The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

37. What kind of organization is the Rockets?

Kyosuke is holding a sleeping Eevee on the plane bound for Sinnoh.

Although she was asleep, she would still twitch from time to time, which was heartbreaking.

I still remember what Nurse Joy said yesterday: if we want to relieve Eevee's pain, the only way is to make it evolve.

Eevee has many evolutions.

There are Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon, which evolve from evolution stones. However, these three are not helpful in solving this problem.

Espeon and Umbreon can evolve through friendship. However, Kyosuke doesn't have much time left to slowly increase friendship.

The evolution of Sylveon is even more complicated, and Kyosuke didn't even consider it.

The only remaining option was Glaceon.

According to the information obtained by Kyosuke, Glaceon needs to evolve in Cerberus City in the Sinnoh region. Near Cerberus City, there is a rock encased in ice that allows Eevee to evolve.

Kyosuke also promptly booked a flight to Sinnoh for the next day, which led to the current situation.

Of course, before leaving, he also left Little Sparrow Phoenix to keep Butterfly company, and only took Charmeleon and Nidoran with him.

Of course, he also sought help through nationwide exchanges. Now is not the time to worry about his identity being exposed, and besides, he has nothing to hide.

Fire Monkey, seemingly always online, replied, asking about the flight schedule for the next day and what Kyosuke looked like and dressed, promising to pick him up when Kyosuke got off the plane.

Leaning quietly against the window, Kyosuke had nothing to do. Looking at the engines under the wings of the planes outside, he suddenly remembered a lot of information that the old man from Team Rocket had given him yesterday.

The Eevee in their arms is key to their next plan, and the only difference between Eevee and other Pokémon is their unstable genes.

It is an undeniable fact that Team Rocket conducted biological experiments, but why did they perform a form change between the three evolution stones of Eevee?

A chill suddenly ran down Kyosuke's spine.

"No way, Team Rocket shouldn't be that bold." But thinking about the conversation between those ordinary members before they died, Kyosuke felt it was more and more likely.

"Is Team Rocket's real aim to overthrow the Kanto Regional League because they are dissatisfied with its corruption...?"

On the surface, they are a large poaching gang that captures rare Pokémon. In secret, they gather a large number of people who are either disheartened or lack talent, distribute a large number of Pokémon to them, and provide them with a lot of benefits to win their heartfelt support. In reality, they are a reactionary organization that studies life, overthrows the government, and goes astray.

"Could it be that Mewtwo is a product of the previous plan?" Kyosuke immediately thought of that poor child who had a headache even from thinking about who he was.

"He said he was the only successful experimental subject created by someone using the Mew Gene. As expected of Team Rocket, they don't treat Pokémon as lives, but only as tools."

Since they can create even a powerful Pokémon like Mewtwo, Team Rocket might actually be able to do something like that.

Kyosuke threw a punch at his knee, but thankfully stopped at the last moment. Ibuki was lying on his lap, looking quite comfortable now, no longer frowning as before.

Although Kyosuke hates his own weakness, he is also grateful that he can still protect the things he loves despite his weakness.

Kyosuke suddenly remembered the green badge Mewtwo had given him. He decided to tuck it into his clothes.

The five badges are arranged in two rows, the first of which is a green badge shaped like a leaf.

"Why did Mewtwo give me the green badge in the first place? If it was created by Team Rocket, how come it's in the gym and has the right to bestow badges? Is Giovanni, the Gym Leader of Viridian, good or evil?"

Also, is poaching Pokémon really that profitable? High welfare, high wages, and retirement and work injury insurance—it's definitely much more lucrative than the Pokémon League.

Even more, there are countless funds available to invest in bottomless pits that violate natural law and morality—biomodification and life creation projects.

Rumor has it that most evil organizations in other regions aim to capture legendary Pokémon, but Team Rocket in the Kanto region seems petty, only engaging in theft.

However, after making actual contact, Kyosuke realized that compared to the high-profile nature of other organizations, Team Rocket was simply adept at hiding their true intentions. Their ambitions were far grander than simply capturing Pokémon: to modify and create them.

Because of their low profile, the Kanto region did not launch a large-scale crackdown, allowing Team Rocket to grow rapidly in a peaceful and fresh environment.

Organizations in other regions, due to their arrogance and relatively high local combat capabilities, are not living as comfortably as they appear to outsiders.

In fact, apart from the Rockets' leaders and officers, many people don't know that other organizations are far inferior to the Rockets in terms of both size and personnel.

Just like not knowing who the leader of the Rockets is.

Sinnoh and Kanto are not far apart, and many people often choose to take a cruise to experience a few days at sea when traveling between the two places. Kyosuke, however, chose to fly in order to save time, so it was naturally incredibly fast. From takeoff to admiring the scenery to lost in thought for a while, the plane began its descent.

The Sinnoh region is finally here.

Unfortunately, Kyosuke didn't come to experience the culture and customs of Sinnoh; he only came to borrow the power of nature—a magical evolution stone—before rushing back to the Kanto region.

Whether it's because of Pokémon or the tournament, he has no reason to stay here for long.

Maybe I'll come back sometime. After all, there are some Pokémon here that Kyosuke really likes.

Holding Eevee, Kyosuke gently disembarked from the plane and was led to the airport terminal, where he saw a huge sign that read, "Kyosuke! Over here!"

Kyosuke is so embarrassed he suddenly regrets hiring Fire Monkey as his tour guide.

But an enthusiastic voice rang out: "Kyosuke! Kyosuke! Over here!" A man with a full head of fluffy red hair and wearing sunglasses waved and ran towards Kyosuke.

"I really shouldn't have revealed too much information about myself..." Kyosuke sighed. After all, he was the only one in the entire hall holding Eevee, so finding him was easy.

Just as he was about to casually greet the fire monkey, Kyosuke's mouth gaped wider and wider as the person drew closer.

When the other person came up to him and greeted him, Kyosuke finally came to his senses: "You, you're Dai-Ye! Dai-Ye, one of the Four Heavenly Kings!"

The fire monkey was startled: "Keep your voice down! I thought my disguise was perfect, how could you still recognize me?"

Kyosuke looked at his attire. "Hmm, truly perfect." He also gained an understanding of the vision of other people in this world.

"Seriously, it's just the Four Heavenly Kings, is there any need to be so shocked? Are you one of my admirers?" Fire Monkey was a little smug, looking at Kyosuke with a "praise me, praise me" expression.

Kyosuke looked at him with disdain: "No. It's just a feeling."

It's a feeling of "everyone brags online, but when we meet in person, we find out that everyone else's stories are true and I'm the only one who made them up."
