Full-Time Magister: All-Element Mutant Star Child
Chapter 58 Undead Summoning
I'm so upset. This book failed to get signed three times: new book contract review, cross-contract review, and even the 100,000-word contract application review.
The 100,000-word application for contract signing is the platform's final review. If it fails, the book will not be able to apply for contract signing again, and no matter how much you write, it will not be able to get a contract.
There's no need to continue writing this book.
The author will release the remaining twenty-odd chapters in installments over time. Interested readers can take a look when they have time. The chapters will not be reviewed again before being released.
The author is considering starting a new book, so please keep an eye out for it.
……
The necromantic star trails look very simple, yet they convey an endless sense of deathly stillness.
As the star trails shifted, a black vortex appeared in front of Dongfang Yang. At the other end of the vortex, it resembled a tomb, from which faint deathly and turbid energy surged forth.
Dongfang Yang quickly shut down the black vortex.
"Double happiness! I've also finished controlling the necromantic star today," Dongfang Yang murmured to himself.
"However, I wasn't prepared just now. I'll adjust my state of mind before entering the world behind the black vortex to contract with the undead."
"As for the Breath of the Dead, I'll test it at the training ground tomorrow."
The Necromancer and Summoner classes are similar, yet different.
The initial level of the Summoning system only has one spell—Dimensional Summoning, which summons a beast from a summoning plane.
This necromancy-based basic magic is called "Summoning the Undead". The first-level magic is Summoning the Undead itself, the second-level magic is "Breath of the Undead", and the third-level magic is "Summoning Souls".
(For any questions, please refer to the "Original Novel's Basic Necromancer Magic Plot" chapter.)
The first-tier necromancy spell "Undead Summoning" is similar to "Dimensional Summoning," both of which summon demons from other dimensions to aid in battle.
Dimensional summoning involves a summoning mage entering a summoning plane with their mind to sign a dimensional contract with a demon before summoning it.
The dimensional summoning contract is not very binding; it's like a temporary worker, and can only summon one creature at a time. If the summoned beast dies, the summoning mage will suffer a backlash from its soul.
Necromancer summoning involves a necromancer's mind entering the underworld or dark plane to sign a summoning contract with undead creatures. This contract can be either an employment contract or a slave contract.
Employment contracts and dimensional summoning contracts are similar; both are employment relationships or cooperative relationships.
A slave contract is essentially a contract of servitude. Once an undead signes it, they are obligated to serve the mage until death, even though the undead have already died once.
Whether it's a necromancer contract or a necromancer slave contract, if the necromancer in a mage contract dies, the mage will not suffer a backlash from the soul. A necromancer will only lose one necromancer and nothing else will happen to them.
There is no limit to the number of undead summoning contracts. As long as a necromancer has enough mental power, they can contract as many undead as they want.
However, when casting spells to summon undead, only one can be summoned at a time. To summon a second undead, you need to cast the spell again.
If the mage has enough undead in his contract, he can summon them all one by one and then gang up on the enemy.
While summoned beasts can be trained to become stronger, summoned undead can also be enhanced and upgraded.
It seems that necromancy is far superior to dimensional summoning.
However, there are gains and losses. Undead creatures at the servant level mostly lack intelligence, and even warrior-level undead may not be as intelligent as cats or dogs. They are very easy to fall into enemy traps during battle.
It is precisely because undead servants have no intelligence that slave contracts are possible.
However, as the undead level increases, they also begin to develop intelligence, so it becomes impossible to contract powerful undead as slaves; at that point, the only option is to sign an employment contract.
Even if a powerful undead tries to sign an employment contract or use psychological inducements, they might not necessarily pay any attention to a necromancer.
Therefore, it is also difficult for necromancers to summon powerful undead from other dimensions.
Of course, it's another matter to start by enslaving weak undead through contract and then nurture them to become stronger.
Keeping undead in the magical plane after they are summoned will continuously consume mana. The more powerful the individual undead and the more undead are summoned, the more mana will be consumed.
This is similar to the summoning-type dimensional summoning magic.
In addition, the undead are afraid of sunlight and light magic.
Of course, it is the spirits of the East that fear sunlight.
Light magic is feared by almost all undead.
Undead are also categorized. Based on the creators of magic and the characteristics of undead, they can be divided into Eastern undead and Egyptian undead, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
The Necromancer system was created by humans, and there were two creators: the Eastern Necromancer system was created by the Ancient King, and the Egyptian Necromancer system was created by the Pharaoh.
In the magical realm, the Eastern undead, created by the Ancient King, are mainly concentrated in the ancient capital.
The spirits of the ancient capital are said to be reborn and transformed after death because of the lingering death energy. This is closely related to the ancient king's search for immortality, which he believed was to generate life from death energy.
Eastern spirits are more vulnerable to sunlight and light magic, and they are nocturnal, gathering wherever death energy is strongest.
Under the sunlight during the day, the death aura on the dead will dissipate. If the death aura dissipates to a certain extent, the dead will truly "die". Therefore, the dead will hide during the day.
Light magic is essentially an enhanced version of sunlight, and it is especially effective against the undead.
Because of the Egyptian undead system created by the Pharaoh, the Egyptian undead are concentrated in Egypt.
The necromancer system in Egypt originated from the Pharaoh, who derived it from the curse system, perfectly coinciding with the immortality technique of Qin Shi Huang.
These undead are mostly those who were "cursed" by the undead during their lifetime, their souls imprisoned in their bodies, turning them from humans into undead monsters.
Although the birth of these undead also requires death energy, their dependence on it is not very strong. Therefore, the undead that appear in the Egyptian undead system are not afraid of ordinary sunlight.
However, as dark creatures, Egyptian undead are extremely vulnerable to light, which is also highly destructive to them. This level of vulnerability and destructive power is no less than that of light against Eastern undead.
In addition, the spirits of the Egyptian dead are said to constantly linger around the pyramids.
The pyramids are the tombs of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs, who were actually extremely powerful slave owners during the slave era, essentially lords who held the power of life and death over everyone.
These pharaohs wielded immense power, even in death requiring countless people to guard them. Thus, they centered their tombs and pyramids as the center of a curse, ensuring that all those buried with them and those who died nearby would be reborn and forever guard their tombs and pyramids.
Therefore, wild Egyptian spirits will always linger around the pyramids; wherever a pyramid appears, Egyptian spirits will gather there.
Although one prefers to be active at night and the other prefers to gather around the pyramids, they are both undead, both creatures of darkness.
Over thousands of years, the cultivation systems of Eastern necromancy and Egyptian necromancy have merged. At least on the surface, their magical skills are the same, but the undead they control are quite different.
Dongfang Yang's deathly necromancy system is clearly the necromancy system created by the ancient king.
Furthermore, although the undead were created by the ancient kings and pharaohs of the magical plane, undead also exist in the dark plane and the underworld.
