The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

33. There will always be evil organizations in big cities.

"Rainbow City, the second largest city in the Kanto region after Golden City. There are many tourists in the city. There are department stores and Rainbow Amusement Park..." Looking at the introduction of Rainbow City displayed on his phone, Kyosuke couldn't continue reading.

Amusement park, amusement park, amusement park, amusement park... Kyosuke's mind was filled with these three words, and he could no longer think about anything else.

"I really want to go play, but there's still the gym challenge..." Kyosuke originally planned to go into the city in the morning, finish the challenge in the afternoon, and then head to the next place. But now that he's come to a so-called big city and seen the long-lost amusement park, he can't let himself not go and have some fun!

"Never mind! Let's go to the amusement park first!" The amusement park is definitely more important!

"But the problem now is," Kyosuke looked up at the sky, surrounded by tall buildings, "how do we find our way to the amusement park!"

Kyosuke skillfully asked for directions and found the location of the amusement park.

Before, every local who was originally enthusiastic looked at him with disdain when they learned that he wanted to go to the amusement park. He wondered why this famous big city didn't need amusement facilities if it was so abstinent. But when he arrived, he found out that it was a casino!

Why call a casino an amusement park? We're all adults here, can't we be a little less convoluted?

Looking at the three-story amusement park in front of him, Kyosuke prepared to leave immediately to challenge the Rainbow Gym. After all, he was just a child, and he had heard about the dangers of gambling since he was little.

Just as Kyosuke turned around, he happened to see two burly men walk into Rainbow Amusement Park.

Kyosuke sensed something amiss. However, he didn't have enough information to unravel the secrets of the place.

Kyosuke stood silently at the entrance of the amusement park, thinking carefully, until another burly man entered, and he finally figured out the key to it.

"That's right. Generally, physically strong people have stronger wills. It's illogical for a large group of burly men to enter a casino. If it were for maintaining order, they wouldn't be so dispersed. So, it must be a deliberate attempt to prevent a large number of people from going together. There must be a huge conspiracy here! And I! Will uncover it all!"

This is the first time Kyosuke has encountered a protagonist mission like "thwarting an evil organization's conspiracy" since he started his journey, so naturally he wants to do his best.

Arriving at a dark corner, Kyosuke silently changed into a top hood, stopped talking, and disappeared into the crowd. After observing the amusement park's architectural structure, he selected several good spots around the nearby buildings and the amusement park and began to pile up haystacks.

After completing the preparations, Kyosuke officially infiltrated the building.

Of course, they didn't enter directly through the main gate, but rather climbed in through a window on a higher floor. Actually, it wasn't very high, considering the building only had three floors.

Kyosuke, who had assumed the second and third floors would be occupied by high-rise buildings, was about to slip through the window to hide when he discovered there wasn't a single living person or security camera. The only truly useful floor was the first floor.

Kyosuke slowly descended from the second floor to the crossbeam on the first floor. It's fortunate that the builders at the time were too lazy to hide the crossbeam.

Kyosuke observed from his vantage point. Below, there was only one type of machine: slot machines. There were only thirty of them in total, and the crowd was thin; most of them were empty and no one was playing. None of the three burly men Kyosuke had seen earlier were there.

"They couldn't have left so quickly, so... there must be a hidden base underground!"

Kyosuke remained motionless. Patience is crucial, whether you're a trainer or a stalker.

After waiting for half an hour, Kyosuke finally saw the fourth representative of the underworld. His arrival always seemed out of place with the crazy players who were playing the game, but he didn't realize it. The players didn't care whether anyone came or not, and only looked at the machine in front of them. But in Kyosuke's eyes, who was in a high position, it was as if he had a built-in magnification system.

The burly man No. 4 first pretended to walk up to an empty machine, but Kyosuke, relying on his eyesight, noticed the words "ordered" written on it. After observing the surrounding environment, he walked behind the machine and disappeared.

Now that the entrance has been discovered, Kyosuke can begin his operation.

Slowly descend along the wall, arriving directly at the spot where Strongman Number Four had disappeared. There, only an amusement park promotional poster remains. Behind the poster is a button.

There is no doubt that this is the entrance to the real secret base, not above ground, but hidden underground.

Kyosuke carefully pressed the button, and a small hidden door appeared. Holding Charmeleon and Mai's Poké Ball in his hands, Kyosuke slowly entered the hidden door.

The hidden door wasn't long; according to Kyosuke's estimation, he had only gone about twenty meters underground. There was no door at the end, and Kyosuke could see directly into the base.

The interior was roughly the same size as the buildings above ground, indicating that the foundations of nearby houses hadn't been breached, which might explain why the amusement park wasn't very tall. Many researchers were moving about with bottles and jars, while large men stood vigilantly around. Kyosuke keenly noticed that their uniforms all bore an "R" symbol.

"It's Team Rocket!" Kyosuke was shocked. He had thought the target was to destroy a small criminal gang's base, but it turned out to be a research center of Team Rocket.

Team Rocket is the largest evil organization in the Kanto region that seeks to disrupt regional peace by poaching or forcibly capturing other people's rare Pokémon for sale and making money, and even resorting to murder. The last disaster in Viridian City was caused by them.

Suppressing his anger, Kyosuke began to carefully examine the structure of the laboratory. At the very least, he needed to know the purpose of their experiments—targeted sabotage!

"There are twenty men, spaced about a dozen times each, and each should have two or three Pokémon. The researchers probably don't have any fighting ability. We'll take out the security forces first, then interrogate the researchers to find out the purpose of the experiment, and finally destroy the base and leave." Kyosuke observed the environment while thinking of a plan.

In this situation, neither Huang'er nor Nidoran, who is in poor condition, can form a fighting force. Only Charmeleon and Mai are capable of fighting, but even low-level Pokémon can only hold out against forty or fifty Pokémon with just two. The only way is to defeat everyone as quickly as possible before the two Pokémon can't hold on.

Just as Kyosuke was about to quietly summon Charizard and explain the plan to Mai, an old man who had been sitting in the middle stood up and left his seat, followed by two burly men. After the three of them moved, the device in the center of the arena was finally revealed: a one-meter-tall incubation tank.

The culture tank was surrounded by a large number of fire stones, thunder stones, and water stones, no less than a hundred of each.

Inside the incubator was an Eevee with a pained expression! Its form kept changing, sometimes a Vaporeon, sometimes a Flareon, sometimes a Jolteon. It seemed unscientific, but the pain on its face and its constant struggle despite its limbs being locked up were undeniable!

Team Rocket doesn't just capture rare Pokémon; they also conduct biological experiments!
