Wizard: I have ten trillion nanomachines
Chapter 34 First Battle
Lokunlun trudged through the land littered with corpses toward Ashenvale. The stench of blood in the air grew stronger, and the carnage along the way changed slightly.
At first, the body was stiff, cold, and bluish-black, but later it was still warm, and blood was slowly seeping from the wounds.
The shadow of death pressed in like a receding tide, threatening to engulf the land completely.
The deaths of these people were horribly gruesome.
Some necks were twisted into bizarre right angles, skulls were dented, and ribs were broken one by one, clearly indicating that their bones had been crushed by superhuman strength.
Some had their chests ripped open, their hearts missing, while the wounds on their throats were smooth and clean.
Even demons wield swords?
Luo Kunlun muttered to himself, his eyes so deep they seemed to drip water.
The scene was hellish, unlike anything I'd ever seen before.
Such a chaotic massacre... the devil would never leave such marks of immense strength and the force of swords. In a flash, he reached a conclusion:
This is not the work of some demon, but rather the work of one or a group of inhuman madmen wielding force, indulging their bestial desires on this land.
Did the local lords do a good job? But if everyone dies, who will cultivate the land, who will labor, and who will support them?
After a day's journey, Luo Kunlun arrived at the original owner's hometown, Hande Manor, which was in his memories.
The manor I remembered finally came into view, but now it was nothing but ruins.
Most of the houses had collapsed, and charred beams lay crookedly on the rubble like the withered arms of a dying person. Unextinguished wood was still emitting wisps of black smoke, and the air was filled with a strong smell of burning and decay. The two smells intertwined to form a nauseating stench that almost churned one's internal organs.
Luo Kunlun stepped over the broken threshold, the rubble beneath his feet making a creaking sound. In the deathly silent manor where one could hear their own heartbeat, the sound was particularly jarring, like the low wailing of a dead soul.
Inside the manor, corpses lay scattered haphazardly, piled up in layers in the courtyard, corridors, and even beside broken windows.
Most of the men died from being crushed by immense force, their limbs twisted into impossible angles, their chests caved in as if crushed by a boulder, the broken bones piercing their flesh, and dark red blood soaking through their clothes.
The fate of the women and children was even more horrific. Some were buried under collapsed houses, with only half of their stiff arms or legs showing, and dirt and wood chips stuck in their fingernails.
Some were completely naked, pierced by thick, long wooden splinters, and hung precariously from wooden stakes in the courtyard, their eyes wide open, their faces still bearing the marks of extreme fear and humiliation.
Even infants still in swaddling clothes were impaled on their abdomens by crude spears; their tiny bodies were already cold, and blood dripped slowly down the wooden handle of the spear.
Luo Kunlun's gaze slowly swept over the corpses, and with each glance, the chill in his heart intensified, as if countless ice needles were piercing his nerves.
Underneath the ruins of a house, Luo Kunlun stopped. There was an acquaintance there.
It was Old Kela, the head of the estate who had hosted him back then.
The broken roof beam pressed heavily on his back, his fractured spine piercing through his thin clothing, blood and flesh still clinging to the white bone fragments. His eyes were wide open, as if still holding onto the shock of his last moments.
Beside his body were the remains of his wife and son.
The entire manor was eerily silent; even the chirping of insects and the calls of birds had vanished. There was no trace of life; only the shadow of death shrouded every inch of the land.
Several kilometers away in the dense forest, a huge energy hand appeared and disappeared amidst the swirling dust. Its five fingers suddenly tightened, twisting the last survivor, who had managed to escape or was playing cat and mouse, into a twisted shape.
The man's bones cracked and popped, his screams abruptly stopped, and then he was lifted up by that hand and hung on a bare tree branch.
"How boring."
In mid-air, the dwarf draped in a black cloak yawned lazily; he was none other than Graxsis, the instigator of this massacre.
He floated through the forest, his gaze sweeping over the trees laden with corpses, his face devoid of any emotion, only pure weariness.
Just as Graxis turned to leave, his sense of smell, enhanced by witchcraft and far surpassing that of wild beasts, caught a faint yet distinct scent of something unfamiliar.
"There are still some little bugs alive?" A cruel smile curled at the corner of Graxis's mouth, a hint of playful killing intent flashing in his eyes. "Dare to show your face now? You're just asking for death."
A wolf can smell scents two kilometers away when the wind is blowing, but his nose has been modified by witchcraft, making it several times more sensitive than a wolf's. Even a faint scent from several kilometers away cannot escape his nose.
Following that faint aura, Graxis transformed into a black afterimage and sped toward Hand Manor at a speed that almost tore the air apart.
"Ashvalanche... there probably aren't any survivors left."
As Luo Kunlun gazed at the ruins before him, the thought had barely crossed his mind when an uncontrollable rage surged within him like magma.
He wasn't some compassionate and benevolent person; he had killed people in his past and present lives. But what he had seen and heard along the way, those horrific scenes, would make even the most desperate criminals curse him as a beast!
Sympathy for the weak and the inability to bear seeing tragic fates are instincts ingrained deep within human beings.
