Chapter 480 Central City
Chapter 480 Central City
Luna Peak.
Ian sat in the head seat, while Gaga stood beside him, curiously looking down.
Aurelia opened the record crystal, her tone respectful.
"Lord Marcus, the Alliance registration process consists of three steps—"
Ian already knew the whole process, but he still patiently listened to her finish explaining.
Aurelia is here on behalf of the Alliance only to provide guidance; most of the procedures still need to be handled at the Supreme Alliance headquarters.
Especially in the rule detection step, the will projections of the three True Spirit Wizards will come in person.
Normally, only one True Spirit appears when a new Radiant Sun registers, but Ian's situation is special, and all three have indicated they will come.
Ian glanced at her. "Because of my teacher?"
"This is also part of the reason, to show respect to His Majesty the Witch King."
Aurelia did not deny it, and slid her finger across the crystal to bring up a document record.
"Another reason is the Star Ruins report you submitted. The Alliance has never seen such data on rule fluctuations before. Several old guys in charge of the initial review argued about it for days, and finally it was taken to the True Spirit."
The report mentioned the remnants of ancient will and the phenomenon of rule extraction, but Ian did not explain the specific details, which the true spirits were also very curious about.
"Asking won't help," Ian thought to himself. "It involves the rules of chaos, and I'm still figuring it out myself."
Aurelia didn't press the matter. She knew her limits; the secrets of the Sun Realm were not something a Radiant Moon like herself should concern herself with.
"And there's the registration for the throne title," she continued.
"Once the title is set, it cannot be changed. It will be engraved in your alliance file and appear in all official documents."
There are no hard and fast rules for naming conventions, but they usually need to fit their own rules system, such as "Azshara's Emerald Dream" and "Bron's Warlord".
"I will not change my title; I will use the title from the Morning Star era: Eternal Sun."
Aurelia lowered her head and read it aloud, her eyes gleaming. The title was full of domineering intent, which was quite different from Ian's image.
But it fits perfectly with the rules he reveals, and is indeed a burning sun, highly recognizable.
Ian didn't offer much explanation; the title was just perfect.
The eternal sun both inherits from the past and does not reveal the existence of chaotic rules. The sun can be a constant star, the precursor to a white dwarf, or a past form of a neutron star.
"After the title is determined, the territory will be divided. Each Sun Throne will be given an exclusive territory, and you will be in charge of all management. The alliance will not interfere."
Aurelia closed the crystal and looked at Ian, "Your achievements in the G-7 region, your independent conquest of multiple resource worlds, your key contributions to the Singularity Campaign, and the added bonus of being a disciple of the White Emperor, should earn you a very high initial rating from the evaluation committee."
"Do you have a preferred jurisdiction?"
Ian nodded. "Yes, my territory should ideally be Zerg territory."
Aurelia raised an eyebrow slightly. "But there are still remnants of Overlord activity over there, so it's not safe."
"I know, I'll figure out how to handle this myself. Just follow these instructions."
There are super energy crystal veins over there, which is exactly what he urgently needs. Filling up the white dwarf planet would consume a lot of resources.
Aurelia lowered her head and pondered for a few seconds, then stopped trying to persuade her.
She had dealt with Ian a few times and knew that once he made up his mind, there was no point in trying to persuade him.
I heard that back when he was still a Level 4 Morning Star, he dared to venture alone into the world of Exok, which was being corrupted by both the Zerg and the Abyss, in order to obtain advanced meditation techniques and energy core materials.
Now that the sun is shining brightly at level six, are we still afraid of a few remnants of the enemy?
"My guidance quest is now complete. You are welcome to travel to Central City whenever you are available."
"Let's do it now." Ian didn't waste any more time and led Aurelia to the teleportation array.
The teleportation time from Silvermoon Highlands to the central city is about 15 minutes.
Gaga jumped off Ian's shoulder, squatted at his feet, and stared curiously at the dense array of stabilizing runes on the array wall.
It has used many teleportation arrays, but very few are cross-continental.
Aurelia entered the teleportation array with her deputy and gestured with her chin toward the staff member next to her.
"Everyone's here, let's set off."
The teleportation was initiated, and a gentle thrust rose from beneath our feet. The void outside the array wall turned into a blurry stream of light, and occasionally, the afterimages of one or two stars could be glimpsed as they swept across the edge of the light screen, disappearing in an instant.
The teleportation array trembled slightly, and after a while, the runes on the array walls slowed down; they had arrived at the central city.
