Muzan: My daughter can't be that weak!
Chapter 36 Are children made of water?
"Get out." Muzan's gaze remained fixed on the pages of the book, his voice even colder than before.
"Doma is your father now."
He seemed unwilling to say anything more, or even to look at her.
Seeing that Muzan was truly unhappy, Yukina was completely stunned.
Uncle Doma is a father?
Although Uncle Doma is very handsome and always has a smile on his face, he is willing to play with her...
But a father is a father!
Although he always had a cold face and spoke harshly, he would take her to see fireworks and wrap her tightly in his robe at dawn before bringing her back.
The person she most wanted to see after opening her eyes.
The most powerful, the most important, and irreplaceable.
Why did Dad say that?
She never thought about changing her father.
Yukina panicked a little.
"Waaah..."
The body reacted before the mind could process it.
She pounced on him and tightly hugged Muzan's bent legs.
She buried her face in her hands, tears welling up instantly, her voice muffled by the loss of her teeth.
"Waaah, no! Daddy, you can't leave me! Waaah, I don't want Uncle Doma, I want Daddy... Waaah—!!"
Tears quickly soaked the fabric.
Muzan looked down at the dark water stains that were spreading rapidly on his trouser leg, and the veins on his forehead throbbed faintly.
Why are you crying again?
Is this child made of water? Why are there so many tears!
Moreover, these are new clothes he bought!
"Yukina Kibutsuji, let go!"
As he spoke, he reached out and pinched the fabric at the back of Xue Nai's neck with two fingers, trying to pull her away, his actions filled with undisguised disgust.
Seeing that Yukina remained unmoved.
His voice was low, carrying a sinister threat: "If you don't let go, I..."
"I don't--!"
Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Yukina's scream, which sounded like she was about to cry.
At this moment, she displayed an astonishing stubbornness, her small arms gripping his legs tightly, her entire body almost hanging on his lap. No matter how he pulled and tugged, she wouldn't budge an inch, only raising her voice even louder.
"I won't let go! Waaah... Daddy can't abandon Yukina!"
Muzan was momentarily taken aback.
He had seen her cower in fear, seen her cautiously trying to please, and seen her innocent and naive.
But it is rare to see her so reckless and stubborn to the point of almost throwing a tantrum.
This unfamiliar reaction made him pause for a moment.
"If you don't let go, I'll have Nakime teleport you away right now."
These words momentarily silenced Yukina's sobs.
She raised her tear-streaked face, her eyes swollen like peaches, and sobbed as she retorted, but her voice was much weaker.
"Waaah... Nakime-neechan, Nakime-neechan won't help Daddy... Waaah..."
As she said this, her arms, which were wrapped around her neck, involuntarily loosened their grip slightly.
In that moment of relaxation, Muzan seized the opportunity to pull his leg out, quickly took a step back, and created distance.
He looked down at the obvious tear stain on his trouser leg with extreme disgust, pulled a clean handkerchief from his sleeve, and perfunctorily patted it on the wet stain.
Then, as if he had touched something dirty, he simply threw the handkerchief aside.
He didn't even glance at Xue Nai, who was slumped on the ground sobbing, before turning and walking toward the door.
When Xue Nai saw that he was about to leave, she panicked and forgot about crying. She hurriedly got up from the ground and stumbled after him, trying to grab the hem of his clothes with her little hands.
Yet they dared not truly grasp it, and could only follow step by step, like an abandoned little animal.
As he reached the door, Muzan didn't stop, but instead pulled out a clean handkerchief from his pocket and tossed it behind him without even looking at it.
The handkerchief gently landed on Xue Nai's head.
"Wipe your face and hands clean. Otherwise, I'll hand you over to Douma."
After saying that, he opened the door, and his figure disappeared outside in a flash, leaving only the swaying paper door and the even more secluded corridor outside.
Yukina stood there blankly for several seconds before reaching out to pick up the handkerchief.
She haphazardly wiped her wet cheeks and dusty little hands until her skin turned slightly red.
As she wiped away the tears, they silently welled up again.
When she had almost finished wiping her face and was sniffling as she looked towards the door, it was already empty.
She hurriedly ran to the door and peeked out, looking around.
The long corridor was silent, the dim light from paper lanterns illuminating the empty floor.
There was no trace of Muzan at all.
"Waaah..."
The panic and resentment of being left alone overwhelmed her again. She slowly retreated back into her room, closed the door, but didn't know what to do.
Finally, she hugged her knees, shrank into a corner of the room, and buried her face in her arms.
A soft sob rose in the quiet room, muffled, filled with grievance and sadness, and finally even a hint of anger.
"My tooth fell out, boohoo, Daddy doesn't want me anymore! Domo Susu isn't my daddy, Daddy's a bad daddy!"
She cried and muttered to herself.
After an unknown amount of time, the paper door to the room was silently opened again.
Muzan, now dressed in a brand-new black kimono, walked in, his body free of any tear stains or dust.
He didn't see the small figure at first glance, and his brow twitched slightly.
His gaze then swept to the corner and settled on the small figure curled up in a ball.
Intermittent sobs and indistinct mutterings came from that corner.
"Bad dad, bad dad..."
Muzan felt somewhat irritated, but he couldn't quite put his finger on why.
"It's so noisy."
The sobbing in the corner stopped abruptly.
Xue Nai suddenly raised her head, her small face streaked with tears, her eyes red and swollen, looking at her like a frightened rabbit.
Upon seeing Muzan, she instinctively tried to stand up, but her legs went numb from squatting for too long, causing her to sway.
In the end, she just remained curled up, looking up at him blankly, her nose still red.
Muzan strolled into the room, but did not approach her. Instead, he sat down in his usual spot.
His gaze swept over her tear-drenched eyelashes and finally landed on the floor.
"Pick it up."
He commanded, gesturing with his chin towards the tooth on the ground.
Yukina followed his gaze and then remembered her important tooth.
She quickly crawled over, carefully cradling the little tooth in her palm, and then hastily wiped her face with the dirty back of her hand.
As a result, the dust and tear stains mixed together, making her face even more smudged.
She knelt on the spot, holding her teeth, looking at Muzan, wondering what her father was going to do.
"Weren't you going to show it to me?"
Muzan's tone wasn't as cold anymore.
Yukina blinked, tiny teardrops still clinging to her long eyelashes.
The slight resentment and anger in my heart have not completely dissipated.
She stood up hesitantly, holding her teeth as she shuffled over, but as she got closer, she turned slightly to the side as if in a huff, extending her outstretched palm toward Muzan, her little face puffing out as she turned to the other side.
