Food: Starting with Wonton Noodles

Chapter 5 The Zhang Family

Zhou Yu: "Actually, it's not that difficult. You can find anything on Xianyu (a Chinese online marketplace). Especially now, many people set up stalls on a whim and then stop halfway through. I can just quickly find something on Xianyu."

Uncle He: "Alright, just tell me if you need anything else."

Seeing that Lin Wenhui was almost finished eating, Zhou Yu also got up to take his leave.

He first returned to the apartment complex he had bought, put everything away, and then started cooking wonton noodles.

Zhou Yu bought a house in Huifeng Yayuan, which, along with his parents' house in Yujingwan, is located in the new urban area in the south of the city, while Zhongshan Road is in the old urban area in the north of the city.

So, in order to convince his family to have a better taste for the wonton noodles, Zhou Yu chose to cook them first in the apartment complex he had bought.

As for why Zhou Yu didn't move out and live with his parents...

Actually, it's quite simple; even Zhou Yu couldn't stand the terrible food he cooked.

Besides, you don't have to do housework at home!

If it's a rented house, then it doesn't matter how badly it's ruined.

But it's simply unacceptable not to clean the house you bought yourself.

......

When Zhou Yu returned to his parents' house, his mother had already begun preparing a meal.

Before Zhou Yu could even open the door, the two children who heard the commotion had already rushed to the door.

"It's Uncle! Uncle's back!" the little girl Huihui called out.

The little boy, Linlin, looked at the bag in Zhou Yu's hand and asked, "Uncle, what's this? Is it something delicious?"

Zhou Yu: "Mom, I'm back. I brought you some delicious food."

Zhou's mother: "We're about to eat, what are you buying to eat?"

Zhou Yu: "I bought He Ji's wontons to apologize to you."

Before Zhou Yu could even put the bag down...

Zhou Meiying (also known as Zhou Xiaomei) had already snatched her brother's bag and started checking it.

Fortunately, to put his family at ease, Zhou Yu specifically asked He Jiafu for the packaging bags and cutlery boxes he chose.

Zhou Meiying opened the box again and looked inside, but found nothing unusual, so she put the box down.

At this point, Linlin couldn't resist any longer and jumped up to grab it and eat it.

Zhou Yu picked up Linlin and placed her on a chair.

Linlin was like a wind-up toy monkey; before she could even sit down, she quickly picked up her chopsticks and started slurping away.

Zhou Meiying laughed and scolded, "Eat slowly, it's like I'm abusing you, you can't get enough to eat every day."

Turning to her brother, she said, "At least you have a conscience, you knew to buy things."

As he spoke, he picked up a bowl of wonton noodles and began to eat.

"Wow, has He Ji Wonton changed chefs? It tastes so much better now." After only two bites, Zhou Meiying's face was full of happiness. "It's so delicious."

He Ji Wonton is very famous in G City, but because it is all traditionally handmade, the daily sales volume is not large, and there is always a queue. So although Zhou Meiying likes to eat it, she has not been there too many times.

Huihui, who had initially looked skeptical, now became curious and asked, "Mommy, is it really delicious? I want some too."

Zhou Meiying placed a piece of food on her plate, saying, "Don't eat so much, or you won't be able to eat anything else later."

Huihui and Linlin have completely opposite appetites; Linlin eats everything, while Huihui doesn't like to eat anything except snacks.

Zhou Meiying was always troubled by her daughter's habit of only eating snacks, and she would complain every time she came home that her daughter refused to eat.

"It's actually easy to solve; you just need to eat less junk food yourself," Zhou Yu thought to himself. "Don't you know where she gets her junk food from?"

However, Zhou Yu, who had just failed to feed his nephew a truly awful meal, swallowed his words.

It cannot affect one's own plans.

"Actually," Zhou Yu said slowly, seeing that the two culprits who had persecuted him today had almost finished eating, "the wontons you ate were all cooked by me."

Huihui immediately spat out the food in her mouth, and said anxiously, "Mom, am I going to die?"

Zhou Meiying slapped her daughter and scolded, "Don't waste food! Could your uncle really cook something this delicious?"

As she spoke, she glanced at Zhou Yu again and said, "If you really cooked this, I'll eat dog poop from now on."

Zhou Yu grabbed Huihui and used Misae's classic trick, pulling on the little girl's cheeks and saying, "Tell me, did you skip your nap at noon and secretly go to tell on me?"

Huihui pouted angrily, trying to pull her cheeks back, but Zhou Yu pinched her nose, and she shrank her head again: "Who told you to feed your little brother poop?"

Seeing that hiding her head wouldn't escape Zhou Yu's clutches, she curled up and spun around like a top until she got off him. Once off, she ran straight towards Zhou's mother, crying, "Grandma, Uncle hit me!"

She was smart and didn't ask her mother for help. In fact, if Zhou Yu's cooking hadn't been so terrible, Zhou Meiying wouldn't have cared about Zhou Yu "bullying" the two little ones.

At this moment, Zhou's mother also came out of the kitchen. Seeing Huihui rushing to her, she said, "Alright, alright, I'll have Shanlao Xiong take your uncle away later."

"I really cooked it." Zhou Yu straightened his clothes, which Huihui had messed up, and proudly took out his phone. "Look."

He filmed the whole process of making the noodles.

"Take a look." Zhou Meiying took the phone with a disdainful look.

Seeing Zhou Yu hopping comically on a bamboo pole while pounding dough, she couldn't help but laugh: "Huihui, little brother, come and see your uncle pounding dough while riding a bamboo pole."

The two little ones snuggled into Zhou Meiying's arms, one on each side, exclaiming in surprise as they looked around.

One person exclaimed, "Wow! So wontons are made from bamboo?"

One of them said, "Uncle, can you buy me one too? I want to play with it too."

Zhou Yu tapped both of the little ones on the head with a diamond shape (hitting their foreheads with their index and middle fingers), and then said, "You want to play with everything, you're always tattling like your mother, and you even want to buy things for me."

Seeing that Zhou Xiaomei had looked at it enough, he prepared to show the phone to Zhou's mother.

But before Zhou Yu could hand over his phone, Zhou's mother gave him a large water chestnut.

She scolded, "Don't you know you shouldn't hit a child's head? You've made him stupid!"

When Huihui saw Zhou Yu being hit, she crawled out of Zhou Meiying's arms, clapped her hands, and laughed, "You naughty uncle, you bad uncle, all you do is bully children. Grandma did a good job hitting him, Grandma will hit him a couple more times."

Linlin was still in Zhou Meiying's arms when he asked innocently, "Mommy, will I become stupid?"

Zhou Meiying didn't even look up, continuing to eat her noodles, and said, "Yes, you're so stupid now, always getting tricked into eating random things by your uncle, because he beats you. Remember to make him support you from now on, understand?"

Linlin touched her head and frowned, looking very troubled.

"When did you learn to make noodles?"

Zhou's mother was very surprised when she saw Zhou Yu's skillful movements in the video.
