Food: Starting with Wonton Noodles

Chapter 13 "The Mischievous Child" Arrives

"Ugh, Uncle, you're so dirty!" Huihui said with a hint of disgust.

"Then why are you still hugging your uncle?" At this moment, Zhou Meiying also came over.

"No, even though Uncle is very dirty now, I don't mind!" Huihui had already loosened her grip on Zhou Yu's thigh, but after hearing Zhou Meiying's words, she pulled on Zhou Yu's clothes again.

"Didn't Linlin come with you?" Zhou Yu asked without stopping her work when she saw Zhou Meiying and the others arrive.

He felt he must have just heard his little nephew with the watermelon-head hairstyle, but he couldn't see him now.

But now that he's cooking noodles, he can't very well go find someone.

"Hey, didn't he come in?" Zhou Meiying wondered. She hurriedly looked for her son.

Then, Zhou Yu saw his younger sister covering her face in one direction, looking completely helpless.

Zhou Yu followed Zhou Meiying's gaze and saw his little nephew with the watermelon-head haircut staring wide-eyed at the people eating at the barbecue stall next to them.

He was staring at a girl with a round face and a slightly chubby build.

But clearly, he didn't charm the girl opposite him. The round-faced girl quickly finished the skewer in her hand and chewed it with her cheeks puffed out like a hamster.

After a while, my little nephew Linlin asked innocently, "Sister, what's this?"

"This is beef brisket." The round-faced girl tightened her bowl in front of her a little more and said, "Children can't eat this."

Linlin selectively forgot the second half of the sentence and asked curiously, "What is beef brisket? Is it tasty?"

"It's the meat from the cow's brisket, it's delicious! Kid, do you want to try some?" It was the girl next to the round-faced girl who couldn't resist first.

She handed Linlin a skewer with one hand, hiding the other, waiting for him to take the skewer so she could give his watermelon head a good rub.

Linlin swallowed hard and shook her head: "No, my mommy won't let me ask other people for food anymore."

The girl finally couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Oh, it's okay, this is for you, not for you."

Linlin swallowed again, wondering if this was what he wanted.

But before he could even figure out the difference, he felt a lightness in his body.

Unable to bear it any longer, Zhou Meiying ran over and lifted him up.

Then he kept apologizing to the girls at the next table: "The kid is so ignorant, I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry."

"Mommy!" Seeing that it was her mommy, Linlin hugged her neck happily and said, "Mommy, this lady said these skewers are delicious, but I didn't ask her for any. Wasn't I a good girl!"

Zhou Meiying was almost going crazy: "What's the difference between staring at other people like this and asking them for something? It's like I'm abusing you and not giving you anything to eat every day."

"Mommy, I want to eat that!"

Linlin started to act coquettishly towards Zhou Meiying.

"Yes, the little boy is so cute. This is what I gave him to eat, so let him have it," the girl next to him said with a smile.

Zhou Meiying felt utterly humiliated, so she had no choice but to buy two skewers from the barbecue stall owner.

Then she scolded her son: "If you want to eat, you have to ask your mother, okay? Even if you don't ask someone else, you can't keep staring at other people, understand?"

Linlin nodded, looking like she understood but not quite.

Returning to Zhou Yu's stall, she gave another skewer to her daughter Huihui, but Huihui only took one bite before saying she didn't want any more and returned it to Zhou Meiying.

Then, Linlin happily ate a skewer in each hand by herself.

"How did you get here?" Zhou Yu asked, seeing that Zhou Meiying had finally calmed down.

"I took them for a walk in the park, and then called my mother. They heard that you were setting up a stall here, and they insisted on coming to see you," Zhou Meiying said.

"Since you're here, help me wash the dishes." Zhou Yu only brought ten rooster bowls, which he had already used up.

"Can't you use a disposable bowl?" Zhou Meiying was a little reluctant, not expecting to be ordered around after coming all this way.

"There always needs to be a sense of ritual, right?"

After cursing, Zhou Meiying didn't refuse. She went to the restroom at Haojiaxuan convenience store and started washing the dishes.

"You two, stop causing trouble," Zhou Yu said to the two younger ones.

The two little ones nodded.

"Huihui, you are the older sister, so you need to watch over your younger brother and not let him wander off," Zhou Yu said to Huihui.

"Okay." Huihui rolled her big eyes and said, "But you have to buy me snacks."

"Okay, if you behave well today, we'll go buy snacks together after we close up shop."

The two little ones were happy.

Seeing that Linlin had almost finished the skewers in his hand, Zhou Yu apologized to the others and cooked a bowl of wonton noodles for his little nephew.

There's no way around it. If I don't let him have something to eat, he'll probably be attracted to some food and wander off again.

"Boss, two bowls of wonton noodles."

"Okay, just a moment."

"Could you deliver it to that barbecue stall over there?"

Zhou Yu looked up and saw the girl who had just been grilling skewers for Linlin. He nodded and said, "Okay."

After Zhou Yu agreed, the girl secretly ruffled Linlin's watermelon-shaped hair before leaving.

"Uncle, someone is trying to steal my brother!" Huihui shouted.

The girl's name is Chen Yun, and her roommate, a round-faced girl named Han Yuanyuan, is her roommate.

Chen Yun was startled by Huihui's loud shout at first, then squatted down and gently pinched Huihui's nose, saying, "Does my sister look like a bad person?"

Huihui blinked innocently and said, "Sister, you don't seem like a bad person. But Uncle wants me to look after my brother."

Zhou Yu took a moment to give Huihui a sharp tap on the head, saying, "Don't cause trouble."

Huihui grinned and made a face at Zhou Yu before pulling her younger brother to sit down beside her.

Back at the barbecue stall, Chen Yun asked Han Yuanyuan, "Yuanyuan, don't you like children?"

"No, it's just that I saw him staring at me, and I thought he was some naughty kid trying to steal my food." Han Yuanyuan said a little embarrassedly, "It's just that I saw him staring at me, and I thought he was some kind of brat trying to steal my food."

Thinking of how Linlin had been staring at Han Yuanyuan, Chen Yun couldn't help but laugh: "He's so small, how could he steal your food? But I know why he was looking at you."

"Why?" Han Yuanyuan asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Because watching you eat makes me really hungry! Haha!" Chen Yun said, laughing again. "So do you know why we all like going out to eat with you?"

"Because even when I'm unhappy, seeing you eat everything looks so delicious, and I just want to eat with you."

Han Yuanyuan puffed out her cheeks like a squirrel: "I think you're saying I'm fat."