Ian stepped out of the teleportation beam and was greeted by the seven floating towers above him.
Each one is tens of thousands of meters high, with its top soaring into the clouds, invisible to the eye, and imposing in its grandeur.
The tower is made of a kind of translucent white crystal, and the top of the tower is marked with the unique rules of each faction.
The symbol of the Tower of Knowledge is an eye that never closes; the symbol of the Forge of War is a burning warhammer; the symbol of the Temple of Dragons' Rest is a coiled ancient dark gold dragon.
The symbol of the Silvermoon Council is a World Tree covered in stars, its tower still quite new, with traces of its construction remaining on its surface.
The Alliance only began construction after Azshara ascended to the Sun, a mere few years in total, which is but a blink of an eye in the wizarding world's timeline.
Gaga poked its head out from Ian's shoulder, its eyes wide open. "It's so big. I wonder how tall it is, compared to Azshara."
"That's just an inanimate object, how could it be as tall as the World Tree?" Ian shook his head.
Aurelia led Ian across the square toward the Alliance headquarters.
The plaza floor was covered with stable runes, and faint lights of order shone from the cracks in the bricks, firmly locking in the fluctuations of space.
The surrounding area is a cluster of buildings, each an independent wizard tower, varying in height and style.
The streets were bustling with people, and Ian also saw many figures of different races, dressed in wizard-style robes, strolling leisurely without looking out of place.
Before they had taken more than a few steps, the space around them began to fluctuate repeatedly.
As if by prior arrangement, the top forces from all sides arrived together.
The first thing to appear is the Tower of Knowledge, where the great scholar Orion is dressed in his signature simple gray robe, his beard reaching his chest, and he holds a notebook that is half-opened in his hand.
Behind him followed a middle-aged witch, a level five Radiant Moon, who was Orion's most recently accepted disciple.
"Ian, long time no see." With the excitement typical of a researcher, Orion walked up quickly and handed over a memory crystal without saying a word.
"This is the latest research result from Gaota, a correlation analysis of the order concentration gradient and the rate of regular differentiation. It just came out of the lab and is still fresh in our minds."
Ian glanced down at the crystal in his hand; the amount of data sealed inside was enormous.
Even a preliminary scan can reveal a rule analysis model with hundreds of nested layers. This level of achievement is usually only circulated in academic exchanges at the Hao Ri level.
Orion had done him a considerable favor.
"Thank you for your kind gift, Dean."
Orion waved his hand. "Don't be so polite with me. I've read your Star Ruins report. Your reasoning on the differentiation of rules is very interesting. Several of your assumptions coincide with the conclusions I verified in the lab."
He lowered his voice, "Come sit in the tower when you have time. We have several topics we'd like to discuss with you in person."
Ian nodded in agreement, "I'll definitely visit when I have time."
Orion stepped back with satisfaction, making way for the people behind him.
The second to arrive was an envoy from the Dragon Sleep Temple. The silver dragon, Oles, had taken human form today, and her eyes were filled with a smile.
Behind her followed several young members of the dragon clan, each holding an antique-looking gift box.
The box opened automatically, revealing the contents: three fist-sized level-five dragon crystals, each containing a liquid fire nebula. The energy fluctuations emanating from them caused the surrounding air to tremble slightly.
"Lord Marcus, His Majesty has ordered me to deliver a congratulatory gift." Oles clapped her hands.
"Besides dragon crystals, there are also some specialties from my clan's treasury." She handed a list to the wizard accompanying Ian.
"His Majesty also said that he would be ready to welcome you at any time."
Ian nodded slightly. "Please thank the Lord for me. I will certainly pay him a visit another day."
A smile played on Aulis's lips, a sly glint in her eyes. "His Majesty said that you said the same thing last time."
"—This time it's for real." Ian was speechless; this old dragon was far too enthusiastic.
Aulis bowed her head in greeting. "Then I will go back and report. His Majesty will be very pleased."
Just then, a gruff voice boomed from behind: "Haha! Ian, you've finally arrived."
Before Bloom's figure could even solidify, his voice had already resounded throughout half the square.
He strode out, still in his signature heavy armor, each step leaving a charred footprint in the square.
The surrounding wizards quickly moved aside, afraid of being burned by the footprints.
"I knew you'd make it, Hao Ri! You're thousands of years ahead of me!"
Bloom immediately slapped Ian on the shoulder, and the air around him rumbled as his hand landed.
