A journey through immortal realms begins with a phantom tale.

Chapter 13 A Strange Encounter in the Eye of the Wind

Luo Cheng's lips curled up slightly, his eyes gleaming with eager anticipation. "Then let's crash into it."

"A real crash?" Tange's hand holding the control stick trembled slightly.

Li Qiang raised an eyebrow. "What, you don't trust the boss?"

"Of course I trust the boss!" Tan Ge gritted his teeth and pushed the control lever hard.

The winged people on the opposite flying platform were horrified; they had never seen such reckless behavior. In their panic, they tried to dodge, only to discover that Li Qiang's flying platform was incredibly fast, more than three times faster than theirs.

In a flash, the two plates collided.

"boom--"

A deafening roar shook the heavens, and a burst of dazzling sparks erupted in the void. From within the smoke, a flying vehicle gleaming with blue light emerged unscathed.

"I was so scared..." Tang Ge was still in shock. He never thought that anyone would dare to use a flying board to collide with him.

Luo Cheng and Li Qiang, however, remained calm. "I told you, it's nothing," Luo Cheng said indifferently.

This encounter allowed Luo Cheng to witness the possibility of combining cultivation with technology.

Li Qiang stared at the enemy's flying board falling into the void, equally shocked: "The combination of cultivation and technology is truly terrifying."

"Our understanding of technology is still shallow," Luo Cheng pondered. "The things we are currently refining are, in the end, still in the category of spiritual artifacts."

Li Qiang wholeheartedly agreed.

"Look, there are winged people too." Nashan pointed to the panicked figures in the distance.

"Ignore them," Li Qiang waved his hand. He wouldn't have resorted to this tactic if the other party hadn't threatened his brothers' safety. Now that they were no longer a threat, he was happy to let them live.

The winged people were already terrified, watching helplessly as the flying board disappeared into the distance, not daring to take a single step forward.

Tango piloted the hoverboard into a secluded harbor: "I've been here before."

The hoverboard landed on a smooth stone platform, and the view of the stormy sea in the distance was breathtaking.

Looking out at the hurricane, Luo Cheng exclaimed in amazement, "Junior brother, the hurricane here is even more terrifying than a Category 12 typhoon on Earth."

"Yes," Li Qiang said, equally shocked. "You really don't know how big the world is until you come out here."

After everyone stood silently watching the sea for a moment, Luo Cheng suddenly said, "Let's set up a defensive formation."

"Why set up an array?" Nashan asked, puzzled. "It's still some distance from the Storm Sea, and the wind force is still acceptable."

Luo Cheng pointed to the green vines spreading on the ground: "Try to see how tough these vines are."

Even with all his might, Na Shan couldn't budge the green vine in the slightest, and exclaimed in surprise, "It's that sturdy?"

Li Qiang used considerable force to break the vine, while the others were unable to damage it in the slightest.

"I understand now," Li Qiang said suddenly. "The fact that these vines are so resilient indicates that the environment here is extremely harsh."

"That's right." Luo Cheng smiled without saying a word. As a transmigrator, he naturally had more knowledge than others.

With a Nascent Soul stage expert in charge, a small defensive array was formed in no time. Once activated, the array immediately shut out all external noise.

It was still early, so Luo Cheng took out food and spread it on the ground. Everyone sat around chatting, enjoying the pleasant atmosphere of an outing.

"This place is suitable for cultivation," Luo Cheng suggested. "Brothers, you can cultivate here for a while, and then cross the Storm Sea after the hurricane subsides."

Everyone agreed.

As night fell, a torrential downpour began. Everyone felt the biting cold raindrops and heard the howling wind outside, and their hearts pounded with fear.

"Without the defensive array, we probably wouldn't survive."

Li Qiang and Luo Cheng remained calm. Luo Cheng suggested, "Junior brother, why don't you try cultivating outside the formation?"

Li Qiang tried it as instructed and found that the effects of cultivation in the storm were several times better than on ordinary days.

As the night passed, the wind gradually subsided.

Li Qiang decided to go into the city to investigate. Last night, one of his brothers mentioned that they needed to order some custom-made flying equipment so that they could fly solo. Li Qiang was always generous to his brothers, so he immediately decided to head to the city to find a place that sold flying equipment.

