Chapter 50 Venomous Fang's Plea for Help

Through "The Vigilant Eye," Ian sensed a familiar yet strange chilling aura.

"Venomous fangs?"

The visitor turned out to be Venom, which surprised Ian.

He rarely interacted with Venom. On the way to the "Furnace", Venom always lingered on the edge of the group, with a gloomy look in his eyes and was taciturn.

Aside from the tasks assigned by Captain Hank, he hardly interacts with anyone else.

Ian and he hadn't exchanged more than five words in total.

"Tap, tap tap."

The rhythm is short and quick, with a subtle tension.

Ian's eyes flashed, he straightened his robes, and opened the door.

The fang outside the door was half a head shorter than Ian and had a thin build.

He was wrapped in a slightly oversized dark gray cloak, and his face was pale.

"Fang?" Ian asked calmly, stepping aside to make way. "Come in."

Venom nodded without speaking, then slipped into the house with swift, agile movements, like a shadow flitting by.

After entering the room, he quickly scanned the surroundings, his gaze lingering on the alchemy table for a moment before he lowered his eyes.

Ian closed the door and casually activated a simple silencing barrier, a little trick he'd learned from the old piper.

"Sit down." Ian pointed to the only chair in the room and leaned against the edge of the alchemy table.

"A late-night visit, what brings you here?"

Venom didn't sit down; he stood in the center of the room, his hands clenching and unclenching somewhat awkwardly.

After a few seconds of silence, he raised his head, his voice a little hoarse, but he spoke very quickly.

"Ian, I need your help."

He was straightforward and didn't exchange pleasantries, which is in line with his usual style.

"Oh? What kind of help?" Ian asked calmly.

Venom licked his slightly dry lips and stared directly at Ian.

"You know, I was chosen in the lottery just now."

Ian nodded and continued listening.

Venom paused, took a deep breath, as if making a decision, "Potion, I need a potion to enhance my strength."

You're a potion master, but I know your potion-making skills are... very high! The two potions you concocted are significantly more potent than the others in the warehouse; those of us who use them regularly know this very well.

Ian raised an eyebrow, surprised that Venomous Fang had observed so closely. He had already mastered his two potions, and their effects were indeed much stronger than those of others.

Venom continued, speaking even faster: "I need a potion that can unleash powerful abilities, a potion that can temporarily boost my strength or enhance my survival skills in critical moments."

After speaking, Venomous Fang stared intently at Ian, his grey-black eyes filled with a mixture of pleading and a hint of the young apprentice's apprehension.

At that moment, Ian suddenly realized that beneath the gloomy, mature face of Venom, his actual age might not be that high.

His long-term association with curses and poisons may have contributed to his precocious and cold temperament.

But when faced with a life-or-death crisis, that sense of unease that belongs to young people will still show.

Ian did not answer immediately, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the edge of the workbench.

He was weighing the options quickly.

Venomous Fang's strength and special abilities are helpful to me in the camp.

The fact that Hank entrusted him with the important task of handling "special situations" shows that his methods of cursing and using poison are indeed extraordinary.

A teammate who excels at stealth could be incredibly helpful in crucial moments…

One more thing, Venom's words reminded Ian.

Since Venom Fang is often away on missions, Warcraft blood might be a good source of resources.

"Temporary burst potion..." Ian pondered, his gaze falling on the constant temperature box, which contained several enhanced versions of the [Rock Bear Potion].

"I do have a potion," he said slowly, his eyes lighting up instantly when he saw the fang.

"It is not simply a temporary booster, but a bloodline potion that can permanently enhance physical fitness and strength."

"A permanent upgrade?!" Venomous Fang's breath hitched, and his face darkened.

"Bloodline potions... require neutralizing potions in combination, right? This is the front lines, I can't buy any."

Poison Fang was clearly not completely ignorant; after all, he was an advanced apprentice and knew some basic knowledge.

