Wizard: I have ten trillion nanomachines
Chapter 28 Wizard
It took him ten attempts to kill all his opponents, and he was covered in wounds.
Although the nanomachines that simulated his opponents had the same reaction speed and no fear, Lokunlun still had a physical advantage over them.
"I need to keep practicing. What I need to do next will definitely involve facing multiple enemies at the same time, and I can only fight alone."
With this in mind, Luo Kunlun continued the simulated battle after drinking blood.
Fighting, resting, and dying are all opportunities to learn from experience and reflect on techniques. Victories are also opportunities to consider shortcomings and whether one can do better or even complete the game without taking damage.
Time passed quietly, and Luo Kunlun continued his cultivation deep in the mountains and forests.
Meanwhile, the outside world had undergone tremendous changes.
A month has passed since the defeat at the swamp battlefield. The Wimbledon family's territory appears calm on the surface, but undercurrents are surging beneath.
Oro Wimbledon sat in the study of the mansion, his fingertips tracing the family crest on the table, listening to his subordinates report on the progress of the cleaning.
In just one month, those loyal ministers who had served his elder brother were either executed with various "labels" or stripped of their power and exiled. He had firmly grasped the power of the entire family in his hands.
"Father, the giant bear's carcass has been transported to the secret base, and the craftsmen are processing it." William pushed open the door, his face filled with barely concealed excitement, but when he saw Oro's cold gaze, he subconsciously restrained his expression.
Auro stood up, straightened his luxurious silk robe, and said calmly, "Let's go take a look."
The secret base is hidden in a secluded cave within the territory.
The damp air was filled with the smell of blood and the grinding of metal, and a dozen craftsmen were busy around the giant bear's carcass.
Some used specially made axes to chop at the rock armor, sparks flying everywhere, while others carefully peeled off the bear skin, their movements as gentle as if they were handling a rare treasure.
Watching the craftsmen laboriously chop at the rock armor in preparation for slaughter, William couldn't help but say, "Father, this bear's meat is as hard as iron. Even if we process it, no one can eat it, right? It's practically useless..."
"Not very useful?" Auro interrupted him, walked to the bear carcass, and poked the bear meat with his finger. "You're still too young; you only see the surface of things."
"If you boil or stew this meat directly, it will be tough and chewy. But if you marinate it with salt, spices, and strong liquor, and then simmer it over low heat, the meat will become tender and delicious."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over William, his tone carrying a hint of instruction: "It's like those toothless old men eating fruit. If they can't chew it properly, they soften it by rubbing it before eating. When I was young, I attended court banquets, and the final dish, monster meat, was prepared in this way. It tasted delicious and was also nourishing."
William suddenly realized and nodded quickly, "Father is right."
"Remember this," Oro's voice turned serious, "you will be the heir to the family in the future. Strength is important, but intelligence is even more important."
"The flesh and blood of this giant bear will definitely lose some of its efficacy after processing, but it is still a rare and highly nourishing food. If you eat a bowl of it every day, you can steadily advance to the rank of intermediate knight in ten years at most."
He then pointed to the craftsmen working on the bear claws and continued, "And these bones and claws can be used to forge sturdy armor and sharp weapons."
"At that time, you can use bear meat to train servants and confidants, and then arm them with equipment made from magical beast materials as a guard. The family's combat strength will not only make up for the losses caused by the war, but also reach a new level."
At this point, a glint of fanaticism flashed in Auro's eyes: "The value of magical beasts is truly astonishing; otherwise, my foolish older brother wouldn't have lost his life for a bear!"
"Indeed," William quickly agreed, his admiration for his father growing even stronger.
Just then, a shrill voice suddenly came from a corner of the cave, interrupting the father and son's conversation: "Tsk tsk, I wonder if you'll live to enjoy this monster's corpse."
Oro and William turned their heads at the same time, their expressions changing drastically. In the shadows of the cave, a dwarf was standing there.
He was less than 1.3 meters tall and wore a gray-black cloak, making it impossible to see his face clearly.
"Who are you? How did you get in?" Auro shouted sharply, his hand instantly pressing on the hilt of his sword at his waist.
The secret base was heavily guarded, and this dwarf was able to sneak in silently, which shows he was no ordinary person.
The dwarf slowly lifted a corner of his cloak, revealing half of his wrinkled face. His skin was as yellow as withered tree bark, but his deep blue eyes shone with an astonishing brightness. When he glanced at Oro and his son, his eyes were filled with the arrogance of looking down on ants.
