All Heavens: Starting with the Predator, I'm No Longer Human

Chapter 44: Can the reward lead to re-employment?

As Chu Cige stepped forward, the other iron-blooded gazes continued to focus on him, with expressions ranging from disbelief, admiration, longing, and fervor.

Standing below the stage, Zhanbo felt a sense of satisfaction under the intense gaze of Tiexue beside it. As Chu Cige's trial teammate, although it hadn't participated in the final battle, it felt a sense of pride at this moment.

Once Chu Cige stood still, Tie Xue, the guard behind the elder, immediately brought over the first tray.

The elder took the retractable spear from the guard's tray and handed it to Chu Cige: "Scarface, this spear has accompanied me through countless battles and is the weapon I have used the longest. I hope you can use it well in the battles to come."

"Yes, Elder."

This spear was the one the elder had given him before, and now it was being used as a reward again, which made Chu Cige realize how stingy he was.

Couldn't you just give me another one? You have so many spears in your collection that you don't use, you might as well give them to me! Besides, what kind of logic is it to reward someone with the same item twice?

Next up is the second item, which is also a form of "re-employment"—nano armor.

The elder picked up the nanoarm armor and said, "As one of only two Predators in recent centuries to have hunted down the Alien Queen solo during their coming-of-age ceremony, this armor possesses..."

These were rewards from the system through the elders, so they could be considered a "triple employment." Receiving these two items, Chu Cige felt nothing but a desire to complain.

He skillfully attached the nanoarmor and hung the elder's spear at his waist. This action made the elder's eye twitch.

Couldn't you have waited until all the items were given out before going back to test the effects? Why did you have to act so familiar at this crucial moment?

Fortunately, the other Ironbloods didn't pay attention to these details.

The third item was a specially made necklace. Upon closer inspection, Chu Cige could see that it was adorned with a skull of an alien queen made of an unknown jade material.

"As for this third item, it is a reward prepared by your instructors. Although it doesn't have any special function, it represents their goodwill and serves as a mark of being the strongest in this training camp."

"If you hunt other powerful prey in the future, you can carve a skull from Taiyao stone as an ornament..."

He took the necklace from the elder and put it around his neck. At first glance, it was obviously an ornament, and Chu Cige didn't have high expectations for it. He touched the Empress's head; it felt cool and pleasant.

The last item was a black card.

Now for the main event! The previous rewards were either "re-employment" or decorations, so this final black card has to be something special! Otherwise, what's the point of holding this awards ceremony?

Chu Cige picked up the black card on the tray. It had a frosted texture and a matte finish. The front depicted an alien queen, while the back had a series of numbers and the symbol of the Zhu Yan tribe—a strangely shaped monkey.

After the elder finished admiring it, he said, "This card represents that you are recognized as an elite Ironblood by the Zhu Yan tribe, enjoying the privileges set by the entire Ironblood clan for elite Ironbloods. It not only includes priority in exchanging the latest equipment in the contribution hall, but also includes a self-selected residence, a small spaceship of your own, and so on."

"I won't go into too much detail. You'll have to experience some of the features yourself. As long as you have this black card, even if you're not within the Zhu Yan tribe's activity area, you can seek help from other nearby tribes if you encounter any trouble."

So valuable? Chu Cige had expected the reward to be quite good, but he hadn't expected it to be so practical. The spaceship that belonged to him alone was of immeasurable value, not to mention the other value-added services.

Moreover, this privilege was not limited to the Zhu Yan tribe, but was something that was common to the entire tribe.

"Thank you, Elder!"

After bestowing all the gifts, the elder looked at the other Ironbloods below the stage and said, "I believe many of you Ironbloods envy the reward I gave to Scarface, and think that my reward as an elder is too generous."

Upon hearing this, many of the members of the Iron Blood Society in the audience looked at Chu Cige's belongings with burning eyes, and some even gave him the look of "he can be replaced".

"Wrong, completely wrong! I think these rewards are far from enough to recognize his bravery and fierceness. If you other Ironbloods can do even better, I will not be stingy with the tribe's resources to train you all."

"To put it bluntly, the only reason I was able to attend this awards ceremony was because of Scarface. I took some time out of my busy schedule to personally present him with the award."

He had heard the Chu Ci songs in one ear and out the other; he was immune to this kind of brainwashing and motivational approach because he had heard it so many times during his company training before he transmigrated.

But the warriors below the stage are a bunch of single-celled organisms, with only simple thoughts in their minds: hunting, killing, and bringing glory to their tribe.

The elder's words were just right, stirring up their desire for status, power, and self-expression—they were all ruthless, so why couldn't I stand on the stage and receive the elder's praise?

Seeing the eyes of the Ironbloods below the stage gleaming with envy at his words, the elder said with satisfaction, "There just happens to be an opportunity soon. The Centennial Hunting Competition is about to begin, and Scarface has already secured one spot. He needs two teammates to help him participate."

"And these teammates will naturally be chosen from among you. This is an opportunity to showcase yourself, and also an opportunity to bring glory to the tribe and acquire resources. If you perform well..."

"Not only will you receive even greater rewards than today, but you will also gain the envious and admiring gazes of the entire Ironblood tribe, and you will also win the favor of the female Ironbloods in the tribe."

"Are you confident that you can fight alongside Scar for the Horde?"

The elder shouted.

"Yes!" came the deafening shouts.

"Very good!" The elder nodded, signaling Chu Cige to say a few words.

Having been slacking off the whole time, he was suddenly pushed to the front by the elders and was a little bewildered, unsure of what to say. His mind was a complete mess, but finally, under the expectant gazes of the entire audience, he shouted, "Rebuilding the glory of the Zhu Yan tribe is our inescapable duty! Victory!"

After saying that, he raised his arm and gave a shout.

The enthusiastic crowd responded with shouts of "Victory!" and "Victory!"

Looking down at the Ironbloods below, waving their arms in unison with him, Chu Cige felt his blood boil and his heart surge with excitement. This feeling of being able to command such a large following was incredibly exhilarating, no less so than his interactions with Reina.

……

After the commendation ceremony ended, the elder left the training camp early.

Chu Cige was surrounded by a group of iron-blooded warriors, who asked him to recount his heroic feat of fighting the Empress alone.

He said a few perfunctory words and then, amidst their admiring gazes, walked towards where Bone Spikes and the Lone Wolf Instructor were.

The two had already made an agreement with him: instead of bragging to those Celtic underlings, he should fight the two instructors to improve his skills.

Among the Ironbloods that Chu Cige could identify, Lone Wolf was one of them. Its facial scars and distinctive broken tooth made it instantly recognizable: "Instructor!"

Bone Spike nodded, a look of satisfaction on his face. "Good lad, you've already made arrangements with the elders without a word to participate in the Centennial Hunting Competition, haven't you?"

The lone wolf gave a soft "hmm" in response.

"I only found out last night."

Chu Cige was prepared for Lone Wolf's indifference; not every tough instructor would value Chu Cige as much as Bone Spur.

If it weren't for wanting to fight him, Lone Wolf wouldn't have paid any attention to Ironblood, who had already graduated. Even his initial assignment to the training camp to teach them was at the elders' insistence.

Otherwise, given the lone wolf's nature, it would probably be hunting powerful creatures on some planet right now!
