Malena noticed that Ian looked nervous, unlike his usual self.

"What happened?"

"On my way back, I was caught up by the severely wounded Nolan, so I had no choice but to run into the wilderness and kill him..."

As Malena listened, her eyes gradually widened, and her cherry-like lips remained open for a long time.

"You...you really killed Nolan? And you even stole the Flower of Tranquility?"

Marlena jumped up and stared intently at Ian.

"Could you please contact the sorceress Elivia? I urgently need her help."

After Ian finished speaking, he placed the bright red mark, which was emitting a faint glow, in front of Malena's eyes.

"This, this is a wizard's mark! How did you get this stuck on? Oh no... the other side seems to be locating you!"

Marlene's expression turned serious upon seeing the mark, and she lost all interest in mentioning the Flower of Tranquility.

"So could you help me contact the sorceress Alyvia? I suspect the owner of the mark is already on her way!"

Seeing that Ian was getting more and more nervous, Malena stopped talking and quickly went into the house to take out a green rune card.

"This is an emergency contact talisman that I received from Alyvia, but asking a wizard to help comes at a high price, so be prepared."

Ian nodded repeatedly. He had already thought it through on the way. Among his connections, only Malena could get a wizard to help him.

This is the fastest and safest solution. As for the cost, Nolan's net worth should be enough, right?

With a flick of her small hand, Malena shattered the green rune card, and a flash of green light disappeared as it flew rapidly toward the tower.

"Alright, just wait here. Don't leave my room until Lady Alyvia arrives."

Seeing that Malena also looked a little nervous, Ian nodded repeatedly.

Now, he won't respond to anyone who calls him to go out.

"Now you can tell me properly, how did you kill Nolan?"

Malena's eyes were filled with curiosity. Ian, a mid-level apprentice, had actually accomplished something that none of the four advanced apprentices had been able to do.

How strong is Nolan?

Clayton and Christine are still in bed recovering and will not be able to get back to normal for at least a month.

After Harvey cast his final spell, his mental energy was depleted, and the runes of will in his mind were vibrating. He needed to recuperate slowly.

She herself majored in natural magic and had the strongest recovery ability, but even she needed to recuperate for ten days to half a month.

"When Nolan caught up with him, he was already severely injured, with one hand broken and half of his body almost burned off."

"That's not something a mid-level apprentice like you can kill. Humph! I won't ask anymore; it's your privacy."

Marlena saw that Ian was being vague and didn't press him for details.

"Be careful in the future, just don't make anything too scary."

Ian knew this was a wake-up call; being too outstanding wasn't a good thing.

He was a potion genius to begin with, and being even more outstanding would not only bring him few benefits, but would also create a lot of trouble.

After Ian calmed down for a while, he took the wooden box out of his bag.

"This is what Nolan left behind in the end. Don't you think it's the Flower of Tranquility?"

He had read it himself and even improved his proficiency in "Basic Potion Identification".

Malena carefully took the box and slowly opened it.

Inside lay a black flower about the size of a bowl, its petals already dried out. This was the initial processing and would not affect the medicinal efficacy.

The flower has seven petals, evenly distributed and spreading outwards, shaped like the leaves of the Chinese medicine "Chonglou" from Ian's previous life, but this one is black.

Malena stared at it with a dazed look in her eyes, and finally closed the wooden box with some reluctance.

"It truly is a flower of tranquility. Ian, you are very lucky."

Ian looked somewhat helpless. "I'd rather not have this luck."

"You really mean it!" Malena looked up at Ian.

"Yes. I'll offer the Flower of Tranquility as a reward if Wizard Elivia helps me remove the mark."

Malena's heart raced. She wanted to agree immediately, but she held back.

"Let's talk about it when the adults arrive."

Although she felt that Lady Alyvia would definitely agree, out of respect for her, she did not give Ian a definite answer, after all, it was not she who made the move.

"Marlena, what is your relationship with the sorceress Alyvia?"

Ian had wanted to ask this question for a long time, and now was the perfect opportunity.

A look of reminiscence crossed Malena's face, and her voice was low.

"Lady Elivia is my mother's best friend. My mother passed away when I was very young, and I've lived with her ever since. She's been very kind to me."

"I'm sorry, Malena, I shouldn't have brought up your painful memories," Ian quickly apologized.

Malena shook her head. "I've lived in the Shadowmoon Tower since I can remember, and my memories of my mother are very blurry."

Ian suddenly remembered something, "The first time I came to the store, I saw a woman in a green robe there. How come I haven't seen her since?"

Malena gave Ian a flirtatious look.

"You have a good memory; you remember it so clearly after only meeting me once!"

Ian looked embarrassed and quickly waved his hands, "No, I wasn't, we were just chatting!"

"Hmph! Who knows what you're thinking?" Malena snorted, no longer teasing Ian, but also not answering Ian's question.

"Um... how are Harvey and the others doing now?" Ian quickly changed the subject.

"They're not dead yet, so don't worry." Malena seemed to realize her tone was off and added details about the others.

"Clayton and Christine are not seriously injured, so there's no need to worry. Generally speaking, there are ways to treat advanced apprentices unless they die on the spot."

"That's good." Ian thought to himself, these people didn't get anything, but they did get injured.

Perhaps this is the norm for wizards; not every effort will necessarily be rewarded.

Ian noticed that the necklace around Marlene's neck was shimmering, emitting an emerald green light through her clothes.

"Lady Alyvia has arrived." Malena's expression changed slightly, and she quickly got up and opened the door.

Ian also got up and stood next to Malena.

A moment later, a powerful pressure descended upon the Star Leaf Medicine Shop, causing a series of exclamations to erupt around it, which quickly subsided.

A familiar figure entered the room; it was none other than the wizard Elivia.

"Lady Alyvia, did I disturb your rest?" Malena stepped forward, took Alyvia's hand, and whispered a few words in her ear.

"The Wizard of Elivia!" Ian bowed in greeting.

"Sir, this is Ian, the potion maker in the shop. He has a favor to ask of you."

"Oh?" Alyvia looked at Ian, a thoughtful look in her eyes.

"I remember you. You took my class not long ago and sat in the last row."

There were hundreds of people in the classroom at the time, and even after so much time has passed, they still remember him. That's how terrifying a wizard's memory is!

"Yes, esteemed Wizard Elivia, I request your help to remove the mark from my hands."

Without saying a word, Ian quickly reached out his hand for Alyvia to examine.

Alyvia glanced at it and nodded slightly. "This is Douglas's mark. Did you kill his family or students?"

"Yes, one of his students was just killed by me by sheer luck."
