Xiong Jie and Feng Shuang moved slowly along the poor earth mountain.

This is a very boring process.

At times like these, only by speaking can one feel alive.

So Kyosuke sent a call invitation to Kazama.

Fengshuang refused.

Kyosuke, exasperated, shouted, "Let's talk!"

Fengshuang continued to refuse.

Kyosuke had no choice but to give up on the conversation and said to Fusou, "Let me tell you my story."

Kyosuke is usually a man who doesn't like to talk, and he doesn't like to talk about the past. He's also been feeling depressed for too long because he's been walking around the poor mountain for too long.

Fengshuang was naturally very curious about Xiongjie's past and said he was willing to listen.

Kyosuke knew that talking more would be good for his mindset, so he began to recount: "That was four years ago. Back then, Professor Oak, who was the one I was helping out in Pallet Town, held an event."

At this point, Kyosuke stopped digging in the ice with his ice axe and smiled.

This smile was one that Fengshuang had never seen before; it was Kyosuke's most natural and genuine smile. Fengshuang didn't interrupt Kyosuke, but quietly watched him.

A sudden gust of wind woke up Kyosuke.

Kyosuke suddenly realized he had been daydreaming. Coming back to his senses, he continued speaking to Kazesui while hurrying on his way: "That event back then was truly an amazing experience, and it made me decide on my path as a trainer."

As he reminisced, Kyosuke failed to notice Kazama's strange expression.

"Back then, I encountered... wait! Something seems off!"

The wind was incredibly strong! Kyosuke felt that if he were standing, he might be blown away!

Looking up, Kyosuke realized that even though it was almost noon, the sky was still completely dark!

Because he had started his journey before dawn, Kyosuke did not notice the unusual lighting.

Thick clouds blocked out the sky, preventing the sun from shining, which was why it felt so oppressive earlier.

"Frost, let's wait here for a while. We can't go any further." Kyosuke called out to Frost, plunging his ice axe deep into the ice and gripping it tightly with both hands to secure it.

Sure enough, before long, more and more people flew overhead, but they were all out of control. Even those who summoned Flying-type Pokémon were only able to keep flying in the strong winds.

Thinking about the sheer number of people involved in this operation, Kyosuke's heart grew even heavier.

Of these hundreds of trainers, how many will survive in the end? Most of them are trainers with some fame.

This operation will further weaken the strength of the Kanto region.

Oh, and there's also the little princess from the Chengdu region. This could even cause diplomatic problems.

Is this the allure of mythical beasts? They draw people from one region and even other regions to them.

Kyosuke finally realized the gap between himself and the divine beast. It was easy for the beast to change the weather of a mountain, and he was still far from being able to physically defeat a god.

But I won't give up easily.

After all the flying objects in the sky disappeared, the wind actually got stronger.

Kyosuke was also unaware of what was happening ahead, unsure whether to move forward, stay behind, or if it was time to leave.

Kyosuke glanced at Kazesaku beside him. Sometimes, Pokémon's senses are far more acute than humans'.

Feng Shuang shook his head without saying a word, only looking solemnly upwards.

Kyosuke remained silent, quietly sensing the rumbling sound.

Kyosuke, however, thought of a possibility: Could it be an avalanche?

If that's true, then it would be really hard for the other people to survive, and their Pokémon would suffer the same fate.

Especially in situations like these, selfish people are more likely to want their Pokémon to die along with them, or even have their Pokémon hold them off just so they can live a few more minutes or seconds.

Pokémon are much faster than ordinary people, so if they run away at full speed, they have a good chance of escaping.

However, Kyosuke is now almost certain that Articuno caused the avalanche up there, but he still hasn't seen a single Pokémon running down the mountain.

Kyosuke naturally understood the character of these people.

This is the person Kyosuke despises the most.

However, for Kyosuke, he also had a backup plan for the avalanche, so that even if his escape route was blocked, he could still leave.

Of course, even without a backup plan, he could survive on his own, so he is still moving forward and not retreating.

Now that we've confirmed Articuno is up there, how can we not go take a look?

This was the closest he had ever come to a mythical beast.

The rumbling grew louder and louder. Kyosuke hadn't even reached halfway up the mountain yet, but according to his calculations, the avalanche would reach him in no more than a minute.

Knowing that he had to be careful in this situation, Kyosuke pulled out a Poké Ball: "From now on, it's up to you..."

Suddenly, the wind and frost cried out towards the distance!

Kyousuke, bewildered, looked in the direction Kazesou was looking and saw a ball of flame rushing toward him at high speed.

Flame Wheel

Fire-type physical moves

Kyosuke instantly saw through the true nature of the flame.

"On this barren hill, the only creature that can use the Flame Wheel is the Cyndaquil. Why is it here?"

While it was thinking, Cyndaquil charged straight at Ice Eevee.

Fire-type attacks deal double damage to Ice-type attacks, so Kyosuke naturally wouldn't let Frost get hurt in this environment. He quickly stood in front of Frost and then used Cyndaquil's Flame Wheel.

The Cyndaquil was not a high-level creature and stopped before it could cause too much damage to Kyosuke. After looking around, it prepared to continue running.

Kyosuke understood that even if he ran as fast as he could, the avalanche would only accelerate, and he would eventually be overtaken. Running on the ground was the least likely way to escape.

"You can't escape like this," Kyosuke couldn't help but say.

He couldn't bear to see the Pokémon exert all its strength only to have it all in vain.

The Cyndaquil stopped spinning, but the flames behind it didn't go out. It turned around and looked at Kyosuke.

"Nemo Nemo, Nemo Nemo."

After saying that, he continued on his way.

"You mean, your trainer made a promise to you that they would definitely find you again?"

Kyosuke knew that the little girl was likely in grave danger.

But he understood that this agreement, this agreement that could even ruin a Pokémon's life, was a struggle for both sides at the moment of making the decision.

He thought of the line, "Kyosuke, I miss you so much."

Kyosuke's resolve hardened instantly. He quickly picked up the Cyndaquil, which was about to start running, and pointed its head towards him: "I will definitely, absolutely, fulfill your promise."

"Next, I'm counting on you, Mai!" She tossed the Poké Ball, and out came Butterfree!

Having experienced the trials of superpowers, Kyosuke believes that Mai can withstand the wind and snow and fly freely in the sky.

And Mai never disappointed Kyosuke.

With the frost gone, Kyosuke scooped up Cyndaquil with one arm, jumped onto Mai's back, and then used his hand to steady himself. He whispered to the Cyndaquil in his arms, "Well then, let's go."
