The spirits of the departed crew members

[Category]: Contaminated individuals

[Spirit]: -10

[Talents/Skills]:

Spiritual state: The body is in a spiritual state, and conventional physical damage is ineffective.

Tide: When a living creature is discovered, it emits a spiritual shriek, calling for other undead, forming a tide of the dead.

[Information]: They were once living, breathing crew members on the "Cape of Good Hope," but now the strange sea has twisted them into this inhuman, grotesque form. They have long lost their memories of their past lives, and now only have one instinct left—pain and the desire for an end.

"Kill me!!!"

With a mournful roar, the undead closest to Su Zhisu shakily pulled out the scimitar stuck in the deck and raised it.

Immediately afterwards, as if in response to its call, countless figures "seeped" out from every shadow on the deck and from every crack in the decaying planks.

"Kill me!!!" ×n

Desperate wails coalesced into a suffocating sonic wave that echoed through the deathly silent and eerie cave.

Faced with the terrifying tide of undead, Su Zhisu remained silent for a moment, then his eyes narrowed, and he held the harpoon with its cold light horizontally in front of his chest.

"As you wish!" he hissed, his voice carrying a hint of resolve.

Since it has already been revealed that resolving the resentment of the dead is the secret to clearing the dungeon, the best outcome for them is to help them find release.

Su Zhisu charged into the tide of the dead, his harpoon, burning with the flames of the Night Watch, swung into a whirlwind.

This was not a battle, but a one-sided massacre, a liberation.

For these undead crew members, the Night Watch Heart Flame was an absolute nemesis. Wherever the cold-light harpoon passed, the undead gates crumbled into ashes as ice and snow meeting the scorching sun.

Before they disappeared, they all bowed to Su Zhisu, as if silently thanking this kind stranger.

Su Zhisu was panting heavily. Although he was unharmed, the sheer number of undead had left him exhausted from the intense physical exertion.

[Network notification: You have leveled up, free attribute points +4]

Although the [Spiritual Body] talent of these undead crew members did not cause Su Zhixu too much trouble, he decided to distribute his 4 free attribute points equally between the physical and mental attributes this time.

[Player]: Su Zhisu

[ID]: Su

[Health Points]: 100%/100%

[Level]: lv.3

[Physical body]: 14+1

[Mental Strength]: 12+1

[Rationality]: 100/100

The level increase and stat allocation restored most of the stamina Su Zhisu had consumed.

Su Zhixu gripped the gleaming harpoon in his hand, cautiously surveying his surroundings. Although the spirits of the crew members had dissipated, the lingering resentment still made his heart pound.

I took a deep breath and stepped into the cabin.

The interior of the cabin was pitch black and eerily quiet. A deep green light shone in from the hole in the broken hull, casting Su Zhisu's shadow long and short, making it look sinister and terrifying.

The flame of the Night Watcher's Heart Lamp flickered slightly, illuminating the path beneath his feet.

Following the narrow staircase, Su Zhisu carefully descended to the lower level below the deck.

This is the gun emplacement, where three waterlogged cannons are scattered on the ground. These are clearly the remaining three cannons mentioned in the hidden information.

Su Zhisu tried to touch the three cannons, but they turned into particles of light and disappeared.

[Network Notice]: Completion reward has been added - 3 Water-Soaked Cannons

The air was filled with a musty smell, a mixture of gunpowder and seawater.

Just then, four figures slowly emerged from the shadows of the gun emplacement—the ghosts of four gunners.

Holding round, black cannonballs in their hands, they made no noise, but silently approached Su Zhisu.

Su Zhisu's eyes turned cold, and the Cold-Light Fish ignited with a ghostly blue flame.

"Let me help you find relief."

With a flash, he appeared before the first gunner undead, harpooning it directly into its chest, the Night Watcher's Heart Flame instantly engulfing it. The undead let out a weak wail before turning to ashes and vanishing into nothingness.

The remaining three undead gunners seemed to sense the danger, and their round, black shells began to glow with a dangerous light.

Startled, Su Zhisu hurriedly ran down to the next floor.

"Boom!"

A moment later, a loud bang echoed through the deep and eerie cave.

Health Points: 70%/100%

After dealing with these undead gunners, Su Zhisu was slightly injured, but he did not stop and continued to explore forward.

This is the crew's bedroom. Inside, there are long-rotten beds with soaking, decaying bedding scattered haphazardly on the floor.

He searched room by room, finally stopping in front of a tightly closed door.

The door was nowhere to be seen. On the wall next to the door, there was a line of small characters. Although they had been eroded and blurred, a few letters could still be vaguely made out.

Su Zhisu leaned closer to take a look and read the name on the door aloud: "Edgar Thorne".

Upon entering the room, a stench of decay assaulted the senses.

The room was simply furnished with a rotten wooden table, a decaying bed, and a dilapidated wardrobe.

Walking up to the wooden table, I found a leather-bound diary on it, which had obviously been soaked in seawater, and the pages inside were rotten beyond recognition.

Su Zhisu could only see a few fragmented pages of the diary.

May 1, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"Today is an unlucky day. We had just sailed out of Hydeland when a white fog rolled in on the sea. The captain's compass spun wildly, and we lost our way, which was to be expected."

May 5, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"The fog is getting thicker and thicker. It's been five days now, and we feel like we're trapped in a giant maze. The crew is getting restless. Some people claim to have seen huge shadows in the fog, and others have heard strange singing. I'm trying to calm them down, but even I'm not sure what's going on."

May 7, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"The nightmare began! This morning, the bosun went mad. He screamed that something in the sea was pulling at his feet, and then jumped into the sea. We tried to save him, but suddenly countless eerie and terrifying tentacles emerged from the water and dragged him into the deep sea. Everyone saw it, and the panic on the ship reached its peak."

May 9, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"What did we see? A piece of black glass!"

May 10, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"I feel so dizzy... We've been brought in by something black... We've fallen into... This is so strange. Everyone seems a bit off... My stomach feels a little uncomfortable."

May 11, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"The crew... went mad... they attacked each other... screaming!!! Something... is eroding... my brain!!! Shattered images... wreckage... cries... they keep replaying in my head!"

May 14, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"I'm dying. The crew are all dead. The ship is eerily quiet now. Well, it was eerily quiet enough as it was. The captain locked himself in his cabin from the beginning. He seems to know something..."

May 15, 1917 (Hydland calendar)

"This is my last diary entry... The spirits... have begun knocking on the door... My time is running out. In the end... I don't know if anyone will come..."

"Beside it... the wardrobe... the pocket watch. That was my fiancée... Liliana's... token of love. It's still there... Hydeland... she's... a good woman, I don't want... her... to be sad. If anyone..."

"Please take...the pocket watch...Hydeland, and find her...Liliana Thea. Tell her...you love her, but...there's no going back."

The diary ends abruptly here, with a few dried bloody handprints remaining on the last page.
