My partner at Hogwarts is Tom

Chapter 21 The Iron-Capped Prince

With the arrival of the Hogwarts Express, the annual opening banquet is about to begin.

The young wizards, from second to seventh grade, discussed their holidays and returned to Hogwarts in night carriages.

The first-year wizards, as new students, discussed various outlandish legends about Hogwarts that they had heard from their parents or siblings.

These outrageous legends reached their climax after passing through towering giants, a series of ghosts that passed by or over them, and the stern Professor McGonagall.

The young wizards nervously lined up and entered the Great Hall under Professor McGonagall's imposing presence.

Upon learning that they would be sorted into the House by a dirty, old hat that sang awful songs, the young wizards all breathed a sigh of relief.

Standing next to the Flying Cap, the professor held up a parchment and began to speak.

"Hannah Abbott".

The moment the name was uttered, not only were all the young wizards and professors in the Great Hall momentarily stunned, but even Professor McGonagall herself paused, glancing at the first week's list with some disbelief.

All eyes turned to the blonde girl with pigtails on the Hufflepuff table, who was also stunned.

Feeling the gazes of everyone, Hannah was at a loss. What should she do now?

Should we go to Professor McGonagall's department for another sorting?

At that moment, everyone seemed to have been put on pause.

Seeing the strange atmosphere, Tom, who was eating a small cake, suddenly froze.

Then he pulled out a large parchment from the fur behind his buttocks and quickly flipped it over.

Finally, he appeared before Professor McGonagall with a "whoosh" holding a piece of parchment, and handed it to her with great apology.

With the correct student list in place, the division of departments proceeded smoothly.

However, just as the last young wizard ran toward the Hufflepuff table amidst enthusiastic applause, and Dumbledore was about to rise and announce the start of the meal...

Tom indeed transformed into a whirlwind and sat down on the small stool in the new branch.

Seeing Tom suddenly appear, all the young wizards couldn't help but look over curiously.

After all, they had just seen Tom handing over the list of new students to Professor McGonagall.

Tom, sitting on a small stool, pointed to the Sorting Hat in Professor McGonagall's hand, and then to his own head.

"You want to be sorted into a different house too, Tom?"

Faced with Professor McGonagall's knowledge, Tom nodded quickly, then sat up straight and waited for the next sorting.

Seeing this, both the professor and the young wizards were amused by Tom's serious expression.

Professor Tom McGonagall, who was looking at her seriously, smiled.

Then, very cooperatively, she called out Tom's name and put the Sorting Hat on.

"Oh, Merlin's wool socks! Hogwarts has actually welcomed a cat! This is the first time I've ever sorted a cat into a house!"

While muttering to itself, the Sorting Hat began to sense Tom's thoughts.

"Yes, it longs for a warm home again, doesn't want to be a stray cat, and is very considerate of its family's feelings. Oh, and it's also a smart cat."

"My goodness, did you create all of this? You're amazing!"

Hearing the Sorting Hat's praise, Tom couldn't help but raise his head.

"Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw would both be a good fit for you, so which one would you like to choose?"

Tom seemed quite conflicted after hearing the Sorting Hat's choice.

Victor was from Hufflepuff and made many friends there.

And Victor told me that the young wizards there were all very gentle, and like him, they were excellent cooks.

The young wizards on Ravenclaw's side are all very intelligent, and each one has a distinct personality.

But he wants both his friends and delicious food, and he also wants to be a smart cat. Which should he choose? It's such a dilemma!

Just as Tom was struggling with this decision, a lightbulb went off in his head.

Then, in the cat and hat's mind, Tom's figure suddenly appeared, and he pulled the Sorting Hat off his head and gestured wildly at him.

"Oh, what's going on? How could you drag me out of your mind? And no, no, not both academies at the same time!"

Seeing that the Sorting Hat was not going to agree, Tom gestured again and made a series of promises.

After some friendly discussion, the Sorting Hat reluctantly agreed to Tom's request.

"Okay, okay, what can you do? You're just a cat. Cats are always unruly, aren't they?"

"Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw!!!"

With the Sorting Hat's shout, Tom's Sorting process came to an end.

Upon hearing the result, the young wizards, including Chipatch and Ravenclaw, applauded in a very respectful manner.

Just moments before it was taken down, the Sorting Hat's voice still echoed in Tom's mind.

"Hey kitty, don't forget you promised to take me to the luxury bathroom for a bath!"

After completing the sorting process, Tom excitedly got up.

He then casually pulled on his clothes, and a sharp suit appeared on Tom's body.

Then he politely bowed to each of the little wizards who clapped in thanks.

Seeing Tom's performance, the applause from the young wizards became even more enthusiastic.

Hearing the continuous cheers, Tom also became arrogant.

After Tom had had his fill and obediently returned to Victor's side, Dumbledore then got up to continue his speech for the year.

"Welcome back to Hogwarts in the new year! And in this new year, we also welcome two new professors. I think you're all familiar with them: Professor of Protection of Magical Creatures, Victor Scamander, and Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, Gilderoy Lockhart!"

"Let us welcome our two professors to Hogwarts."

As he spoke, Dumbledore smiled and led the applause.

Victor and Lockhart, who was standing next to him, also stood up with smiles and waved to them amidst the cheers of the young wizards.

Amidst the applause and cheers, two figures tiptoed through the side door of the Great Hall to the Gryffindor table.

Hermione, gazing adoringly at Victor and Lockhart at the professor's table, caught a glimpse of two familiar figures sitting beside her out of the corner of her eye, and then turned away without turning her head.

"Hey Harry, Ron, where have you two been? I didn't see you two when I was in the carriage."

As she spoke, Hermione turned back to look at her two friends with lingering reluctance.
