The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

Kyosuke arrived at the Rainbow Gym.

As a Grass-type gym, the Rainbow Gym's overall shape resembles a large Vileplume, clearly indicating its type to challengers.

"But why does this gym look like it's newly built? Isn't it supposed to be an old (weak) gym in the Kanto region? It looks like a new gym from any angle!" Kyosuke felt like he had come to the wrong place.

"Hello, are you here to challenge the dojo?" A young woman with short, light blue hair suddenly walked out of the dojo and greeted Kyosuke with a smile.

Kyosuke nodded.

"So what are your thoughts on perfume?" the young woman continued.

He replied elegantly, "I don't know much about perfume."

The young woman nodded in understanding and continued to explain, "Our gym specializes in perfume making. If trainers are unfamiliar with perfumes, we hope they can learn about the methods and principles behind our perfume making at the gym before taking on a gym challenge."

Kyosuke wasn't a chauvinist, and he naturally accepted any prejudices he might have against perfume.

With her short, dark blue hair and red hairband, delicate features, and sweet smile, she is a beautiful woman.

"Miss Erica, this is today's challenger. Oh, by the way, I haven't asked your name yet," the blue-haired girl said as she ran up to Erica.

"Hello, I'm Erika, the Rainbow City Gym Leader." Unlike the lively young lady with light blue hair, Erika is a very gentle person.

"I'm Kyosuke from Pallet Town. It's a pleasure to have a gym battle with you." Kyosuke introduced himself at the opportune moment.

"Palenew Town? You're from Pallet Town? Are you busy knowing that guy named Ash?"

Seeing the person opposite him who had just been excitedly introducing himself suddenly turn into someone gritting his teeth, Kyosuke could only simply say that they were fellow townsmen who had set off on the same day.

"Although they are both from the same town, Kyosuke is completely different from Satoshi; he is quite polite."

So Ash, what exactly were you doing here? Kyosuke felt like Ash had tricked him.

"Don't say that. At least we rebuilt the gym, and quite a few Glooms have evolved into Vileplumes, haven't they?" Erika tried to smooth things over.

Seeing Kyosuke's expression, Erika knew he had misunderstood, and quickly explained, "Team Rocket destroyed this place with a bomb, and the League allocated funds for reconstruction. They even gave me a Leaf Stone to evolve Gloom. Ash rescued Gloom from the fire, and it also helped put out the fire."

Kyosuke thought about Ash's troublemaking skills and roughly understood what had happened. Naturally, he couldn't and didn't want to explain anything to Ash.

However, he didn't humanely destroy Ash; he really is a gentle person.

But why would Team Rocket dare to attack another gym after the Viridian Gym? It just feels a bit strange...

Erika ignored the voice and continued, "After the incident, the League sent people to handle it. They gave me some funds and a Grass Stone, and my Gloom finally evolved into Vileplume."

When it comes to the "Queen of Flowers," Erika's eyes couldn't hide the deep emotions she felt.

"Grass-type Pokémon are always especially gentle," Kyosuke replied.

Erika's eyes lit up: "Yes! Ten years ago, I was just a kid. I got lost and accidentally ran into Grimer. I was so scared that I couldn't move. Gloom happened to be passing by at the time, and I yelled for help. I could tell that Gloom understood how I felt back then, and it immediately released its stench to drive Grimer away."

At this moment, the Queen of the Night Flower also emerged from among the thick leaves.

Erika ran over and hugged it affectionately: "It saved me, and I'm so grateful to it. It eventually evolved into Vileplume. It was because of it that I decided to become a Grass-type Pokémon Trainer."

"Me too," Kyosuke thought to himself. Grass-type Pokémon just have a unique charm.

"Kyosuke, do you have a Grass-type Pokémon now?" Erika suddenly asked.

"Huh? Not yet." Kyosuke was a little embarrassed, after all, he had acted like he knew a lot but didn't even have a Grass-type. Then he added, "I'll find it." A forced explanation?

Most of the people listening to the story here nodded in understanding, after all, they were still just children.

But Erika seemed to understand what Kyosuke meant, and replied, "We'll definitely meet again."

Kyosuke wasn't sure if she had really guessed something, but he nodded politely.

"But don't expect me to hold back in the gym battle later because of this," Erika said to Kyosuke with a smile.

I'm going to go easy on her later. After meeting and talking with Erika, Kyosuke felt her love for Pokémon deeply, so he couldn't let her lose too badly. He silently thought about his strategy for later.

However, Kyosuke's current Pokémon, Charmeleon, Nidoran, Butterfree, Spearow, and Glaceon, all seem to be effective against Grass-type Pokémon.

While he claims to love Grass-type Pokémon, all his claims are actually directed at Pokémon that are super effective against Grass. Kyosuke's love for Grass is truly profound.
