"Oh, Mom understands. These are all things Lili sent, right? You two were just testing how sturdy the car is. Nothing special."

Shen Jingwan sat on the last remaining empty space on the sofa, looked at the two children standing next to her and smiled, deliberately raising the last syllable of her otherwise unremarkable sentence.

This made Xiaoxue and Ye Shu lower their heads even further, and they could only nod somewhat guiltily.

That was indeed their intention, but the two of them were really having a blast, pushing the stroller all over the living room.

It's thanks to the good material of these wheels, I don't know what kind of material they are, that they make no noise when pushed, otherwise there would have been a fight downstairs this morning.

Seeing the two children like this, Shen Jingwan didn't say much. She simply bent down, picked up the bag of black lace from the ground, and said to them:

"Alright, alright, it's getting late. Let's pack these things up and get some rest. If we leave them here overnight, the potato chips will all get chewed up."

Upon hearing this, Ye Shu and Xiao Xue turned to look at the potato chip on the ground, which had been wrapped in plastic film like a dog's intestine. They didn't know how it had managed to do that, as only its head was sticking out. It was lying on the ground, whimpering and pleading for help.

Looking at the potato chips, Ye Shu inexplicably hallucinated the famous snack from his hometown, the rice roll, which turned out to look just like this.

The three of them started tidying up the things on the sofa. Xiaoxue put the ornaments back into the box one by one, while Ye Shu and Shen Jingwan were in charge of folding the clothes.

Shen Jingwan folded a shirt before speaking to the two children:

"Xiao Shu, Xiao Xue, what are your thoughts on the wedding? Although we've discussed it a lot over there, we still want to hear your opinions, since it's your wedding."

As she spoke, she placed the shirt she was holding aside:

"But don't worry, whatever decision you make, your parents will support you. Hey, Xiao Shu, you can't fold these clothes like that, they're going to wrinkle. Go get some hangers and hang them up."

Ye Shu responded, went to the bedroom closet and took a few hangers, neatly hung up the clothes, and then said:

"I'll do whatever Xiaoxue wants; I'll make sure she gets whatever she wants."

After Ye Shu finished speaking, he turned to look at Xiao Xue, waiting for her to make her request.

Shen Jingwan smiled and turned to look at Xiaoxue.

Xiaoxue was holding the rabbit ear headband in her hand, turning it around and around, deep in thought.

She felt the sudden silence around her, and only then did she come to her senses. She realized that Ye Shu and her mother were both looking at her, and then she stammered, "..."

"I...I'm fine with anything...as long as I'm with Ye Shu..."

"Anything is fine."

For some reason, Ye Shu suddenly became anxious upon hearing Xiao Xue's words.

He wasn't angry, he was anxious; he genuinely wanted to give Xiaoxue a wedding without any regrets.

"This is a one-time opportunity; once it's gone, it'll be gone forever. You have to tell us what you want."

Xiaoxue lowered her head, her face turning even redder, after being told off by Ye Shu. She twirled the hairband in her hand faster and faster, like an electric fan.

"Really...really..."

Shen Jingwan smiled as she looked at her daughter, knowing that Xiaoxue was probably too embarrassed to mention it because she was there.

Then I won't ask anymore; I'll just let the young couple discuss it themselves.

"You should think about this matter again and discuss it slowly."

As Shen Jingwan spoke, her hands were also busy, picking up another piece of clothing and starting to fold it:

"Xiao Shu, don't just think about Xiao Xue. The wedding is a matter for the two of you. You need to speak up if you have any ideas. Mom supports you, understand?"

Seeing Ye Shu nod, Shen Jingwan lowered her head and softly said to Xiaoxue:

"Besides, letting Xiaoxue make all the decisions puts a lot of pressure on her, doesn't it, Xiaoxue?"

Xiaoxue, her ears still red from hearing her mother's words, nodded up.

The group quickly tidied up their clothes, and finally, there was enough space on the sofa for people to sit.

Xiaoxue then went over to rescue the little dog Chang. It was a bit carefree and had been whimpering on the ground for a while. When no one paid attention to it, it just lay down and fell asleep.

After Xiaoxue helped it break the seal, it scurried back to its den to continue sleeping.

