My partner at Hogwarts is Tom

Chapter 24, Lesson 1: Welcome to Minecraft

Amidst a continuous stream of discussions and exclamations of surprise.

The group of young wizards also left the schoolyard and headed towards the animal protection classroom.

Amidst the commotion, in an intersecting corridor, the little badgers and eagles unsurprisingly encountered the little snakes and lion cubs.

However, compared to the lion cubs who were lamenting why the new professor didn't teach near the Forbidden Forest like Professor Kettleburn, this was a different story.

The little snakes traveling with them had rather complicated expressions.

When the small animals met, the badgers' repeated recommendations made their expressions even more interesting.

Anxiety, tension, disdain, and a touch of awe—these emotions, like a palette of colors, were displayed on their faces.

The deliberately amplified gasps of surprise from the Gryffindors nearby, along with their deliberately directed glances, only made them feel more uncomfortable.

Even the little snakes, under Gryffindor's expectant gaze, gripped their wands tightly.

However, to Gryffindor's regretful gaze, the much-anticipated melee did not take place, as the Magical Protection Classroom was already within reach.

Amidst anticipation and curiosity, the young wizards filed in.

When the last young wizard arrived at the spacious, but empty, classroom, there were no tables or chairs.

With a loud "bang!", the heavy classroom door slammed shut.

When they came to their senses, Victor and Tom were already standing on the podium.

At Viktor's feet was a leather briefcase.

Seeing the group of young wizards looking at him with curiosity and doubt, Victor didn't say much, but simply waved his wand and laughed.

Welcome to the world of magical creatures!

Before the animals could even ask anything, a crisp "click" rang out. The suitcase beside Victor's feet opened.

Then a powerful suction force emanated from the opened suitcase.

A series of exclamations and screams erupted from the young wizards.

The small animals were then absorbed into that ordinary-looking suitcase.

Looking at the empty classroom, Victor laughed and jumped into the suitcase with Tom.

As everyone disappeared, the classroom became empty.

And at some point, the briefcase that had been placed on the podium had also disappeared.

…………

On the vast grassland, the sky is a clear, deep blue, with a few wisps of white clouds drifting lazily by.

Suddenly, a fluffy cloud began to ripple like a burst bubble.

Immediately afterwards, a series of screaming little wizards tumbled and fell from the clouds, like dumplings being dropped into a pot.

"Merlin—!"

"I'm going to fall and die—!"

"Help--!"

The tranquility of the grassland was shattered by screams that rose and fell in waves, their robes fluttering in the wind.

Just as they were about to crash onto the grassland below, which was covered with grass up to their calves.

The calm, lush green grass below, barely reaching the calves, suddenly came to life.

Countless dark green vines with fine, scaly patterns sprang up from the grass at astonishing speed, like a swarm of nimble snakes, making a soft rustling sound.

They weave and crisscross in mid-air, flexible and precise, in the blink of an eye forming a resilient green net covering a large area.

"puff!"

"Ouch!"

"Um?"

One after another, the young wizards fell into the net, but the expected impact pain did not come. Instead, they felt a cushioning sensation as they were held up by the flexible net.

The vine netting dipped downwards elastically, firmly supporting all the falling weight, then gently bounced back, causing them to undulate slightly.

The young wizards, still shaken, lay on or sprawled on the vines, looking around blankly.

As far as the eye can see, there is an endless grassland, and in the distance, there seem to be low rolling hills.

A gentle breeze blows, and the grass ripples like waves, carrying the fresh and moist scent of earth and grass.

Above us was an incredibly realistic blue sky and white clouds, and we could even feel the warm sunshine.

"Where...where is this?" A Ravenclaw girl adjusted her crooked glasses, her voice filled with disbelief.

"We're in the box! I know this!" a Hufflepuff boy exclaimed excitedly, touching the smooth, cool vines beneath him.

"Cool!" This was the unanimous exclamation from the Gryffindors after they came to their senses.

Most of the Slytherins quickly got to their feet, trying to remain calm and composed, though their eyes betrayed their shock.

"This is incredible..." Cedric propped himself up, looked around at the vast expanse of land and sky, his eyes filled with amazement.

He calmed down faster than his classmates, but the shock he felt was no less.

The vine net began to gently lower them to the ground.

The feel of touching the soft grass is incredibly realistic.

As soon as the last student stood still, the vines quickly retreated into the grass and disappeared, as if they had never appeared.

Just as the young wizards were having their fun, Professor Victor and Tom appeared in the distance, as if they had been standing there all along.

"Welcome," Victor's voice clearly reached everyone's ears.

He opened his arms, his face bearing a pride unique to creators.

Welcome to Minecraft.

"Minecraft?" many students murmured repeatedly.

"Yes," Victor nodded.

"An expanded small space that I have shaped and maintained using alchemy, the Invisible Extension Charm, and the Weather Charm."

"Here, the climate, terrain, and ecology all operate under the rules I have created. This place is for the protection and research of magical creatures, and it is also the main classroom for our future practical courses."

"What caught you just now was a 'Net Serpent Vine,' a variant of a devil's web. It's a very gentle magical plant, a kind of buffer for new visitors to this world."

"Small space?" Cedric murmured.

Looking at this seemingly endless grassland and the distant hills and peaks that can be vaguely seen.

Cedric couldn't sense anything about the "smallness" in the small space Victor was talking about.

This idea not only came to Cedric's mind, but also to all the young wizards present.

Looking at the shocked young wizards in front of him, not knowing what to say.

Victor didn't rush to start today's lesson; he simply watched them quietly and waited for them to finish processing the information.

Victor was very understanding of the young wizards' current state.

After all, he had the same expression when he first saw his grandfather Newt's suitcase.

At that moment, he was thinking, "This is hardly a small space."

This is a completely new little world, untouched by humans, belonging to magical creatures!