Seeing these ordinary people being slaughtered like this, Luo Kunlun's brain seemed to feel that extreme pain as well, and the unbearable pain in his heart finally turned into a raging fire.
The instigators of all this, he or they, are not human at all, but a pack of damned dogs!
Luo Kunlun involuntarily gripped the broken steel greatsword in his hand, his knuckles turning white from the force, and the blade trembled slightly, as if echoing the anger in his heart.
Just then, a mocking and arrogant voice suddenly rang out overhead: "Heh, you ignorant mortal, thinking that just because you're wearing iron armor and wielding a heavy sword, you dare to challenge the great wizard Graxsis?"
Wizard? Spellcaster?
Luo Kunlun looked up abruptly and saw a dwarf wearing a black cloak floating ten meters in the air. The cloak fluttered in the wind, and the half of his face that was exposed was as pale as paper, with eyes full of contempt and cruelty.
Before he finished speaking, Graxis had already made his move, without wasting a single word!
With a level 0 spell, Wizard's Hand was instantly activated, and an invisible, enormous energy hand appeared out of thin air, suddenly closing like an iron clamp and tightly gripping Luo Kunlun's body!
Bang!
Under the immense force, the heavy armor on Luo Kunlun's body instantly emitted a piercing "creak" sound. The steel plates were squeezed and dented, and the sound of the metal twisting was enough to make one's teeth ache.
Immense pressure came from all directions, as if my bones were about to be crushed.
"Abnormal energy compression detected in your body. Please take evasive action immediately!"
The alarm bells of the nanomachines rang urgently in his mind, but there was no fear in Lokunlun's eyes.
A hint of disdain flashed in Graxis's eyes. In his view, this mortal would eventually be crushed into a lump of rotten flesh by the wizard's hand, just like the previous prey, leaving not even bones behind.
But the next moment, the smile on his face suddenly froze, and the contempt in his eyes was instantly replaced by astonishment!
"drink!"
Luo Kunlun let out a low shout, his voice booming like thunder, and the immense power hidden within him erupted instantly!
The muscles bulged and the bones emitted a dull "thunderous" sound, as if thunder was roaring inside the body.
Click!
That invisible, colossal hand, powerful enough to crush steel, was actually forced open by him!
Immediately afterwards, Luo Kunlun exerted force with both legs, instantly creating two craters in the ground beneath his feet.
With shards of stone flying everywhere, he leaped ten meters into the air like an arrow released from a bow. His nearly 100-pound broken steel greatsword swung in mid-air in a sharp arc, the wind howling and tearing through the air. With an invincible momentum, he slashed fiercely at Graxis!
Fast! Luo Kunlun's speed was beyond imagination, like a black lightning bolt slicing through the sky!
In an instant, the sword was already in front of Graxis, its sound like thunder and its speed like lightning!
How strong is the kinetic energy that can be generated when combined with a terrifying force measured in tons and a broken steel greatsword weighing nearly 100 kilograms?
Answer: The destructive power of Luo Kunlun, that is, the slashing force, will be multiplied by several times or even more than ten times!
The giant sword could shatter titanium alloy that was nearly ten centimeters thick, and now, this kinetic energy had struck Graxis squarely!
Click—!
A crisp cracking sound rang out, as if an invisible barrier had been forcefully cleaved open.
Graxis was struck as if by a heavy blow. The shock on his face instantly turned into extreme pain. His body turned into a black shadow and flew backward, as if he had been hit by a boulder. He crashed heavily into the ruins hundreds of meters away, stirring up a cloud of dust and sending rubble flying everywhere.
Luo Kunlun landed steadily on the ground, the rubble beneath his feet creaking once more. He frowned, recalling the sensation he had just felt, a question lingering in his mind:
"No, it felt like we hit some kind of solid barrier, rather than striking flesh directly."
"Is it some kind of defensive magic?"
Meanwhile, from the smoke and dust of the ruins, Graxis struggled to crawl out, a mouthful of black blood spilling from the corner of his mouth and slowly dripping down his pale cheek.
His face was filled with disbelief and horror; the cruelty and contempt he had shown before were completely gone, leaving only deep confusion and fear.
"How is this possible? How is this possible?!" Graxis wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his voice trembling.
Just a moment ago, he truly felt the breath of death, cold and piercing, a feeling he had never experienced since coming to this continent!
He clutched his throbbing chest, a storm raging in his mind: "My wizard's shield... shattered in a single blow?"
As a junior peak wizard apprentice, his strength far surpassed that of the knights on this continent who practiced outdated breathing techniques.
In his eyes, knights were nothing more than byproducts of wizards' research on magical beasts, and were weak and insignificant.
Especially on this almost forgotten continent, the breathing techniques cultivated by those so-called nobles are considered outdated and weak among the wizard servants!
Even so-called high-ranking knights could be easily killed by him with just a little effort.
But who exactly is this guy in front of me?
Could he be one of those wizard apprentices who specialize in physical modification and enhancement? Only in this way could he possess such terrifying power, shattering his wizard shield with a single blow!
