn't expect to hear an answer.

Inside the security room, five screens displayed surveillance footage of the entrance to the cross-sea bridge, the entrance and exit of the offshore platform, and the section near the barren rock island. Three men, all dressed in suits, sat inside, maintaining the same level of caution as when apprehending a fugitive.

A damp breeze blew up, lifting the security guard's shirt about ten centimeters off, revealing a black object hanging from his belt underneath.

Guan Jie looked away from his peripheral vision and watched the waves slowly push towards the shore.

He knew the tide was about to come in.

"Young Master likes to drive like this."

The security guard didn't move his lips or any other part of his body. His voice was as cold and flat as his.

"Opening the windows on such a hot day, isn't that just making it even hotter?"

Guan Jie asked with a smile, not knowing why, he just wanted to talk to people, without any particular purpose.

The man then ignored Guan Jie's question.

As Xu Haiyang's car approached the entrance, the man stepped forward and called out, "Young Master," then saluted. The automatic entrance door slowly opened behind him.

Xu Haiyang seemed to grunt in response, but the loud volume of the speakers drowned out his perfunctory reply.

Just as Xu Haiyang was about to accelerate, he saw Guan Jie standing inside the door and suddenly braked, turning off the stereo.

"Good lad, you've been wandering around by yourself. Looks like we'll be able to go out and have some fun in less than half a month. Get in the car, I'll take you to the restaurant in the back for dinner."

Xu Haiyang leaned over and pushed the passenger door open. He watched as Guan Jie strode into the car and grinned, saying, "Take it easy, are you sure you can handle this? Don't break your newly healed bones. If you break them a second time, you'll be bedridden for three months, and then your revenge against me will be a long way off."

Guan Jie reached out and closed the door, then pulled on the seatbelt and fastened it, saying, "Don't worry, boss. I know my own body. At most, a week is enough to deal with small fry. But if I run into that big guy from last time, I won't be able to handle it."

"I'll give you half a month to recover properly." Xu Haiyang stepped on the gas and said with a smug grin, "I'm going to teach Chen Kaipiao a lesson then, so that everyone in Huangyan City knows that I, Xu Xiaodao, am not someone to be bullied. Otherwise, everyone will think I'm just a paper tiger, and that anyone can scratch my face."

"I heard from Papaya that the boss won't let you seek revenge on Chen Kaipiao?"

"He won't let me go?" Xu Haiyang gave Guan Jie a sly look, a "you'll have to figure it out" kind of look, and said, "If Chen Kaipiao can get me a private room, can't I get him a basement? Even a sewer will do. Anyway, in this business, you're a big shot while you're alive, all talk and no action, but once you're dead, you're just a rat dropping in the gutter, nobody cares."

Guan Jie nodded.

Xu Haiyang, with a "you're teachable" look on his face, said to Guan Jie, "Everyone on the shore knows that Chen Kaipiao tricked me. She ran away faster than any money-grubbing woman when her man went bankrupt. It made me too ashamed to go to nightclubs for fun. You didn't see it, did you? Those stinky women couldn't shut their big mouths after three drinks. It was like I wouldn't pay them unless I asked how I survived. I almost had to do plastic surgery on all of them."

Xu Haiyang spat.

"If my cousin hadn't forbade it, I would have taken over all the nightclubs on the shore and given those women a good talking-to, teaching them some professional ethics. You can eat whatever you want, since you'll end up pooping it anyway, but you can't say whatever you want, because once it's said, you can't take it back!"

"They're just young people who make a living, they don't have much class, there's no need to get angry with them, it's not worth it," Guan Jie comforted Xu Haiyang.

"Manners? That stuff doesn't exist, brother. Nobody has it." Xu Haiyang glanced at Guan Jie with pity. "If someone wants to insult you, just punch them and they'll shut up. If they don't, it just means your punch wasn't hard enough. Let me tell you, if you're tough enough, everyone will show you this bullshit hypocrisy of manners. But if you're weak, even your own mother can become a tigress. Manners, oh manners, it's just a hypocritical thing where you say one thing to one person and another to another. Anyone who takes it seriously is an idiot."

"It can't be that bad, boss. There's still kindness in the world."

"I can't bear to call you stupid, but you've been to the police station so many times and you still haven't learned your lesson. You're still talking to me about unreliable things like tenderness. If you had even a little bit of a sense of justice, you wouldn't have ended up like this."

Guan Jie poked his hair near his temple with his left hand and chuckled, "I guess I'm just lucky to have met you, boss."

Xu Haiyang let out a "Huh?" and was amused by Guan Jie's words.

"That's true. If it weren't for you protecting Yang Yuhuan, who weighs two hundred pounds, I might have been thrown into the sea to feed the fish by Chen Kaipiao that night. Fine, you can be silly if you want. As long as you protect me wholeheartedly from now on, I will never treat you unfairly."

"Thank you so much, brother!" Guan Jie patted his chest and promised, "Anyone who bullies you in front of me, I'll make them pay double!"

"It's starting to look good, not bad."

Xu Haiyang's car passed through the security gate of the villa area and stopped in the parking lot in front of a glass building.

"This is the canteen for the island's researchers. Sea cucumbers, abalone, lobsters—these are just appetizers here. And then there's your favorite steak. The steaks here are all transported from our own ranch in New Zealand. The cattle there live a much higher standard of living than the average well-off family. They grow up listening to music, drinking mineral water, eating pure, natural, pollution-free organic grass, and getting baths and massages every day." Xu Haiyang closed the car door without locking it and walked to the entrance first, saying, "Today, I'll let you taste what aristocratic steak is like."

This oval-shaped glass building, resembling a prehistoric egg, lies quietly in the grass. From the outside, the walls are a light green curtain wall, but unlike the ubiquitous glass curtain walls in Senhai City, which reflect glaring light whenever the sun comes out, causing what is commonly known as light pollution, the reflected light can affect some people depending on the sun's position, not only being glaring but also causing irritability.

As he climbed five steps, Guan Jie was surprised to find some machines covered with turf at the base of the glass wall. He almost missed them if he hadn't looked carefully.

Guan Jie walked down the steps again, lifted the raised patch of turf, and saw the warning words "Danger of Electricity" underneath.

"We collect solar energy and then convert it into electrical energy, which is how the electricity in this house comes about."

Upon hearing the sound, Guan Jie covered the turf and pressed down the protruding corner firmly.

The man standing on the steps looking down was wearing a white coat. When he saw Guan Jie looking at him, he smiled slightly and then left.

Guan Jie watched the man's retreating figure. At that moment, Xu Haiyang came out and called out to Guan Jie, "Hurry up, the chef will be off work soon."

"They're here."

The man in the white coat took out a card by the small door leading to the research center, and the door then popped open. Guan Jie turned and went up the stairs, and the small door closed firmly behind the man in the white coat.