Shen Jingwan looked at the stroller, which resembled a Swiss Army knife, still parked beside her, reached out and touched the soft seat inside, and smiled:

"Lili is such a thoughtful child, she even prepared this in advance. So, you two, when do you plan to...?"

Xiaoxue was still rolling up the plastic sheet on the ground when she heard her mother's words. She didn't care about being clean or not, and rushed over with the plastic sheet to cover her mother's mouth.

"Mother!"

Shen Jingwan didn't dodge, but reached out and grabbed Xiaoxue's wrists, laughing:

"Honestly, what's there to be ashamed of? We'll have to come to this sooner or later. You're just trying to shut Mom up with this? Wasn't this used to wrap potato chips? How dirty is it?"

Xiaoxue's two hands cannot be moved. Judging from the color of her face, the pH value is estimated to be between 1 and 3, which is highly acidic.

Of course she knew how children came to be; she was past the age of being "given a free gift with a phone top-up," "picked up from a trash can," or "sprang from a crack in a rock."

Besides, last time her mother took her upstairs to chat alone, she even gave her a special lesson on physiology and hygiene, which talked about the origin of life.

When she heard that, she automatically imagined herself and Ye Shu creating life together, and she was so embarrassed that she almost crawled under the bed.

Now that her mother had brought it up again, and in front of Ye Shu no less, she was about to faint.

Ye Shu hadn't thought about it that way. He was gathering the trash together when he heard this. His first reaction was, "The wedding hasn't even taken place yet, and they're already pressuring us to have children. Isn't that a bit too much of a rush?"

Xiaoxue glanced back at Ye Shu, but it was clear she had misunderstood his meaning. Seeing the expression on Ye Shu's face, she almost burst into tears. She whispered to Shen Jingwan:

"Mom! Don't, don't say it...!"

Shen Jingwan looked at her daughter like this, feeling both amused and helpless:

"Okay, okay, Mom won't say anymore."

She sighed inwardly, feeling that her future of having grandchildren was rather bleak.

This is just talk, and it's already like this. What will happen when we actually go to the battlefield?

She stood up, straightened her clothes, and said to the two of them:

"Then I'll be going now. You two should get some rest; you must be tired after a long day. I'll take the trash with me."

As he walked to the door, he turned back to the two of them and said:

"No need to see me off. Also, you two should think things through regarding the wedding and get some sleep."

"Okay, goodbye Mom."

Ye Shu and Xiao Xue said something to the door, the door closed, and the living room became quiet again.

After being caught in the plastic wrap, the potato chips went back to their nest and fell asleep.

Ye Shu glanced at the clock on the wall; it was almost eleven o'clock. He turned to Xiao Xue and said:

"Go wash up first. You must be exhausted today. Get some rest."

Xiaoxue was still preoccupied with the miracle of creating life with Ye Shu. When she heard Ye Shu speak, she quickly hummed in agreement and rushed into the bathroom without looking back.

He filled a tub with warm water and submerged himself completely, leaving only his eyes and bright red ears showing.

He held his breath until he reached his limit before finally surfacing.

She cupped her hands and patted the water on her face to try and stop thinking about it.

But that's how the brain works; the more you force yourself not to think about something, the more it will revolve around you.

Those indescribable images swirled in her mind: Ye Shu leaning against her, gazing at her with deep affection, and then…

"ah!!!!"

"What's wrong?!"

Ye Shuzheng was trying to stuff the last few pieces of clothing into the closet when he suddenly heard a scream from the bathroom. Thinking he had seen a snake, he rushed to the bathroom door and asked through the door.

"N-nothing! You...you don't come in..."

Xiaoxue couldn't help but shout out earlier, and now she's pressing her burning face with both hands, babbling incoherently at the doorway, not knowing what to say.

I didn't intend to go in either...

Ye Shu was speechless for a moment, but she was relieved to hear that nothing was wrong, and went back to continue tidying up the wardrobe.

In the bathroom, Xiaoxue pressed her hands against her face and pouted her lips.

I can't keep thinking like this. If I keep thinking like this... I'll really become like that little yellow girl...

She patted her face, which was already red, and then turned even redder.

The best way to stop thinking about one thing is to start thinking about another.

The wedding I wanted...
