The weather in the southern part of the city is unbearably hot again, and this is just the beginning; it's not even the hottest time yet.

But Ye Shu, being of pure northern blood, and even from the far north, was naturally a type of person who was resistant to cold but not to heat.

Walking down the street right now, looking at the blazing sun overhead that looks like an oven lamp, I feel like I could burn myself.

Sometimes he even wondered if he was a vampire in his past life, otherwise why would he be so afraid of the sun?

He subconsciously turned his head to look at Sister Zhi Qiu beside him, and this sister didn't seem to be much better than him.

Her originally fair face was flushed from the sun, and sweat was beading on her nose. Even her usual signature smile had turned into a frown.

But that seems obvious. With such a big sun shining on your head, unless you've been hit by the Xuanming Palm of the Xuanming Elders, who wouldn't be sweating?

But Sister Zhi Qiu still had that habitually stoic personality; she hadn't uttered a single word all this time.

If this happened to Xia Qing, she would probably have complained about the heat and wanted to go home to enjoy the air conditioning.

The two of them decided to go out on a whim, only thinking about avoiding the wedding planning group's seminar at home. Neither of them thought about the weather, and neither of them wore a hat to shield themselves from the sun.

The main reason is that they originally planned to just stroll around near their home, but they ended up walking this far.

Ye Shu glanced around and saw that there was a fairly large shopping mall next door. What else was there to say? He would just buy one.

He shook his arm and said:

"Sister Zhi Qiu."

"Huh? What did you call me?"

Zhi Qiu turned her head, resumed her smiling expression, and looked at him, asking questions.

"Um...wife."

Ye Shu quickly changed his tune, and Zhi Qiu leaned closer to him, satisfied.

"Hmm, good girl. What's up, honey?"

Ye Shu felt the sun had gotten even hotter, so he quickly pointed with his chin at the mall entrance next to him:

"It's so hot in the sun, shall we go inside and buy a hat?"

Zhi Qiu glanced at it and said with a smile:

"Okay, let's go, honey."

Ye Shu actually admired Sister Zhi Qiu quite a bit. The way she said the word "husband" was so smooth, as if it was something she was born to say.

Why is it so difficult for me to call my wife? I always feel embarrassed.

Ye Shu felt a little guilty when Zhi Qiu called him "husband" so loudly. He glanced around to see if anyone was watching him.

Actually, nobody cares; he's just being conflicted.

As soon as the two entered the mall and lifted the heavy, insulated curtain, a particularly strong blast of cold air enveloped them.

This suddenly reminded Ye Shu of the sword-forging competition he had watched. He was like that sword that had just been forged, which was originally red-hot, but was suddenly plunged into a bucket of water.

However, he was practically thrown into an ice cellar; he felt cold.

Good heavens, this is a place fit for human beings!

I remember Mr. Zou Dejiang imitating Mr. Shan Tianfang saying something like, "It's easy to catch a cold when the weather is suddenly hot and cold, how can you know when it's windy and rainy?"

Ye Shu knew this was definitely unhealthy, but he still wanted to kowtow to the central air conditioning system.

This is unhealthy, but then staying outside in the heat will just deplete your health bar.

This shopping mall is indeed quite large, probably five or six stories high.

The first floor sells a wide variety of items, such as gold and silver jewelry, trendy blind boxes, watches and bags—basically all luxury goods.

The second and third floors are the shoe and clothing section, with all kinds of brands.

The fourth and fifth floors are restaurants, offering everything from hot pot and buffets to Japanese and Korean cuisine.

The top sixth floor houses places like escape rooms and arcades.

There were quite a few people in the mall, but if you look closely, you'll find that most of them were just there to enjoy the air conditioning; not many were actually shopping.

The sofas in the public rest area were full of elderly people; if you didn't know better, you'd think there was another health lecture being held there.

However, Ye Shu and his companion didn't come in to sit. They linked arms and took the escalator up to the second floor.

As mentioned before, Ye Shu's purchases are purposeful.

The word "shopping" simply doesn't exist in his dictionary.

His shopping motto is: go into the mall, find your target, take the item, pay, and leave.

I will never be indecisive or waste a single minute browsing casually.

Once he got to the second floor, he glanced around and sure enough, he spotted a hat shop right next to the escalator.

The sign at the entrance was a string of artistic English letters. Ye Shu glanced at it, didn't recognize it, and figured it wasn't a big brand.

However, what he cares about least is the brand.

Whatever brand it is, it's not like you can eat it. As long as you can put it on your head to block the sun, it's a good hat.

He took Zhi Qiu's arm and turned to rush towards the shop.

But just as he lifted his foot, he heard Zhi Qiu next to him exclaim "Oh dear!" as if she had seen something incredible.

"That dress is so pretty!"

Zhi Qiu took his arm and gently pointed to the window of a clothing store not far ahead:

"Honey, look at that one, the dark blue one. It'll look great on you! Come on, let's go in and try it on!"

As she spoke, without waiting for Ye Shu's consent, she pulled him and walked over there.

"I know... honey, I have clothes to wear. Didn't we come here to buy hats?"

Ye Shu glanced back at the hat shop that was getting further and further away. The shop assistant at the door had indeed seen him just now. She recognized him by his eyes. He was her customer.

Ye Shu's eyesight was indeed better; both of his eyes were 1.5. He could see that the young lady had her professional smile all set up, but the next second, he was dragged away by Sister Zhi Qiu.

The young woman's smile faded again, but she was probably thinking: "Dude, why did you even turn this way if you weren't going to buy anything? You're wasting my time!"

Zhi Qiu led Ye Shu into a clothing store next door, which sold both men's and women's clothing.

Upon entering, Ye Shu noticed that the store's decor was beautiful, a minimalist style, and soothing English songs were playing.

As soon as I entered, a young man who looked to be in his early twenties greeted me.

The moment Ye Shu saw the young man, the classic line from Bi Fujian came to mind: "This young man has a rather demure appearance."

This subtlety is a feeling, a quality.

It's different from being effeminate. It's not that they deliberately act coy or pretentious, but rather that they exude a kind of feminine softness from the subtle details of their eyebrows, eyes, and body movements.

"Welcome, beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen."

When the young man spoke, his voice was quite feminine, but his laughter was incredibly sincere.

Wow! He's really polite. Ye Shu's impression of this guy instantly improved a lot.

To be honest, Ye Shu wasn't the kind of person who was prejudiced against effeminate men. The world is a big place, and there's all sorts of people out there.

Everyone has their own way of living. How others grow or dress is none of my business.

Ye Shu always believed in one principle: no matter how much you dislike someone, it is their freedom.

Conversely, in other people's eyes, you might also be a piece of stinking dog shit.

What Ye Shu disliked was never appearance or temperament, but rather that kind of pretentious, affected, and dramatic personality.

Moreover, it has nothing to do with gender; he finds anything that can be done annoying.

But this guy in front of me, although he doesn't look particularly masculine, is just pleasing to the eye and doesn't annoy anyone.

Zhi Qiu pointed to the mannequin in the shop window:

"Find that dark blue one in the shop window for my husband, let him try it on."

"Okay, beautiful lady, no problem. You have a great body, that outfit would definitely look good on you."

The young man praised the clothes while turning around to find them.

Ye Shu stood there, listening to Zhi Qiu's words "for my husband." Besides feeling shy, she also felt a strange sense of pride, the kind of smug feeling of "Look, she's my wife."
