Ancient Wizards: A Little Progress Every Day
Chapter 65 Rose Inn
Young Stuio mustered his courage to meet Dagobo's blue eyes, a bright smile spreading across his face.
"It would be my pleasure to serve you, esteemed wizard."
You can just call me Dago, Stuio.
"Yes, Lord Dago."
As Dago passed by a two-story villa filled with rose gardens, he made a point of glancing at it a few times.
A fountain adorned with runes, a statue of an old man covered in thorns, and two beautiful maids with fair skin tending to the roses in the garden.
Soon, Stuart led him through the streets and alleys, until they arrived at an ordinary hotel in a residential area of the city.
When Dago saw the inn's sign, he was momentarily stunned for no apparent reason. He subconsciously recalled the wizard's inn in the town of Aenark that didn't even have a name.
Dago remained silent, lost in his brief recollection.
"Lord Dago," Stuart called out.
He then came to his senses.
Rose Inn.
The signboard is inlaid with some luminous rune crystals, but unfortunately several of the rune crystals are cracked and have a dull color mixed in.
This was the place Stuio had brought him to. Dago asked, "How much is the monthly rent?"
Stuart's expression turned serious, and he replied, "The normal daily rent here is one low-grade magic stone, and the monthly rent is twenty low-grade magic stones."
As Dago listened to Stuart's account, he couldn't help but sigh. Compared to the monthly rent at the wizard's inn in the town of Aynak, the monthly rent here was even more outrageous.
But Aynak is a remote place, currently within the Stranglethorn Ring, and still protected by rune arrays.
The entrance fee to the floating city alone costs one mid-level magic stone.
Dago thought for a moment and replied to Stuio, "Eighteen per month, if possible, just pay the rent directly."
"Then I'll go inside and talk."
Stuart ran quickly into the Rose Inn and talked to their front desk for a while. About three minutes later, he ran out again.
"They agreed."
Stuart said to Dargo, "And the hotel offers buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner; you just need to eat at the designated times."
They even provide meals?
Dago was a little surprised; when you calculate it this way, it's actually a pretty good deal to settle down here.
He nodded in agreement and walked into the hostel with Stuart.
Upon entering, the reception area is small, with an old but clean carpet on the floor and a glass crystal chandelier above.
A middle-aged man and a girl stood behind a long counter, watching them.
As soon as Dago entered, the freckled girl immediately came out from behind the counter and ran towards the two of them.
"Welcome, esteemed wizard."
The girl looked at Dago with a slightly infatuated expression and said...
Dago nodded to the middle-aged man who was clearly the shop owner. After paying a month's rent, he was led upstairs to check in.
Dago looked around at the room he was about to stay in.
It was smaller than he had expected, but though small, it had everything he needed.
Looking out the window, there was a large rose garden, with many even growing on the windowsill.
Dago seemed fairly satisfied. He nodded to the boss, handed him two low-grade magic stones, and said, "This room will do."
Afterwards, the two went downstairs together and saw Stuart chatting happily with the freckled girl at the front desk.
His father's face darkened, and he was about to scold Stuart.
At this moment, Dago stepped forward, beckoned Stuart over, and handed him two low-grade magic stones.
He told Stuart that he could finish his work early for the day, and the remaining magic stones would be his tip.
The owner of the Rose Inn stopped saying anything and instead pulled his daughter aside to whisper something to her.
With Stuo looking at him gratefully, Dago went back upstairs to his room.
"We've finally settled in."
Dago sighed softly, then sprawled out on the sofa in the room in a relaxed pose, completely at ease.
A month-long trek, and after a life-or-death battle.
Dago's physical condition was fine; he hadn't suffered any serious injury, but he was mentally exhausted.
All he wanted to do was get a good night's sleep, but he still had some things to finish.
After lying down for a while, Dago got up and went into the bathroom.
There was a silver half-length mirror inside, and Dago looked at himself in the mirror.
With fair and delicate skin, the lines of her face have become softer and more perfect, making her features appear much more refined.
If you look closely in the mirror, your skin has a subtle "glowing" effect.
His body surface emanated a very small and weak elemental "force field," so that almost no dust could settle on it.
"Is this the effect of the Resonance Technique's transformation?"
Dago touched his cheek and muttered to himself.
After removing all my clothes, I went into the bathroom to shower.
The warm water flowed quickly down my skin, but like the hydrophobic layer of a lotus leaf, it left no trace.
Even his black and white hair is the same; now he takes a bath just to relive the loneliness.
He just wanted to maintain his image as someone who liked hygiene and good quality.
After a perfunctory bath, Dago emerged from the bathroom in a clean robe and brought up the system panel.
【"Dago's Grey Sun Meditation" (Extreme); "Ice Core Cruise Missile" (Extreme); "Elemental Resonance" (Extreme); "Dimensional Detection" (Extreme); "Potion Making" (Beginner 18/1000)】
Dago did not waste this month; aside from traveling, he spent most of his time meditating and practicing spells.
His progress in all spells was maxed out, except for "Potion Making," which he simply couldn't grind for.
After the transformation of "Elemental Resonance Technique", the ice element has penetrated deep into his flesh and blood, and has begun to modify his flesh and blood. He has gone further and further on the path of humanity.
However, his white hand still hasn't disappeared, which is a little bit of his quirky hobby.
Ice Core Cruise Missile is undoubtedly a brand-new trump card spell that combines crowd control and lethal damage.
The "Dimensional Detection Technique" evolved a third eye, allowing it to directly observe changes in the spatial veil.
"The most pressing issues to resolve right now are the Soul Imprint and the inheritance; otherwise, I'll be wasting the system's potential."
Dago went to the sofa in the room and lay down again, staring at the ceiling and thinking quietly.
Because he lacks these two things, Dargo can't be considered a true, formal wizard until now.
Without systematic instruction or guidance, they fumbled around like headless flies, sometimes not even realizing when they got lost at scale two.
Like Darkblood Councilor Flax, in the end, can he still be himself?
Extreme hatred, twisted desires, insane violence, and morbid pleasure—all these extreme emotions can attract the demonic entity of Scale Two to possess it, plunging it into madness.
This is the price of becoming a wizard: gazing into the abyss will inevitably lead to being gazed into by the abyss.
The reason this world did not collapse is because the Origin Moon Artemis protected every ordinary person on Scale Two, even though they also lost the opportunity to become wizards.
"At least he's better than some old weasel," Dago thought to himself.
His current plan is to join the Thorn Ring and then obtain the legacy through the Ring.
