Muzan: My daughter can't be that weak!
Chapter 103 Slapping your forehead will make you stupid
When Nakime appeared in the courtyard, she was holding a bowl in her hand.
She had just placed the bowl steadily next to the doghouse and hadn't even straightened up when a fluffy little head popped up beside her.
"Nakume-neechan!"
Yukina tilted her head back and raised both hands high in front of Nakime, her ten short fingers spread out, on which sat a clump of cotton-thread spiders with varying mesh sizes.
"Look, look! I can do cat's cradle now!"
Nakime lowered her eyes, her gaze falling on the tangled thread, pausing for a moment.
"Is it a spider?"
"Yes! This is the first little spider that Xue Nai flipped over!"
The child nodded vigorously, her hair bouncing with each step. She grinned, revealing two tiny white teeth, and smiled like a smug little kitten.
"Nakume-neechan was the first to see this!"
Nakime looked at her petite face, paused for a moment, then reached out and gently placed her hand on the top of Yukina's head.
"I'm very happy," she said.
Yukina rubbed her hand against hers, then suddenly remembered something and quickly added, "Brother Lei taught me this! Brother's spider flipping skills are so much better than Yukina's!"
As she spoke, she turned her head behind her and gestured with her eyes—her brother is right next to her! Praise him!
Lei was standing quietly a few steps away. Although she really wanted to join in, she didn't intend to disturb this heartwarming scene.
Suddenly prompted by Yukina's prompting, he abruptly looked up at Nakime.
Nakime naturally knew him.
Throughout the entire Infinite City, no ghost can escape her perception.
Besides, it was Muzan who caused her to be implicated.
At that moment, two children, four eyes, were staring at her from the left and right.
Nakime pursed her lips.
"...You are all great." She finally managed to squeeze out this comment.
Xue Nai immediately smiled even wider, her eyes curving into two little crescent moons: "Thank you, big sister!"
Satisfied, she took the flower rope off her fingers, looked down at herself, and finally haphazardly stuffed the ball of thread into the front of her clothes, pressing it down to make sure it wouldn't fall out.
Tired, I stood there, my ear tips burning, head down, eyelashes drooping.
Nakime's words, "They're all great," were still echoing in his mind. He stood there, stunned, unsure how to react.
Until suddenly a soft little hand slipped into my palm.
He looked up blankly.
Yukina tilted her head, looking up at him.
"Brother, why aren't you saying anything?" She shook his hand. "Do you want to see the puppy eat?"
Inside the room, the puppy was already engrossed in its bowl, its tail wagging like a tiny dandelion, completely absorbed in its food, oblivious to the fact that it was being watched by three pairs of eyes.
Nakime did not leave immediately.
She stood to the side, quietly watching the puppy eat, as usual.
But today, the ghosts squatting next to the puppy, resting their chins on their hands and watching it eat, have increased from one to two.
Two heads, one tall and one short, were very close together.
Yukina would occasionally exclaim in surprise, "The puppy is chewing so hard!" When she got tired, she would watch quietly and occasionally respond with a soft "Mmm".
Nakime remained silent.
The wind swept through the corridor, lifting a few strands of hair from her cheek.
I watched the puppy eat, feeling tired, and remembered that my "thank you" was still stuck in my throat.
He was just stunned.
He had heard Muzan mention Nakime before.
Even though Blood Demon Arts, which governs the Infinite City space, is not among the Twelve Demon Moons, the Master's trust in it is by no means ordinary.
But I am just a newly transformed ghost.
But she gently patted Yukina's head and said, "You are all great."
Like a mother in an ordinary family treats her child...
This kind of interaction is so heartwarming.
Like family.
Thanks to my little sister, Yukina.
I'm too tired.
"Thank you, sister," he said softly, making up for the previous lack of a return thank you.
"Hmm." A low response came from the side.
After Nakime left, the puppy, having eaten its fill, yawned contentedly, its ears drooping and its eyes narrowing into slits.
It wobbled a couple of steps toward its doghouse, then stopped and looked back.
In the courtyard, Xue Nai was pulling Lei towards the swing.
The puppy hesitated for a moment.
It was really sleepy, but that strange two-legged creature was still there. What if it had designs on its master?
What if he kidnaps his owner while he's sleeping?
You can sleep anytime.
It decisively changed direction, took short strides, and followed after them.
"Isn't the puppy supposed to be sleeping?" Xue Nai squatted down and patted its head as it leaned closer.
The puppy rubbed against her palm, making muffled whimpering sounds, but its tail wagged honestly.
It's not at ease.
"Doesn't it have a name?"
He sat wearily on the swing and asked.
The swing wasn't wide, but the two little ones squeezed in and could sit side by side.
He sat up straight, his hands neatly placed on his knees.
Yukina, on the other hand, was more casual, her calves swinging back and forth in the air.
"Hmm...not yet."
Yukina's voice immediately deflated, her little brows furrowing. "I thought about it for so long, and came up with so many names! But..."
She paused, then pouted a little dejectedly: "Later, Nakime-neechan told me that the puppy was a little sister. Then when I looked at all those names, I thought, 'Ugh, they're all so corny!'"
I listened quietly, feeling tired.
He turned his head to look at Xue Nai's round head.
Nakime touched this spot earlier, and now he really wants to touch it too...
"Little sister," he said softly, "may I touch your head?"
"Of course!"
Yukina obediently remained still, letting him touch her.
Her eyelashes trembled from exhaustion.
Such soft hair.
Later, the two little ones jumped off the swing and ran to dig in the mud under the cherry blossom tree.
Xue Nai squatted on the ground, carefully poking at the soft soil with a small stick, trying to dig out a small river.
Tired, I squatted down next to her and helped her clear away the clods of earth that had slipped down.
As she dug, Xue Nai suddenly cried out, threw down the stick, and slapped her forehead hard with her small hand.
"Oh no, brother! I think I have to go to the teacher!"
Her slap was so crisp and loud that it startled even herself.
Lei looked at her, reached out, and gently rubbed the spot where she had just patted him.
"Little sister, don't pat your head, it'll make you stupid..."
"Huh—?" Yukina's eyes widened, her face serious. "Really?"
"Um."
"Okay, I'm not filming anymore! I want to be as smart as my brother!"
