Kyosuke set up his tent next to the large rock in the Articuno habitat.

"Everyone, come out!" Seven Poké Balls were tossed into the air.

The Pokémon, summoned from their Poké Balls, all shuddered upon landing before realizing they were already in a snow-covered mountain!

Old Pen looked at Kyosuke, and Kyosuke nodded back at him.

Back then, only Kyosuke and Charizard saw Articuno and the mountaintop. Frostfire and Mai were just below and didn't reach the top of the dark cloud. Ryuu was so scared when she sensed Articuno's presence that she returned to her Poké Ball.

So, of all the Pokémon in Kyosuke's Pokémon, only Charizard knows what this place means.

"Well then," Kyosuke said to the Pokémon who were still excitedly playing in the snow, "we'll be staying here for a while now, I don't know exactly how long."

A cheer erupted!

"However, the training must continue."

The cheers subsided.

Kyosuke didn't know how long they could maintain their current optimistic mood, but they probably would get tired of it soon.

However… Hmph. Kyosuke was already prepared.

Just as Kyosuke was about to continue speaking, a red light flashed before his eyes.

"Flame, can you cooperate with me at a time like this?" Kyosuke turned to the Firebird and said, "You're making me lose face in front of them."

A burst of snickering came from behind him, making Kyosuke even more helpless.

Moltres ignored Kyosuke completely and lay quietly on the boulder where Articuno had previously perched.

Could this ordinary platform, in such a typical location, possess some magical effect that would captivate even legendary bird Pokémon? Looking at this rock, which had no distinguishing features other than its size, Kyosuke's imagination ran wild again.

However, there are some things that Moltres still needs to be reminded of.

"Flame, you know your mission, right?" Kyosuke asked.

Moltres nodded.

"Where you are," Kyosuke pointed to the rock below the firebird, "that's where 'it' used to rest."

Upon hearing Kyosuke's words, Moltres understood what Kyosuke was implying and immediately turned its head to lie down in a different direction.

Kyosuke couldn't do anything about the Moltres either.

After all, she didn't actually subdue him with her own power; their relationship was more like a collaboration, or even an employment arrangement.

After the two sides reached an agreement, Kyosuke told Moltres that his next target was Articuno, to which Moltres replied that he didn't seem to care.

Perhaps in his view, the three divine birds were all similar, except that there was a restraining relationship between them.

I'm a Moltres, taking down an Articuno is a piece of cake.

As for Kyosuke's claim that Articuno was of a higher level than him, he completely forgot about it.

"You're just a lowly trainer, and you can even tell the level difference between us? Hmph." That's what Moltres was thinking.

If he had known that Articuno was significantly longer than him, he wouldn't have been so careless.

In the world of legendary birds, body length is a reflection of seniority. The level of a legendary bird will continue to increase over time. Therefore, unlike other Pokémon, body length, or size, actually reflects strength.

Kyosuke, of course, was unaware of these details; otherwise, he would have definitely told Moltres.

Moltres, unaware that it was about to face a powerful figure, remained nonchalant and continued to occupy its territory as if it were king.

"Just you wait, I'll definitely catch you with the Pokémon I raise myself someday." Kyosuke swore silently, looking at the flames behind Moltres's head.

Articuno is another example.

That is, assuming that this silly bird can actually handle Articuno.

Ignoring the Moltres, Kyosuke gathered the others together.

"First of all, we have successfully qualified for the Indigo Plateau Tournament. In just over two months, we will be able to stand on the Indigo Plateau and compete with other trainers for the tournament championship!" Kyosuke began with this exciting news.

Cheers!

Kyosuke was pleased with everyone's reaction and continued, "This also means that special training will begin in preparation for the tournament!"

The cheers stopped.

"Whether you like it or not, the special training is there, waiting for you."

"Alright, next, let's start assigning special training tasks. First up are Old Spray and Phoenix..."

A chorus of screams...

Even though her companions were in hell mode, Ryuji's life was still pretty good.

After finishing my morning training each day, I would hide in my tent and watch cartoons.

Kyosuke specially bought the complete set of "Dragon Ball" Blu-rays, just for him.

Just as he had expected, Long'er immediately became engrossed in it.

Every day, Kyosuke could hear Ryuji shouting along with Dragonite from the anime inside the tent.

"By the time we go to resupply, it will be time to begin advanced training," Kyosuke thought, looking at the nearly empty food supplies.

I prepared a ton of things, but the food was the fastest thing to disappear...

In just three days! It's all gone!

So all those "essential kits for climbing snow-capped mountains" claims online are fake?!

So it really is true that "for someone of my level, just preparing the food is enough"!

Just as Ryuji finished watching an episode, and the plot reached its climax, Kyosuke entered the tent, took the disc down, and put it away.

Seeing Ryuji's puzzled yet pleading eyes, Kyosuke explained, "We're out of food. We'll go down the mountain together to get some later. We can continue watching when we get back."

Since Kyosuke had said so, Ryuu had no choice but to obediently enter the Poké Ball.

After recalling the other Pokémon one by one, Kyosuke asked the Moltres, "Flame, do you want to come along?"

The molten bird didn't move an inch.

However, Kyosuke understood what he meant.

"I'll be right back after I've bought what I need." Kyosuke waved and headed down the mountain.

The tents and other items remained on the mountaintop. With Moltres there, he didn't believe any Pokémon or human would dare to come and steal anything.

The descent was naturally very fast, and in no time at all, Kyosuke arrived at the Pokémon Center in Poor Earth Town.

Upon entering, Joey saw that it was Kyosuke and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

When Kyosuke had finished buying the food and was about to leave, Joey suddenly remembered something and called Kyosuke back.

"Kyousuke, wait a minute."

"What's wrong?" Kyosuke turned to face Joey.

"I remember... Kyosuke, you're from Pallet Town, right?" Joey asked.

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Is Pallet Town the Pallet Town that's next to Viridian City?"

"Yes." Kyosuke had a bad feeling.

"I heard someone in my family say that the mysterious Pokémon belonging to the Viridian City Gym Leader has recently reappeared."
