Han Yang's family runs a supermarket located in an old residential area on the street, next to a primary school, and business is decent.

Ye Shu often came back with Han Yang when she was in college, and she was also familiar with Han Yang's parents.

He took Tang Xiaotao and Zhi Qiu out of the taxi and saw Han Yang's father carrying boxes of things out of the supermarket from afar.

Han Yang's father looked quite sturdy, not very tall, with a buzz cut, and a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He was loading all the boxes into the Seven-Handed War God.

"Uncle Han, I'm busy."

Ye Shu approached and greeted him.

"Hey, Xiao Ye's here!"

Uncle Han raised his head and took the cigarette away from his mouth:

"That kid is inside taking inventory; he'll be done soon."

He noticed two unfamiliar girls following Ye Shu, but didn't ask any questions, simply nodding and smiling.

Ye Shu rolled up her sleeves, wanting to help:

"Uncle Han, let me lend a hand."

"No need, no need, these are the last two boxes, they're all covered in dust, don't get them dirty. We'll be done soon."

After saying that, he stacked the two boxes next to him on top.

As they were talking, Han Yang came out of the supermarket carrying a box of things. He had even changed into a more presentable outfit today, and had also tidied his hair a bit.

"Coming, just two minutes, it'll be ready soon."

Ye Shu glanced into the car. Besides the apples, there were some other odds and ends, probably the items she would sell during today's live stream.

Han Yang stuffed the box he was carrying into the car; it sounded quite heavy.

"You know what, they've prepared quite a lot."

Ye Shu smiled and helped close the car door.

Han Yang took a breath before looking at Tang Xiaotao and Zhi Qiu behind Ye Shu.

Ye Shu also introduced him to:

"This is my sister, Tang Xiaotao. She's been visiting these past few days. She heard you were going to do a live stream, so she came along to hang out."

"Your sister?"

Han Yang was taken aback and asked Ye Shu:

"Didn't you always say you were an only child? Where did this little sister of yours come from?"

"My aunt's daughter, my cousin."

"Oh, hello little sister, hello little sister."

Han Yang smiled at Tang Xiaotao, but when he shifted his gaze to Zhi Qiu's face beside him, his smile froze.

This girl... she's pretty, has a great presence, and just stands there quietly with a constant smile; she's very pleasant to look at. But... why does she look so familiar?

Han Yang frowned slightly, his mind racing. Had he seen him somewhere before? A friend of Ye Shu's? No, that couldn't be right. If Ye Shu had someone like that around him, he couldn't possibly be unfamiliar with them...

When Zhi Qiu saw him looking her over, she didn't flinch. Instead, she met his gaze with a slight smile, then reached out and took Ye Shu's arm, leaning her body slightly against him.

There's no need to say more; their identities are already clear.

At this moment, Han Yang's father dusted off his clothes and turned to greet the group:

"All done, everything's moved. Come on in, everyone, don't just stand at the door, come on in. Xiao Ye, bring your friend in and have a seat, have some water! Help yourselves to whatever you want to eat, don't be shy!"

The group entered the supermarket. Han Yang grabbed a few bottles of drinks, then pulled Ye Shu behind a nearby shelf and whispered:

"Xiao Shu, who's that pretty girl next to you...? She looks so familiar!"

He glanced at Zhi Qiu, who was sitting there talking to Tang Xiaotao and looking at the supermarket environment, and asked in a lower voice:

"What's going on? Another one? And it's a pedal... This won't do! You can't do this!"

Ye Shu was amused by his "You're not allowed to be a scumbag" look.

"Take a good look, see who she is, look closely."

"What am I looking at? Even if I look at her, she's not..."

Han Yang stopped mid-sentence. He looked through the shelf and saw Zhi Qiu listening to Tang Xiaotao speak with her head slightly turned. That gentle, smiling face suddenly overlapped with the face of the woman in the barbecue restaurant that day, the one wearing sunglasses who had scared him into silence.