Li Qiang, Luo Cheng, and Zhao Hao, along with the playful Na Shan and Tang Ge, set off together. Before leaving, Li Qiang told those who stayed behind, "If you wish to explore, you can ride your flying boards to the city."

Luo Cheng grabbed Na Shan by the collar and leaped into the air.

"Hahaha—Uncle-Master, don't grab my collar!" Nashan shouted in mid-air.

"What? You want me to throw you down?" Luo Cheng said jokingly.

"No!" Nashan cried out in fright, squeezing his eyes shut. They were already more than two thousand meters above the ground, and without his true energy protecting him, the fierce wind stung his skin.

"A grown man like you is afraid of heights?" Luo Cheng chuckled.

"Master Uncle, I can't fly!" Nashan wailed. "Falling from this height will definitely hurt a lot!"

"Don't worry, if your collar breaks, I'll find you a good spot."

Na Shan cried out in pain, inwardly groaning. Little did he know that cultivators reacted extremely quickly; even if his collar were truly severed, Luo Cheng could ensure his safety. Luo Cheng's prank was purely out of amusement.

"I should have asked my older brother to take me!" Nashan complained.

"Check on your older brother's side."

Nashan turned around and saw that Li Qiang was also holding onto his collar with one hand and the other with the other, so he had no choice but to accept his fate.

Luo Cheng released his protective true energy to shield Na Shan, and suddenly accelerated.

A moment later, the group arrived in the city.

"Tange, you lead the way," Li Qiang said.

Tan Ge was still a little dizzy: "Big brother, let me catch my breath."

"OK."

The group arrived at a trading company and unexpectedly encountered two cultivators. Luo Cheng's mind stirred slightly—could these be disciples of the Chongxuan Sect?

As expected, after Li revealed his identity, the two cultivators immediately bowed respectfully: "Greetings, two senior uncles."

Luo Cheng observed the two's cultivation levels and sighed at the difficulty of cultivating immortality. They were merely nominal disciples, possessing only one cultivation technique, and after barely reaching the Nascent Soul stage, they found it difficult to break through further. The two were named Hong Qian and Ku Bo, and were master and disciple.

Luo Cheng was secretly delighted: the key figures had arrived. Through them, he would surely find the "Eighteen Demon-Slaying Hands." Currently, his offensive methods were lacking; although the Chongxuan Sect excelled in weapon crafting, their offensive spells were not particularly strong. The magical artifacts Li Qiang had given him on Tianting Star were still insufficient in power.

The "Eighteen Demon-Slaying Hands" spell can be used by beginners in cultivation, as well as by deities; it is suitable for all ages. Luo Cheng had long awaited this spell.

Led by Hong Qian, the group arrived at a secluded alley, surrounded by ordinary dwellings, giving it a sense of being a hermit in the city.

"There are actually extraordinary people living in this place," Li Qiang exclaimed in admiration.

"Yes, Uncle-Master."

Soon, the group arrived in front of a small building. Hong Qian called out loudly, "Old Beetle, come out and greet our guests!"

"Who is it? Shouting like that!" A middle-aged man jumped out of the small building. Seeing that it was Hong Qian, he immediately smiled broadly. "Old man, what brings you here?"

"Old beetle, I've come today to introduce you to two senior figures."

"Senior?" The old beetle was startled—the senior Hong Qian spoke of must be a core disciple of the Chongxuan Sect. Hong Qian had only learned a few basic skills and was already far more powerful than him; what kind of person must that core disciple be?

After everyone got to know each other, Li Qiang said, "If you don't mind, I'll call you Old Beetle too."

"It's alright, it's alright," the old beetle waved his hands repeatedly, his face full of smiles. "I find it quite endearing that you call me that." He thought to himself that if Li Qiang hadn't come from the Chongxuan Sect, he would have felt embarrassed if an ordinary person had addressed him like that.

Li Qiang continued, "I came here today to ask you to manufacture some wingsuit aircraft."

"It's nothing, it's nothing," the old beetle hurriedly agreed, his smile widening. "It's my honor to help Uncle Li refine artifacts." He was thinking to himself that he would take this opportunity to befriend the core disciples of the Chongxuan Sect.
