Who moved her body?

Chapter 1 Super Partner

Guan Jie shut down his computer, and as he passed the office next door, he patted the glass door and went inside. "I'll leave the signing with President Wang this afternoon to you."

The man typing on the keyboard looked up. His black-rimmed glasses and scholarly face exuded an aura of detached indifference that seemed to see right through him, filling the entire room with his air of superiority.

This man's name is Zhuang Buyi. He is Guan Jie's business partner, his childhood friend from elementary school to high school, and the technical CEO of COOL.

Zhuang Buyi appears mature, composed, and uninteresting, but in reality, true to his name, he isn't without doubts; he simply pretends not to. From a young age, he's constantly puzzled by everything. To resolve the ever-present questions in his head, Zhuang Buyi started dismantling floorboards at the age of three to study their load-bearing capacity. At three and a half, he dug a hole in the wall, and before his mother could notice, half of the wall in their house became a hollow structure. His mother, however, was quite understanding, explaining to the renovation workers that it was fortunate they hadn't dug up a load-bearing wall.

Of course, Zhuang Buyi didn't just focus on research. In short, after completing his research, he also made some outputs. It is said that he invented the eggshell compass when he was in the third grade. The advantage of this compass is that as long as you have an eggshell or anything with the curvature of an eggshell, you can put a magnet inside. It is very accurate, durable, and most importantly, it is easy to carry, so you can even survive in the wilderness without fear.

Zhuang Buyi was an eccentric and unusual person when he was in school. His classmates didn't seem to like someone who was too smart. Whether it was to show that they were normal or to avoid being compared to someone who was too stupid, from the beginning of school, apart from Guan Jie, who grew up in an orphanage, who was willing to be his friend, everyone else seemed to keep their distance from Zhuang Buyi.

After years of silence in their friendship, when Guan Jie decided to start his own business, this childhood friend quit his multi-million dollar annual salary job and came directly to Guan Jie's side. The reason one person would abandon a promising future to start a business with a newcomer, in Zhuang Buyi's words, was simply, "I'm happy." And so, the two started a technology company called COOL, primarily engaged in software development and maintenance, serving clients who were new, small-scale businesses, ranging from personal public accounts to companies with dozens of employees.

Upon hearing Guan Jie's words, Zhuang Buyi's eyes darted around before he smiled and congratulated him, "By the way, today is the day you and your sister-in-law are going to pick out wedding dresses. Go ahead, you've already handled all the preliminary negotiations, I'll just go sign the contract, don't worry."

"I wouldn't trust a genius like you? I'm just afraid you'll make the other guy look utterly worthless in comparison. Haha."

"I promise to talk less," Zhuang Buyi said seriously, crossing his arms.

"Oh, by the way, I ran into your brother at the airport yesterday. He seems to be working on something called self-driving cars. I looked it up online, and it looks very promising." Guan Jie smiled, a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth. "When are you going to get together with him? I think a merger between our two companies would lead to even greater development."

Zhuang Buyi's older brother is named Zhuang Haoqi. From the moment Guan Jie met Zhuang Buyi, he also met another eccentric person in the Zhuang family, namely Zhuang Buyi's older brother.

According to Zhuang Buyi's mother, when Zhuang Buyi's older brother was born, she hoped that her son would have a curious mind, so she named him that. As it turned out, he lived up to his name; Zhuang Buyi's older brother has maintained a very curious attitude towards all kinds of things since birth.

Of course, Zhuang Haoqi's curiosity is not just at the level of mere curiosity, but a deep and profound kind of curiosity. Zhuang Haoqi started playing with toy cars when he was six months old, and then as he grew older, he played with all kinds of vehicles, from scooters to bicycles to go-karts and later racing cars. He didn't miss out on anything he could play with.

You might say that playing with cars is a boy's nature; any random boy would do it and enjoy it. But Zhuang Haoqi would also take his cars apart and put them back together. While others might only go to the park to drive a go-kart for the first time in their teens, he was already able to disassemble and reassemble go-karts and even refuel them at the age of eight. Of course, before figuring all this out, he did a lot of experiments, like when he was three and a half years old, he used copper wire to connect household electricity for an experiment that was quite frightening.

After experiencing Zhuang Haoqi's constant anxiety, Zhuang Buyi's mother named her newborn son Buyi, hoping he wouldn't be as curious and inquisitive as her eldest son. While the word "inquiry" might sound enviable to parents, if you had a child in kindergarten who was cultivating mold or researching the flammability of substances, I think most parents would secretly be thankful they had a well-behaved child.

However, this beautiful wish only lasted for a little over a year. Soon after Zhuang Buyi was able to walk, his parents realized that their son was not as innocent as he seemed, but rather acting strangely and suspiciously.

Years later, Zhuang Buyi's mother finally admitted a fact she was unwilling to acknowledge: her child's personality had absolutely nothing to do with his name.

Of course, she firmly refused to admit that her two children's personalities were entirely inherited from her, because while other people's homes are renovated every few decades or even twenty years, her home would have a missing wall if it wasn't renovated every three years. She didn't want to take the blame for this.

Guan Jie greatly admired Zhuang Buyi's stubborn and strong-willed mother. Perhaps it was this admiration that made him want to be friends with Zhuang Buyi. From Zhuang Buyi's home, Guan Jie could feel freedom, respect, and the courage to pursue his dreams. These are qualities that are almost extinct in today's society.

Zhuang Buyi suddenly realized he hadn't been home for a week. He and his brother had always made it a habit to go home on weekends—not to tinker with electrical circuits, of course, but to bring their parents their favorite pastries and have a nice meal with them. Zhuang Buyi wondered if he hadn't been born into this family, he probably would have been beaten to death long ago.

"My brother is very stubborn; he likes to do research all by himself." Zhuang Buyi shrugged, shook his head, and then said with a smirk, "But I'll ask him when I go home this weekend, but don't get your hopes up too high. You know what I mean."

"Okay. Geniuses are different from ordinary people. You've done your best. I'm leaving now."

Zhuang Buyi waved his hand, and Guan Jie closed the door and walked out of Zhuang Buyi's office.

Zeng Meiqian waited downstairs in a convertible sports car. Her brown sunglasses couldn't hide her beauty at all. Her chestnut hair was loosely draped over her shoulders. Even in the shade, everything around her seemed to be illuminated by her radiance, becoming much brighter.