"You are not worthy to know my name." His voice was shrill and thin, like scraping porcelain. "Hand over the giant bear's demonic blood, and then go and find twenty girls under the age of fifteen and send them to me. If I am satisfied, perhaps I can let you die a quicker death."
The dwarf spoke casually, as if he were talking about something perfectly ordinary.
Upon hearing this, William instantly flew into a rage.
As the heir to an earldom, when has he ever suffered such humiliation?
"You dog, how dare you give me orders!" he roared, drawing his knight's sword with a sharp, whistling sound as he slashed at the dwarf's head.
This lowly dwarf, who only has a bit of stealth ability, dares to spout nonsense here?!
But the next second, William's movements suddenly froze.
He felt as if the air around him had solidified into invisible shackles, and a tremendous force surged from all directions, gripping his body tightly.
"Dare to draw your sword against the great wizard Graxsis?" The dwarf's voice turned cold, a hint of crimson flashing in his dark blue eyes. "Mortal, you have chosen the most foolish path to death."
Before the words were finished, a crisp "crack" echoed throughout the cave.
William's body suddenly twisted at an eerie angle, his ribs and spine shattering instantly, the protruding bone fragments even piercing his armor, and blood gushed out from the gaps like a fountain, splattering all over the ground.
His eyeballs bulged out suddenly, his mouth was wide open but he couldn't make a sound, and his whole body was like a crushed tomato, limp and collapsed on the ground, the flesh and blood inside the knight's armor already mixed into a puddle of mud.
"A spellcaster! He's a spellcaster!" Auro's heart felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand, and fear instantly overwhelmed him.
Anger had long been replaced by the instinct for survival. Oro didn't even dare to look at his son's miserable state and turned to run wildly towards the cave exit.
He only wanted to escape this devil, even if it meant living for just one more second; he had no courage to draw his sword against the man who killed his son.
Because that would be suicide!
Even the most powerful knight is nothing more than a mere mortal, while the spellcaster is either a demon or a god!
But how can a human possibly fight against a demon or a god?
"Run? Do you think you can escape?!" Graxis sneered, raising his right hand slightly and giving Oro's back a push.
An invisible force suddenly erupted, slamming into Auro's back like a heavy hammer.
Oro didn't even see the trajectory of the attack before he was sent flying backward like a kite with a broken string. He crashed into the cave wall with a loud bang, his body embedded in the hard rock. The cracking sound of his bones breaking could be heard from a great distance.
Blood gushed from the corner of Oro's mouth. His internal organs had been displaced by the shock. He struggled to lift his head and looked at Graxis, who was walking slowly towards him. His eyes were filled with despair. Finally, his head lolled to the side and he breathed his last.
The cave fell into a deathly silence, broken only by the suppressed breathing of the craftsmen.
A dozen or so craftsmen slumped to the ground, some trembling, some so frightened they wet themselves, none of them daring to even look up at Graxis.
Graxis's gaze swept over the trembling craftsman, his tone turning icy again: "Alright, Graxis doesn't want to ask a second time."
"Hand over the monster's blood, or else—"
Graxsis raised his right hand again, and an invisible force instantly gripped the nearest craftsman.
Before the craftsman could even scream, his body exploded like a bursting balloon, turning into a pool of blood and flesh that splattered all over the surrounding craftsmen.
The stench of blood instantly became so strong it was nauseating. An older craftsman could no longer bear it and scrambled to his knees, his voice trembling uncontrollably: "M-My lord! There really isn't any demonic beast blood! When we brought the giant bear back, its arteries had already been severed, and it had bled to death!"
Graxsis frowned, a hint of impatience flashing in his dark blue eyes: "That's it? You're lying to me?"
An invisible force instantly gripped the craftsman's throat, his face turning purple as he struggled wildly.
"Really...really, there wasn't any!" another craftsman cried out, trying to explain. "We can all testify! When it was brought back, the giant bear didn't have any extra blood on it! The person who took the blood...must have been someone who participated in the battle!"
"Yes, yes, I heard that several families participated in that hunt; maybe they were the ones who took the blood!"
Someone said in a hurry
Graxis stared at them for a few seconds, a scrutinizing glint in his deep blue eyes, before releasing his grip once he was sure they weren't lying.
The old craftsman collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, tears and snot streaming down his face.
Graxis said nothing more and turned to walk towards the cave exit.
Just as I reached the cave entrance, a series of crisp sounds of bones and flesh shattering and a piercing scream suddenly came from behind me.
The remaining craftsmen were instantly turned into a bloody, mangled mess.