Ian nodded. "This potion was made using a special method at great cost. Its effects are much stronger than the regular version."

Without the aid of a neutralizing agent, the user is very likely to…

He made a gesture of his body swelling and becoming distorted, the meaning of which was self-evident.

Venom's face paled, but the desire in his eyes did not die out.

Risk and opportunity coexist; this is the norm on the path of a wizard.

"Neutralizing agent..." Venomous Fang murmured, then suddenly looked up as if he had thought of something.

"Sterling the Wizard! He's a powerful potions master; he must have high-quality neutralizing potions!"

Ian's heart skipped a beat. Sterling even had the powerful [Heart of Lava] potion, so he should have the neutralizing potion as well.

This will expose his true talent in potions, but it's not a big problem.

Venom gritted his teeth. "I can ask the captain! He's a leader Sterling trusts; maybe there's a chance, even if the price is high..."

His tone carried a sense of desperation; he was willing to give anything to survive the brutal mission.

Looking at the eagerness and hope in Fang's eyes, Ian suddenly felt that this seemingly cold and sinister curse wizard might have a completely different personality inside.

"You specialize in curses and sorcery," Ian changed the subject, "I've heard of some secret techniques that can secretly probe an opponent's approximate strength?"

A glint flashed in Venom's lowered eyes, then he looked up at Ian.

"I know you're very strong... even stronger than Captain Hank!"

He is a curse wizard and does indeed possess the secret method to discern the approximate strength of his opponents.

He sensed a threat from Ian that was far stronger than that from Captain Hank—a terrifying threat that could kill him!

Ian sighed inwardly, realizing that no advanced apprentice should be underestimated. He wouldn't be surprised if the wizarding world had any strange secret techniques.

He already had some suspicions that Venomous Fang would come to him tonight instead of Hank.

He walked to the constant temperature box, opened it, and took out an enhanced version of the [Rock Bear Potion].

Within the blood-red potion, countless, almost frenzied, golden threads throbbed, resembling the constantly twisting and deforming bodies of extremely fine insects.

Even from a distance, Venom could sense that surging, rock-like bloodline power.

"This is the [Rock Bear Potion]. It has many benefits, but it has a major drawback: its power ceiling cannot be broken through to the level of a formal wizard."

Ian handed the box and the medicine to Venom, saying, "The medicine is potent; be extremely careful."

With trembling hands, Venomous Fang accepted the medicine as if grasping at a lifeline.

"I understand! Thank you... Ian." He said the last two words with particular solemnity.

"No need to thank me. I hope you come back alive. The cost of the medicine can be paid for later with your life essence, preferably the life essence of the Rock Armor Demon Bear."

Ian stated his terms of the deal; giving it away for free was out of the question.

Fang nodded without hesitation: "No problem! As long as I come back alive, even if I don't, Captain Hank will pay my reward."

"Alright." Ian gave a faint smile. "Then, I wish you a successful mission and a safe return."

Venom carefully tucked the box into the closest place to his body and thanked Ian profusely once again.

Then, just as when he came, he quietly opened the door and disappeared into the darkness outside.

Ian closed the door, the soundproof barrier dissipated, the smile on his face slowly faded, and his eyes darkened.

The arrival and request from Venomous Fang were like a pebble thrown into water, stirring his thoughts.

He wasn't too bothered by handing over the enhanced version of the [Rock Bear Potion]. As long as he collected enough essence blood, there would only be more and more in the future, and he couldn't keep it hidden forever.

If they can use the venomous fang as a lead to uncover the network of relationships among Hank and his group, it will greatly help his subsequent actions.

They might even be able to use this opportunity to contact the wizard Sterling and obtain his permission to quickly gather resources here.

If done properly, it's not impossible.

He is now gradually showing a good talent for potion making and has gained some credibility in conversations.

But right now, something more pressing was taking over his mind.

Ian's gaze drifted to a certain direction outside the window, towards the area where the family's wizards gathered.

"The Osborn family..."