His eyes widened as he turned to look at Ye Shu:

"Holy crap, it really is her?! What... what's going on? Wasn't she... that day?"

He gestured as if he were wearing a trench coat and sunglasses.

Ye Shu just smiled, but didn't say anything more, and walked back to Zhi Qiu's side.

Han Yang stood behind the shelf, stole another glance at Zhi Qiu, and muttered to himself:

"My goodness... the contrast is just too much!"

As he walked back, he grabbed a large plastic bag and started stuffing it with whatever was inside, regardless of what it contained. Potato chips, biscuits, dried fruit, chocolate... he filled the whole bag to the brim.

He walked up to Tang Xiaotao with the bag and shoved it directly into her arms.

"Here you go, little sister. We're going to the live stream location later. It's a bit out of the way, there's not much food there, so bring some snacks so you can eat while you watch."

Tang Xiaotao was taken aback by the sudden feeding, feeling a weight on her legs. Looking down at the large bag full of snacks, she burst into laughter:

"Thank you, Brother Han!"

Han Yang waved his hand, about to say "You're welcome," when he suddenly felt something was off. He scratched his hair:

"Hey, little sister, how did you know my surname is Han?"

He remembered that Ye Shu hadn't introduced himself earlier.

Tang Xiaotao, clutching her snacks, blinked, a little confused by his question. She subconsciously glanced at Han Yang's father, who was tidying up beside her.

"Because...because your dad's surname is Han...that...isn't he your dad?"

"puff!"

Ye Shu couldn't hold back and burst out laughing, and Zhi Qiu couldn't help but raise her hand to cover her lips as well.

After making some more preparations, Han Yang waved his hand:

"Alright, everything's ready, everyone's here. Let's go, I'll show you around my startup base."

After greeting Han Yang's father, the group squeezed into the seven-handed van, stepped on the gas, and the van, carrying the shivering passengers, drove away.

The car smelled of apples mixed with the dusty smell of some groceries.

Ye Shu sat in the passenger seat and looked back. Zhi Qiu and Tang Xiaotao were sitting in the back. Tang Xiaotao looked out the window at the passing street scene, while Zhi Qiu tilted her head slightly and returned Ye Shu's gentle smile.

As the car continued to move forward, Ye Shu noticed that the buildings on both sides gradually became shorter and sparser, while the greenery increased.

"Where are you headed? If you keep going, you'll be out of town."

Looking at the increasingly open road ahead, Ye Shu couldn't help but ask.

Han Yang, with one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting on the car window, laughed:

"We need to move out of the city. I discussed this livestreaming idea with my parents. It definitely won't work at home; it's noisy, takes up too much space, and disturbs the neighbors. Luckily, we have an empty old house outside the city. That area is basically vacant now, just waiting for demolition plans. It's usually deserted and quiet. I told my dad that we should clean it up and use it as a temporary livestreaming studio. The only downside is that it's a bit far, and the gas money goes up every time we drive back and forth."

Ye Shu smiled but didn't respond. Looking out the car window at the vast expanse of wasteland that was beginning to appear, he suddenly remembered something, turned back, and asked:

"Hey, Song Yunyun... what's going on between you two? I noticed the way you were looking at her was weird, were you interested in her? So, any chances?"

As soon as Song Yunyun's name was uttered, Zhi Qiu, who had been sitting quietly in the back row, turned to look at Ye Shu's profile, but did not speak, just listened.

Upon hearing Ye Shu's question, Han Yang twitched the corners of his mouth and smiled somewhat helplessly:

"No, we're just friends right now. It's no use if I'm the only one interested, she's not. Besides, she's given me a lot of advice on my live streams and stuff, she helped me figure out the whole process, I'm really grateful to her."

When he said this, there was no resentment or disappointment in his voice. He genuinely liked the person, and he was also genuinely grateful.

After hearing this, Ye Shu didn't say anything. Fate is a complicated thing.
