The dream of becoming a Pokémon master

Day 20 of entering the Viridian Forest instance. Ten days left until the deadline.

During this week, the group of one person and three pets lived a regular and fulfilling life.

Kyosuke and Nidoran wake up at four o'clock every day.

Kyosuke begins daily training, Charmander trains with moves, and Nidoran trains by enduring moves.

The training session lasted about half an hour. Kyosuke went to the river to wash up. Charmander was also tired from continuously attacking for half an hour, and Nidoran was even more tired.

Although he was the most exhausted one, Nidoran dared not cry out loud. He really didn't want to be tied up in the silk and go hungry for another day (on the first day, he was beaten to a pulp and cried loudly, waking up Caterpie, and was tied up and hung up all day because of his morning grumpiness).

At five o'clock, Kyosuke started making breakfast. All three Pokémon praised his cooking skills, so Kyosuke was the only one who could wake up Caterpie without getting beaten up.

Of course, since the three Pokémon have different types, they also need to be made differently.

Charmander is a Fire-type Poison Pokémon and likes spicy food. Nidoran is a Poison-type Poison Pokémon and needs a little bit of poisonous ingredients in every meal (collected while training and searching for legendary Pokémon). Caterpie is the easiest to prepare because it needs to lose weight every day; just gather some grass, leaves, and berries and process them.

It takes about ten minutes to prepare food for the three Pokémon.

Then spend twenty minutes making your own nutritious breakfast.

A strong body always needs a lot of nutrition.

After all, Kyosuke would never admit to liking to cook.

Breakfast was at 5:30, and Caterpie finished eating around 6:00 (elegant woman). Then came the dishes, tidying up, and free time until 7:00. Actually, this was Kyosuke's daily time to watch new anime. The other three Pokémon, of course, wouldn't join him; Charmander still hadn't forgotten the fear of being dominated all day.

Charmander and Nidoran lay sprawled out on each other, relying on each other for support. After all, the previous battles were just a warm-up; the real hardship was yet to come. Looking at the Caterpie slowly wriggling beside them, they couldn't help but sigh at the different fates of trainers of the same kind.

Rest time is always short. And Kyosuke is a punctual person.

At 7 o'clock, we officially began to continue our quest in the Viridian dungeon.

The process was simple: Kyosuke put on his hood again, learned stealth techniques from Caterpie, and followed Charmander and Nidoran, while Charmander and Nidoran silently made progress.

Charge into a territory and challenge it. If you can't win, run away. If you can't win, summon Kyosuke.

However, it's unclear whether Kyosuke's stealth skills are too high for them to detect and summon directly, or whether the Caterpie's speed is too slow, causing Kyosuke to slow down as well. Every time Kyosuke appears, it's when the kids are already half-beaten to death.

Viridian Forest isn't very large, and we've conquered most of its territory over the past few days.

On the fourteenth day, they arrived at Rattata's territory, which was also the weakest territory. Roaming freely in Rattata's territory was Charmander's happiest time. The opponent's attacks were always easily dodged, while his Flamethrower always hit its mark. Even Nidoran managed to take down quite a few Rattatas and Mini Rattatas using his Toxic ability.

On the fifteenth day, they arrived at Gloom's territory. Charmander, who considered himself a Fire-type Pokémon, was about to show off when he was knocked out by Sleep Powder. Then Nidoran was beaten to a pulp by Razor Leaf. In the end, Kyosuke took the two babies back.

On the sixteenth day, Charmander, having received some guidance from Kyosuke, re-entered Gloom's territory. He first burned away all the Sleep Powder with Ember, then used Flamethrower to eliminate all the Gloom and Oddish. Nidoran was absent again.

On the seventeenth day, in Pidgeotto's territory. Both Pidgeotto and Pidgeotto are gentle Pokémon, and they generously made way for Charmander and Nidoran when they indicated they only wanted to pass. However, when the stealthy Kyosuke and Caterpie tried to pass, Caterpie was spotted by the sharp-eyed leader. Kyosuke swooped down to snatch Caterpie, and just as Kyosuke was about to intervene, Caterpie used a silken slingshot to send Kyosuke flying and tying him to a tree. The remaining birds, hesitant to attack, could only let them leave.

Day 18, Primeape's territory. The Fighting-type Primeape was a huge test for the two children with little close-combat experience. Primeape, with its fiery temper—a prodigy who would throw a punch even if it lost its ability to fight—suffered a severe beating from Charmander and Nidoran back to the middleman in just one morning. Nidoran, in particular, was targeted due to its Poison Sting ability, and besides passively resisting, it received several times more attacks from Primeape than Charmander. By the end, it was too exhausted to even shed a tear.

The afternoon of the eighteenth day was dedicated to a lesson. Kyosuke felt sorry for the two little babies who were covered in injuries, so he spent the afternoon showing them Pokémon fighting techniques tutorial videos.

On the nineteenth day, Charmander and Nidoran, filled with resentment, returned to Primeape's territory. Nidoran initiated the attack, poisoning all the Primeapes and taunting them, then Charmander indiscriminately wiped them out. Finally, using the fighting techniques honed the day before, they knocked out the remaining Primeapes with a barrage of punches! Primeape's territory, secured!

"Is this... Beedrill territory?" Kyosuke made the assessment from his hiding place in the grass, observing the increasing number of Weedles.

"Passing shouldn't be a problem, but if the opponent is Beedrill, in just one day, Little Fire and Crybaby will be beaten to a pulp again. Just thinking about it is a little exciting." Kyosuke chuckled secretly.

However, Kyosuke underestimated Charmander and Nidoran. After a week, the two Pokémon's strength and teamwork had significantly improved. Seven days ago, they might have had no choice but to run away in this situation, but now…

Without further ado, Nidoran headed straight for its territory. The territories of Beedrill and Butterfree were similarly structured, with the outer layer composed of Beedrill and Weedles. However, since Nidoran was also immune to poison and possessed thick hides, the swarms of Weedles didn't cause it much damage. Meanwhile, Beedrill in the distance was also rushing towards the battleground while using Pin Missiles.

Seeing that Beedrill was attracted, Nidoran roared to the sky, "Nido!" and immediately ran back, leaving the Weedle and the Beedrill that had come after hearing the sound behind.

Although Nidoran is not as fast as the flying Beedrill, he and Charmander had discussed countermeasures and studied the distance between them, trying to ensure that they could take down Beedrill and Weedle when they were neck and neck.

They estimated Beedrill's speed based on Butterfree's speed. After all, Butterfree has a Flying type, while Beedrill is a Poison/Bug type, so it should be slower than Butterfree. However, the opposite is true; Beedrill is actually slightly faster than Butterfree.

Therefore, when Beedrill flew close to Weedle, Nidoran and Weedle hadn't increased their distance significantly. Nidoran was only focused on running back and didn't notice this, but Charmander, who was hiding nearby, saw everything clearly and, no longer bothering to hide, ran straight towards Nidoran.
