Ye Shu didn't know what time he fell asleep last night, but it must have been in the middle of the night. However, because the sofa was so uncomfortable, he still woke up early.

Before he even opened his eyes, he felt something soft and warm in his arms, with gusts of warm air blowing on his chest.

Without even thinking, Ye Shu simply lowered his head and nuzzled the head of the person in his arms, already used to it.

She lifted her eyelids a crack and looked down into her arms.

Sure enough, An Suxue curled up in a ball, nestled against his chest, fast asleep.

Is this some kind of refresh point in my arms? Does it refresh with an Ansu Xue every morning at a set time?

Ye Shu looked at An Suxue in his arms; her face was still a little red, and her lips were slightly pouting. She didn't seem to be in pain.

He reached out and gently touched An Suxue's forehead with the back of his hand. Thankfully, it wasn't hot anymore; it seemed she was truly better.

Thank you, God of canned yellow peaches.

This morning was quiet because there was no snoring duet from Dad and Uncle An yesterday morning.

Last night, my aunt's family went back to their own home, so my dad and Uncle An no longer have to sleep on the floor.

It's clear that Chairman An, who enjoys such a high-quality life, suffered a lot last night sleeping on the floor. Just look at how his shoulders were hunched over when he walked yesterday; his back must have been aching all day.

However, people who are used to sleeping on high-end mattresses probably won't feel much better if they suddenly have to endure the discomfort.

As Ye Shu closed her eyes and drifted into thought, she suddenly felt a warm, damp sensation in her chest.

He opened his eyes and looked down into his arms.

An Suxue was dreaming about something delicious, her mouth slightly open. Because she was lying on her side, drool dripped from the corner of her mouth, soaking a small patch of his shirt.

She seemed to be dreaming of eating something delicious, because she even smacked her lips twice.

Ye Shu looked at An Suxue, who was "talking fluently" on his chest, and found her rather cute.

But cute as she is, we can't let her keep plunging down like this forever, or she'll be washed away again.

Just as Ye Shu was about to turn around and get some paper to wipe her, a problem arose.

An Suxue was eating heartily in her dream, with half of her body pressed against him. Ye Shu didn't dare to make any big movements, afraid of waking her up.

Therefore, Ye Shu could only try to reach the tissue box on the coffee table behind him in an extremely awkward posture without waking An Suxue.

Little by little, he slowly bent his right arm backward in a "laying rooster, the fighter jet among roosters, oh yeah" posture, relying entirely on his estimation of the layout on the coffee table.

Just a little bit more... just a little bit more...

But the angle was too tricky. He had already bent his arm to its limit, and just when he felt his fingertips almost touching the plastic pack of the tissue box...

"hiss!"

Suddenly, the muscle under my right arm felt like it was twisted together, and I felt a sharp, cramping pain.

I got a cramp!

Ye Shu felt the pain and quickly pulled her arm back, trying to stretch it upwards.

Even though it hurt so much, he didn't utter a sound. He gritted his teeth to keep from crying out, but sweat was already beading on his forehead from the pain.

But muscle cramps aren't something you can just stretch out; the muscle feels like it's doing a relentless sit-up, the pain is unbearable.

However, his other arm was pinned under An Suxue's neck and he couldn't move it at all. He could only swing his right arm back and forth in the air.

Just as Ye Shu was grimacing and struggling with his arm, he heard a "slurp" from his arms, and then An Suxue opened her eyes in a daze.

It's often said that a woman is most beautiful when she's just woken up, and you know what, she really does look adorable.

An Suxue was clearly still half asleep, her eyes somewhat dazed. She first nuzzled Ye Shu's arm, which was resting under her head, before slowly tilting her head back to look at Ye Shu.

But when she looked up, she saw Ye Shu with a touching expression, his eyes watery, looking like he was about to cry, and his right arm was raised very strangely, like the antenna of an old radio.

She blinked, stared at Ye Shu for two or three seconds, and then connected Ye Shu's strange morning ritual with her newly activated brain.

"Ye Shu... what's wrong?"

Her eyes darted back and forth between Ye Shu's tearful eyes, his grimacing face, and his raised right arm, her little head filled with big question marks.

Was I having a nightmare? But why would someone hold their arms up like that during a nightmare? Is it some new prayer pose?

Seeing that An Suxue had already been woken up, Ye Shu realized there was no need to force himself to endure it.

He immediately sat up from the covers on the sofa, hissing, not caring whether he would wake the others in the other room. He put on his slippers and started frantically swinging his right arm while pinching it with his left hand.

However, because An Suxue had been using her left hand as a pillow for a long time, it was also a little numb, and her whole arm felt heavy. It felt like many small needles were pricking her when she moved it.

She looked both disheveled and pitiful.

"I'm getting a muscle cramp...!"

Ye Shu grinned and gave An Suxue, who was still looking bewildered on the sofa, a slap in the face before letting out a long sigh and sitting back down on the sofa.

It's quite cold in the mornings here in winter. Especially since the fire on the kang (heated brick bed) is turned off in the middle of the night, and the little warmth in the room has long since dissipated, the air is chilly.

Ye Shu quickly rolled over and crawled back into bed. The warmth of their combined body heat inside the blankets was much better than outside.

After he lay down, he also pulled An Suxue, who was still sitting there, into his arms and wrapped her tightly in the blanket.

"Lie down quickly, you've just recovered from a cold, don't get chilled again."

An Suxue obediently lay down, and only after his reminder did she realize that she seemed a little cold, and couldn't help but snuggle closer to Ye Shu.

But while my body warmed up, my mind started to belatedly start working, and a very serious problem arose.

Wait! When did I get into Ye Shu's bed?!

She clearly remembered that she felt unwell last night because of a fever, and fell asleep on the kang (a heated brick bed) in the inner room after dinner.

So... what's the current situation?

An Suxue looked at Ye Shu, who had closed his eyes again, intending to take a nap, and slowly began to recall some things...

It seems to be... late at night.

Because she took medicine before bed, Ye Shu's aunt, knowing she didn't like ginger water, made her honey water instead, which caused her to need to urinate in the middle of the night.

Not wanting to wake her mother, she tiptoed out of bed in the dark, put on her shoes, and went to the toilet in the outer room.

The outer room was a little brighter than the inner room because the curtains in the outer room were not drawn, and the moonlight slanted in through the window.

Because she was still half asleep, she thought she saw a white shadowy figure standing in front of the sofa, but it flashed by and disappeared in an instant.

Her heart suddenly tightened, and she was instantly wide awake.

An unfamiliar old house, dim moonlight, a fleeting white shadow...

She froze, too frightened to move. By the moonlight, she saw Ye Shu fast asleep on the sofa… Was it just her imagination? Or…?

She dared not think about it anymore, and she dared not go to the toilet alone.

She practically fled, rushing to the sofa at top speed.

She didn't know why she ran this way. The white figure had clearly been right here, but she didn't have time to think about it and slipped into Ye Shu's bed.

Ye Shu, who was asleep, turned over and hugged her tightly.

Held in Ye Shu's arms, she slowly relaxed and peeked out from under the covers. There was nothing in the living room except for the moonlight.

She shrank back inside and fell asleep in Ye Shu's arms...

Only then did An Suxue belatedly realize that she needed to use the restroom.

Was that white figure from last night just an illusion?
