Douluo Continent: The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda? A Soul Beast Pagoda!
Chapter 40 Preparing for a Barbecue
Chapter 40 Preparing for a Barbecue
The next day.
After a quick wash and breakfast, Jiang Bai left the hotel and walked slowly toward the west of the city.
The further west you go in the city, the quieter the streets become.
This area is close to the Notting Junior Soul Master Academy, and most of the buildings here are residences for the academy's faculty and staff, or shops that serve the academy.
There weren't many pedestrians, and occasionally you could see a few students in gray college uniforms hurrying by, carrying books in their hands, their faces showing the youthful vigor and focus unique to teenagers.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, a tall archway appeared ahead.
Above the archway, four powerful characters are clearly visible in the morning light: Notting College.
It was during class time, and the school gate was quite quiet.
Only one uniformed doorman was leaning against the iron gate, yawning.
Jiang Bai did not go in directly.
He took out a gold soul coin from his storage bracelet, twirled it between his fingers, and the coin shimmered with an alluring luster in the sunlight.
He walked slowly toward the iron gate.
The gatekeeper heard footsteps, looked up, and was clearly taken aback when he saw Jiang Bai.
The young man before them was dressed in fine clothes and had an extraordinary air about him; he didn't seem to be a student of the academy, nor did he seem to be an ordinary visitor.
"Young master, what can I do for you?" The doorman stood up, his attitude fairly polite.
Jiang Bai gently tossed the gold soul coin in his hand into the air.
The doorman's eyes lit up instantly.
He subconsciously swallowed, his gaze shifting back and forth between the gold soul coin and Jiang Bai's face.
"I'd like to inquire about someone," Jiang Bai said calmly. "Is there a teacher in the academy named Yu Xiaogang? People call him Master."
"Master? Oh, you mean Master!" The doorman nodded repeatedly, his smile becoming obsequious. "Yes, yes, there is such a person. What do you need him for? Should I inform him?"
"No need," Jiang Bai shook his head. "I just want to know where he usually spends his time? Where's his office?"
The gatekeeper hesitated. According to regulations, he shouldn't reveal information about the academy's staff. But that gold soul coin was just too tempting!
He looked around to make sure no one was nearby before lowering his voice.
"The master—he usually stays in his office and rarely goes out. His office is located in—"
"However, he has a bit of a strange temper and doesn't like being disturbed."
"Okay, thanks." Jiang Bai didn't wait for him to finish speaking before tossing out the gold soul coin and turning to leave.
The gatekeeper quickly grabbed the gold coin, clutching it tightly in his palm, his face beaming with joy: "Young master, please take care! Come again if you need anything!"
Jiang Bai did not turn around.
He walked slowly along the outer wall of the college.
Walk to a street on the side of the college, where there are several restaurants and teahouses.
Jiang Bai walked into one of the cleanest-looking three-story restaurants, went straight up to the third floor, and asked for a private room by the window.
The private room wasn't large, but the window faced directly into Nottingham College, offering an excellent view.
From this angle, you can clearly see the side of the main teaching building.
Jiang Bai ordered a few dishes, and after the waiter finished serving the food and left, he closed the door of the private room and walked to the window.
He extended his right hand, palm facing upward. His soul power flowed, and a crystal-clear, seven-story glazed pagoda phantom slowly rotated in his palm. Then, the first story of the pagoda glowed with a crimson light.
The light subsided, revealing a small fire dragon with a crimson body and scales like lava.
The fire dragon shrunk to the size of a child, its four claws firmly gripping the windowsill, its crimson-gold eyes looking at Jiang Bai with a questioning gaze.
Jiang Bai pointed to the leftmost window on the third floor of the opposite college building: "Boss, do you see that window?"
The fire dragon followed his finger and nodded.
"There's someone in that office," Jiang Bai's voice was calm, yet carried a certain chill, "wearing a black robe, with a crew cut, looking like a middle-aged scholar."
The fire dragon tilted its head, not quite understanding its master's meaning.
"I need you to go and pay him a visit," Jiang Bai continued. "Fly in and breathe fire on him. Don't burn him to death; of course, if he's too weak and gets burned to death, that's not our fault. The point is to torture him, make him suffer!"
The fire dragon blinked and asked, "Master, why don't you go yourself?"
Jiang Bai paused for a moment before saying, "I'm afraid of getting hammered."
Fire Dragon: "————"
A distinctly human-like expression appeared in its crimson-gold dragon eyes.
"Are there powerful guardians there?" the fire dragon asked again. "Won't I get beaten up then?"
"What are you afraid of?" Jiang Bai patted the fire dragon's head. "Shrink a little more and fly over there. After you've set the fire, go straight back to the tower. Who will notice you? Even if someone does, they'll just think it was an accidental fire, or a prank by some fire-attribute soul master. Who would think it was done by a thousand-year-old soul beast?"
That seems to be true?
The fire dragon thought about it and felt that it made sense.
"Okay." The dragon nodded its little head. "I'll go right now."
Its body was enveloped in a crimson glow of soul power, and its size shrank again, making it look like a slightly larger, oddly shaped little red bird.
Then it flapped its wings and flew silently out the window.
After circling twice in the sky, it flew towards the window on the third floor of the opposite academy.
Jiang Bai stood by the window, watching the fire dragon disappear into the distance, his eyes deep and unfathomable.
This wasn't a fair and square method; it was even somewhat despicable. But he didn't care.
If Bibi Dong attacks him, then she has already committed suicide!
As her former lover, Yu Xiaogang also had a way to die!
Jiang Bai wasn't some saint. He believed in revenge and retribution. Since he couldn't defeat Bibi Dong now, he'd first collect some interest from her beloved.
Notting College, Yu Xiaogang's office.
Yu Xiaogang sat at his desk, with several thick notebooks and documents spread out in front of him.
-
He wore a faded black robe and had his usual crew cut.
His face remained stiff and expressionless, but upon closer inspection, one could detect a rare glint in his eyes.
An almost frenzied light.
These past few days have been the most spirited and exhilarating for him in many years.
Not only did they take in a disciple with innate full soul power, but they were also an excellent experimental subject with twin martial souls!
Not long ago, he personally took Tang San to the Soul Hunting Forest and helped Tang San obtain his first soul ring.
A 400-year-old Datura serpent perfectly complements Blue Silver Grass's control-oriented development path.
More importantly, this Soul Hunt thoroughly validated his brilliant theory!
At this moment, he is organizing the data and observation records from this soul hunt, preparing to incorporate them into his theoretical system.
He seemed to see the future: Tang San becoming a Title Douluo, his twin martial souls shocking the continent!
As Tang San's teacher, Yu Xiaogang was revered as the "Father of Theory." Invited back to the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan, he was treated as an honored guest by the Papal Palace. Those who had once looked down on him now bowed their heads and sought his guidance.
Just then, the light outside the window seemed to dim for a moment.
Yu Xiaogang looked up at the window in confusion.
"call--!"
A ball of blazing flame burst in through the window without warning!
The flames were crimson red and extremely hot. They instantly pierced through the half-drawn curtains and descended upon him!
Yu Xiaogang's pupils suddenly contracted!
For the first time, a clear and intense expression of terror appeared on that usually calm and expressionless zombie face!
He wanted to dodge, but his body reacted too slowly. Although he was a second-ring Soul Master, he was not good at fighting and his physical fitness was much worse than that of other Soul Masters of the same level.
"ah!!!"
A heart-wrenching scream rang out!
