Ancient Wizards: A Little Progress Every Day

Three days later, Dago reappeared in the mission hall of the tower.

The bald wizard followed him like a shadow, as if he had completely clung to Dago, like a persistent ghost.

As usual, Dago ignored him, gently placed the gray package containing thirty sacs of Windstorm Bee Guardian Honey on the counter by the window, and beckoned to the familiar short-haired girl to deliver the task to him.

"You're here?!"

The short-haired girl had a strong impression of Dargo, and when she saw him, she had a surprised and delighted expression on her face, as if she was very happy to see him.

But soon, Dago watched helplessly as the color drained from her rosy face, and as she stared at the task register in her hand, her face turned deathly pale, and even her lips trembled.

"I... I made a mistake about the items required for this quest."

The short-haired girl stood up from her seat with a blank look in her eyes, and muttered listlessly, "What the publisher wants is not the guardian bee's honey sac, but the guardian bee's eyes."

Under Dago's cold yet furious gaze, she suddenly burst into tears.

The short-haired girl burst into tears, sobbing as she apologized to Dago.

Dago was completely taken aback by the other party's reaction and stood there stunned for a moment.

"Dave! What happened?"

At the quest window next to him, a male wizard in a silver robe suddenly stood up and cast a cold, unfriendly glance at Dago.

Many wizards coming and going in the mission hall stopped and looked over.

Dago felt inexplicably irritated, but he had to force himself to remain calm.

"This isn't entirely your fault."

He calmly smiled at Dave, offered a few words of comfort, and finally said, "It seems I'm really having a run of bad luck lately and am not really suited to taking on missions. I'd better go back and rest for a few days first."

After saying that, Dago turned and left. The crying, short-haired girl, Dave, called after him, but he seemed not to hear her at all and disappeared in an instant.

His speed was so fast that even the bald wizard temporarily lost sight of him, and for a moment he was spinning in place.

The short-haired girl, Dave, gradually stopped sobbing until Dago's figure completely disappeared.

Dave took a few steps back, disappearing into the shadows by the window, then took out a communication crystal from her waist and gently lit it in her hand.

"My lord..." she whispered to the communication crystal, a mature and playful smile appearing on her apple-like, delicate face.

"I feel like I can trick him a few more times."

"Maybe I can make him fall in love with me. He looks so easy to fool. Maybe in less than half a month, he'll be wagging his tail and circling around me like a lapdog."

As Dave spoke to the person on the other end of the communication crystal, she lazily admired her beautiful nails with a smile.

In a casual turn, her gaze swept across the window and fell upon a pair of deep blue eyes that were calmly watching her.

The chilling coldness in those eyes made Dave freeze instantly, her smile solidified on her face, and her complexion gradually turned pale.

"You! Didn't you leave?"

"When I got to the door, I thought about it and realized that one shouldn't be easily defeated by temporary setbacks, so I came back."

The owner of the azure eyes said with amusement, "Unfortunately, I've stumbled upon another side of you beneath your mask. Remember, next time you're chatting with someone, don't speak so loudly."

The person outside the window leaned down slightly, revealing a handsome yet cold face through the small window.

He looked calmly at Dave before him and said, word by word, "Do I really look that easy to fool? A lapdog wagging its tail?"

Dave, pale-faced, pursed her lips and was about to speak when a violent aura suddenly erupted at the window.

It was accompanied by a loud thud as something heavy struck.

"boom!"

The metal window frame was smashed so hard it dented inwards, and the girl with short green hair screamed in terror.

"You bitch!"

Dargo, his face contorted with rage, slammed his fist against the window again. A man's furious shout came from beside him: "What are you doing?! Dave, are you alright?"

"roll!"

Dargo coldly uttered a murderous remark, and the wizard who was about to walk over instantly froze, his expression stiffening.

With those two punches, Dago released much of the pent-up frustration and anger in his heart. He took a deep breath and regained his composure.

The greatest evil in human nature is to make things as difficult as possible for others within the smallest of one's own rights, sparing no effort to create trouble and obstacles for them.

"The window repairs have been done properly, otherwise your head shouldn't have been short; it should have been covered in grass."

Dago coldly uttered a sentence, ignoring Dave's expression, which was a mixture of fear and astonishment, and walked straight to the nearest other mission window.

He didn't even look closely; it seemed he had just casually accepted a task before striding out of the mission hall.

We left the tower and left the city.

Dago rushed towards the mission location.

The mission takes place in a small mine under the control of the Ring of Law forces. The mission is quite difficult, requiring the killing of a late-stage Ring of Law monster inside while ensuring that the mine does not collapse.

The task was issued by the Temple of Wisdom, and it was a specialized intermediate-level task that offered a lot of contribution points upon completion.

Dago stood outside the mine, closed his eyes, and carefully sensed the faint, yet unmistakable, gaze watching him from behind; it was still there.

Then he opened his eyes and stepped into the mine with a cold expression.

He had only just stepped into the secret realm when a figure slowly appeared not far from the entrance.

With pale skin, thin lips, and a bald head, he exuded the powerful spiritual energy fluctuations of a late-stage first-ring wizard, yet he gave off a cold and mean feeling. The phantom behind him seemed to be a venomous snake that had just crawled out of a dark and damp place.

It was the bald wizard who had followed Dago for several days.

At this moment, a layer of transparent, thick energy substance was constantly receding from his body. The parts of his body still covered by this substance had almost completely blended into the surrounding environment and were difficult to distinguish.

The bald wizard stared in the direction where Dago had disappeared, took out a communication crystal that faintly glowed with runes from his storage pouch, and spoke.

"Jarridon's methods have been exposed, he must be furious."

"This kid has taken on a mid-level mission and is already inside."

"Don't worry, I know what to do."

The bald wizard put away the communication crystal, and the flowing transparent substance around his body enveloped him once again.

This was also his biggest advantage in daring to follow Dago so openly and recklessly.