Ian's shoulders twitched slightly.
He remained expressionless, somewhat speechless, "Brother's strength is still so great."
"Nonsense! I'm a body-refining wizard." Bronn grinned, took a wine jug from his waist, and stuffed it into Ian's hand.
The wine jug was made of some kind of dark red metal, which was scalding hot to the touch, and a faint steam was rising from the spout.
"The special brew from the furnace is even stronger than that last jug of strong liquor. We'll see how it goes at the banquet later."
"No problem."
Bloom gave a satisfied hum, turned and strode away, but turned back halfway.
"By the way, I have a rising star under my command named Calgas, whose title is Lava Colossus. He recently broke through to the Sun Realm. I'd like to introduce you to him; you young people should get to know each other better."
He disappeared before Ian could respond.
Ian glanced at the string of charred footprints on the ground, then at the still steaming wine jug in his hand, and silently put it into his spatial storage.
The envoys of the remaining three major forces also stepped forward one after another.
The Void Echoes Society was exceptionally generous this time, sending over a rare crystal of the rules of fate.
The messenger was a female prophet wearing a veil of starlight, speaking softly, yet every word carried an enigmatic meaning.
When she handed the crystal to Ian, her fingertips inadvertently brushed against the back of his hand, leaving a very faint silver thread.
This is some kind of mark of fate, without malice, more like a contact card.
The sorcery school sent a set of ancient spell scrolls. The messenger was an elderly man dressed in a black robe of legal codes, who was polite but somewhat aloof.
When he handed the scroll to Ian, he read a congratulatory message in a businesslike manner, and then stepped aside.
The Star Council's gift was a star map tablet that could locate itself in the void, and the messenger was a semi-transparent star spirit.
When he handed the stone tablet to Ian, he stared into Ian's eyes for several breaths. "The ancestral spirits command that they wish to reunite with you once again."
After everyone left, Ian had a lot of gifts in his hands.
Gaga peeked out from his shoulder and looked at each gift. Apart from some dragon crystals, none of them caught her eye.
"These people are really something, they don't even know how to give practical gifts."
"You're quite observant."
Gaga pulled her head back. "Of course, we can't let anyone fool us."
Ian didn't say anything more and carefully accepted all the congratulatory gifts from various people.
At the exit of the square, Azshara and Serafina stood side by side. They had arrived long ago, but had not yet come forward.
The Elf King was dressed in a silver-white suit today, surrounded by the lingering aura of the rules of life and death. His demeanor was more composed than when they last met, indicating that he had completely stabilized his sixth-level realm.
Azshara remained in her graceful female form, watching Ian receive gifts from various factions in turn, remaining silent until the last person left before approaching him.
"I never received this kind of treatment before. Have you already dealt with everything?"
Ian shook his head. "Among the people who came today, many of them are people from the Radiant Moon faction that I've never even heard of."
"Many of them are newly emerging level-two forces. How does that feel?"
Ian thought for a moment, "The flask of wine in the Bronnard is quite good."
Azshara chuckled, said nothing more, and turned to lead the way to the Silvermoon Council's tower.
Upon entering the tower's main hall, one finds no solemn inscriptions or rules, but rather countless floating moonlight lamps, creating an atmosphere similar to that of Silvermoon Highlands.
Several familiar faces were chatting in twos and threes, the atmosphere was harmonious, like a group of old friends chatting after a meal.
"Ian, come here, let me introduce you to some people." Bloom's loud voice came from the corner.
He had changed out of his heavy armor and was now wearing a relatively light dark red leather armor, but he was still holding a wine glass in his hand.
Standing next to him was a burly man, three meters tall, with shoulders as broad as a wall.
His skin was a deep volcanic rock color, and his aura was extremely heavy. Standing next to him was like standing at the foot of a slowly rising mountain range.
"Calgas, the rising star of the Forge of War, is known as the Lava Colossus."
Bloom slapped the burly man on the back, but the man didn't budge.
"He's one of my old subordinates. He's been fighting alongside me on the front lines since he was a Level 3 soldier. He's been through a lot and been ruthless enough to finally make it through. He just broke through to the Bright Sun Realm a year ago."
Calgas reached out to Ian, his palm broad and rough, covered with calluses from years of wielding a hammer.
"Ian, I've heard so much about you. I've seen your battle records. You single-handedly took down twelve Mother Nests. Well done."
Ian shook his hand. "Luckily, it's all in the past."
