The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

48. Listening to the story told by the uncle next door

In the arena, Mujou and Alakazam were locked in a stalemate, while the trainers appeared relaxed and at ease, and serious and solemn.

Both Pokémon were at full strength, and Mai was still fully buffed, but for some reason, Kyosuke still had a feeling of unease.

"Wu, don't be afraid, aim at Alakazam and use Insect Chirp!" If only we could solve it directly.

However, things are certainly not that simple.

"Alakazam, wrap your ears with psychic powers, then use Teleport!" Sabrina issued a targeted command.

How could a Bug-type move like Bug Chirp be solved by simply blocking ears and teleporting? Kyosuke feels this round is relatively stable.

Just then, Wu suddenly stopped chirping! Then her body swayed and she could barely maintain flight!

Alakazam suddenly appeared from behind Mai and fired a Phantom Beam that hit Mai directly!

"When Alakazam uses psychic powers and teleportation, there's absolutely no way he can be distracted to attack Mai, so that means..."

"Naza, it's you!"

"So what if it's me?" Naz said with a smile.

"Isn't this a fair Pokémon battle? What are you doing interfering like this?" Kyosuke angrily questioned.

"Trainers are part of the battle too, rookie trainer. Let me show you that, hahaha." Although Sabrina's smile was charming, Kyosuke felt a chill in his heart.

Watching Mai struggle to take flight only to be slammed to the ground by telekinesis, Kyosuke knew it was Sabrina's power, not Alakazam's. Alakazam's power was far greater than Mai's.

"Since that's the case..." Kyosuke wasn't going to stand on ceremony! Although he was being restrained, he wasn't someone to be trifled with!

Suddenly, a middle-aged man wearing an old-fashioned overcoat and a worker's hat appeared in front of Kyosuke.

"You can't beat her, give me your heart and let's get out of here!" He said this nonsensical thing as soon as he appeared.

Although he had his back to Kyosuke, Kyosuke knew that the message was directed at him.

There was no time to hesitate at this point, so she immediately withdrew her dance. Although she had fully charged her status with multiple butterfly dances and reached her strongest state, she was still unable to defeat Alakazam without dealing with Sabrina.

Just as he finished dancing, Kyosuke suddenly sensed a shift in time and space!

Kyosuke felt weightless, but still adjusted his angle in the air and landed steadily on the ground. Looking around, he found himself outside the Saffron Gym, an ordinary park that Kyosuke had seen before.

On the other side, Sabrina also retrieved Alakazam, smiling and murmuring, "Daddy, how many more times can you escape?"

In the park, the uncle who had just led Kyosuke out of the dojo was about to leave when Kyosuke stopped him.

"Don't go, uncle, I still have questions to ask you." Kyosuke grabbed the uncle's wrist with one hand.

The older man didn't turn around; he simply tried to use his telekinesis to control and release Kyosuke's hand, but it didn't work.

He prepared to teleport away, but his hand was grabbed and Kyosuke's mind was on high alert again, so he failed.

Turning around helplessly, the middle-aged man addressed the man clinging to him, "Young man, what exactly do you want to ask?"

"You're a psychic too, right? Why don't you join Sabrina's side?" Kyosuke asked. He had assumed that all the psychics in Goldenrod City had submitted to Sabrina, but it turned out that the one who took him away from that place was also a psychic.

Upon hearing about Natsumi, the uncle decided not to leave. He sat down on a park bench with Kyosuke, looking melancholic with an expression that seemed to say, "I have a story to tell, come and ask me."

Kyosuke naturally didn't ask any questions, just waiting for him to speak up.

The two big men sat on the park bench for a few minutes.

In the end, the middle-aged man couldn't stand the awkward atmosphere any longer. Although everyone else in the park was like a puppet, it was still too uncomfortable. So he deliberately spoke in a low voice to try and hide his true feelings: "Naza..."

I originally wanted to start with "Naza wasn't like this before," but then I suddenly remembered that this is exactly how Naza used to be, and I couldn't continue after saying just two words.

Kyosuke, oblivious to his inner turmoil, bluntly retorted, "Um... Sabrina... we were discussing Sabrina..."

The old man blushed slightly, coughed twice, and continued his story: "When Naz was little, she was a lovely child who longed to make friends and loved playing pranks. Actually, she was a very lonely child because she awakened superpowers at a young age."

"This is what happens when you grow up? Using superpowers to control others?" Kyosuke thought he understood.

"No, that's not it." The uncle shook his head.

"Her superpower is the highly destructive type, and it becomes stronger with continuous practice."

"Uncle, you're just a support type, you don't have any fighting ability at all." Kyosuke suddenly realized that superpowers are also divided into categories. No wonder the people he saw in the Saffron Gym were all weaklings.

When the older man heard Kyosuke's evaluation, he really wanted to teach him a lesson, but his ineffective psychic powers calmed him down.

"There's no way to communicate with this monster," the man silently consoled himself.

"Later, she developed a second personality, a strong-willed character that rivaled anyone else's. Cold and ruthless, she would ruthlessly defeat any trainer who came to challenge her and turn them into toys for her collection."

"Fortunately, she was defeated by the trainer who came two months ago and regained her primary personality, regaining her smile. Unfortunately, her primary personality is a child who only knows herself. In order to make everyone happy, she used her psychic powers to control everyone in Goldenrod City to smile every day, but now, she has gone too far." The uncle's complex expression showed that Kyosuke really didn't understand.

"Uncle, you know so much information..." Kyosuke felt like he had discovered something.

"Yes, I've already revealed so much. Apart from that kid, no one would be able to guess that I'm Naz's father, right?" The uncle felt relieved.

"You're the lolicon uncle next door from when I was a kid!" Kyosuke shouted, thankfully the other people on the street didn't react to his bold statement.

Upon hearing Kyosuke's words, the middle-aged man was so shocked that he flipped over off the back of the bench and fell face-first into the ground. Without even getting up, he teleported directly in front of Kyosuke and roared, "Calling me the neighbor's uncle is one thing, but what the hell is this 'lolicon' thing?! Do you guys from Pallet Town have absolutely no common sense?!"

However, Kyosuke didn't complain anymore, saying things like, "Why is the attack area so wide, even reaching Pallet Town? This is territorial attack!" He simply stood up, bowed to the uncle, and said, "Thank you very much for the information, but I will try my best to defeat her." Then he was about to leave.

"You have no chance of defeating her!" The older man was a little annoyed. How could this kid not understand what he meant after saying so much? It would have been so much better to just leave and call the Alliance to handle it!

"I can't just stand by and watch the people of a city be threatened like this!" Kyosuke said earnestly.

"So, how about we go to Lavender Town and catch a Ghost-type Pokémon to fight against Psychic-types?"