"Too much modesty is hypocrisy," Calgas said seriously. "I'd like to learn a thing or two from you sometime."
Bloom laughed heartily from the side, "What's the rush? Let's drink today, we'll fight another day!"
He then handed Ian a glass of wine.
On the opposite side, from the ranks of the Tower of Knowledge, a slender figure walked over.
Her robe was embroidered with pale gold patterns, indicating that she held a high academic rank inside the tower. She looked young, no more than thirty years old.
But her eyes were extremely special; the pupils were light gold, and countless tiny runes were flowing rapidly inside, as if constantly analyzing all the information in front of her.
"Lord Ian, I am the Eye of Truth," Isabella said, bowing slightly, her manner far more formal than Orion's.
"The Dean spoke highly of your Star Ruins report and hopes to have the opportunity to discuss it with you in detail."
Ian nodded and smiled. "Anytime."
A hint of surprise flashed in Isabella's eyes, probably because she hadn't expected Ian to agree so readily. She bowed slightly and then retreated back into the crowd at the Tower of Knowledge.
"Isabella is Orion's prized student," Serafina said, walking up to Ian.
"Her eyes are a natural mutation, not something that was modified later. Combined with the Truth Eyes magic of the Tower of Knowledge, she can see details of rules that others cannot."
It is said that when she was at the third level, she saw through the experimental flaws of a fourth-level tutor and pointed out the error in the model that the tutor had been working on for three months.
The professor was both annoyed and amused, and in the end, he gave her half of his lab space.
Ian glanced in Isabella's direction. "Orian's lucky."
"It's not luck," Serafina shook her head.
"It took Oriond hundreds of years to find her, and he spent a full ten years probating her before accepting her as a disciple. In his words, finding a disciple is like finding the truth; you can't rush it or settle for less."
Azshara stood by the window, then suddenly beckoned to a corner where a seemingly unassuming man named Hao Ri O sat.
A dark gray cloak covered most of his face, with only the gray stubble on his chin visible.
Holding a glass of plain water, he didn't participate in anyone else's conversation, and his posture was even inconspicuous.
Neither too far forward nor too far back, it blends perfectly into the shadows of the light.
"His name is Fandral, Lord of the Lone Star. He rarely interacts with other Suns, except for the occasional visit to my place," Azshara explained.
Ian remembered the title; Aurelia had mentioned it on the way.
A Sun Wizard who is not affiliated with any faction lives in seclusion deep in the Silverpine Forest and rarely participates in the Alliance's public activities.
Fandall raised his head, revealing a pair of tired eyes beneath the hood of his cloak.
The kind of weariness that comes after experiencing too many partings and losing too much.
However, his aura was extremely pure, without any trace of chaotic rules, indicating that he followed a school of thought that specialized in one particular rule.
"Congratulations." Fandall's voice was hoarse, and he spoke slowly.
"It's been a long time since Xin Haori visited Silver Pine Forest. You can come and visit when you have time. There's nothing there except trees, but it's quiet."
Ian nodded, and Fandral fell silent, lowering his head to continue drinking his water.
The party didn't last long, ending after about an hour.
After all, Ian has to face the formal test from three True Spirit Projections early tomorrow morning, so it's not advisable to linger too long tonight.
Gaga perched on Ian's shoulder, its little head nudging closer.
"That Calgas has about the same grip strength as Brønsley. Do all the people from the Forge of War like to pat people on the shoulder?"
"And that Fandral, hasn't he slept in a long time? He looks so pitiful."
Ian ruffled its hair. "It's the Sun Throne, it doesn't need your pity."
Gaga tucked its head under its wings and stopped talking.
Ian stood alone on the terrace. The night sky over the city center was illuminated as if it were daytime by the seven towers, but the stars above were still clearly visible.
Tomorrow, he will be tested in front of three projections of true spirits.
Demonstrating only the dual cores of gravity and thermal energy should be enough to pass the test, but we cannot be complacent.
After all, they are three true spirits. They may not be able to see through the chaos, but they will definitely be able to sense something. How to deal with it then will depend on the situation on the spot.
Gaga stared at the stars overhead and asked softly, "Don't you like quiet? Why do you seem so happy today?"
Ian smiled slightly. "I've made quite a few new friends."
Gaga tilted her head and thought about it for a while, then realized it made sense. She found a corner and quickly fell asleep.
Ian stood on the terrace for a long time, until the stars above his head slowly shifted, before turning back inside.
