Twenty years of cold chain

As Pang Shiyou said, after Hu Shutong graduated with a master's degree, companies were eager to hire him.

In the dormitory, Hu Shutong's desk was covered with job postings from many companies, including some he recognized. He glanced through them briefly but lacked any further motivation. Many companies had tried to recruit from Pang Shiyou, but had received no response.

Pang Shiyou was in the office building, and Hu Shutong was in the dormitory building. Strangely, he never contacted Hu Shutong about these matters. Perhaps he simply didn't want to interfere with Hu Shutong's choices.

The waiting had been agonizing, and the emptiness that followed, coupled with the dust settling, left Hu Shutong disoriented and unwilling to think about the next step. For some reason, his mind was now filled with thoughts about the land west of Niujia Town, as if he were trapped in a vicious cycle, fixated on something hopeless.

But in any case, I'm about to officially leave campus. I'll pack up and clean up; I can leave anytime.

Luan Pingxin knew the whole story and had also received a lot of information from Lei Xiaoxi. She sent Hu Shutong long text messages, frankly expressing her shared disappointment with him. In fact, she was already making arrangements for some things and was prepared to become Hu Shutong's biggest helper.

Compared to the uncertainty surrounding Hu Shutong, everything else is gradually becoming clearer, and all of it is good news.

The South Suburbs project was completed, and Qi Zhendong sent Hu Shutong a ceremony invitation, but Hu Shutong only returned the call and did not attend. The South Suburbs project was finally operational. After numerous setbacks since 01, it had finally stood up, and Hu Shutong no longer needed to worry about it.

But a sense of melancholy lingered in his heart. He had once thought about that grand "negotiation," and the idea of developing an industrial park on the Qingyan land, connecting it with the southern suburbs from north to south, had surfaced many times. Sigh! How did he end up back in Niujia Town again after all that thinking? Hu Shutong smiled bitterly.

With the family funds secured, Qian Guowei was busy introducing production lines, and the first Huichi truck would soon be on the market. Qian Guowei had also tried more than once to bring Hu Shutong to the company to oversee operations; after graduation, there was no need to work for others, focusing on his refrigerated truck business was the best choice.

But Weihui is not Hu Shutong's Weihui, and the single refrigerated truck does not meet Hu Shutong's expectations of himself. He will definitely handle the key technical issues personally, and the technical team has been trained several times, but Hu Shutong's freedom has been stipulated in the agreement, and he will not be there to sit in the office all the time.

In addition, Hu Shutong received a call from Shengxi, whose distinctive local accent immediately transported him back to the scene from over a year ago. Shengxi had been elected as the village head of Lianghuzhuang, and the micro-warehouse system in Lianghuzhuang had been fully implemented. It had not only gained recognition from the county but had also started to share the micro-warehouse system, which quickly spread to surrounding villages and towns.

The "secret formula" left to him by Hu Shutong has played a huge role. Now, the fruit from Lianghuzhuang and even several surrounding villages has signed direct supply agreements with the county's fruit wholesale market and supermarkets, and the fruit is regularly transported in bulk from Lianghuzhuang's cold storage. Now, no one is struggling to make a living on the county road anymore. They can sell their fruit, big or small, by sorting them into different grades. They no longer have to compete with each other in the fields to see who is the best. After some sorting, everything can be packed into boxes.

He also joked with Hu Shutong that one day the fruit from the surrounding villages of Tongze County in Mingyuan City would be sold all the way to Qingyan.

These pieces of news brought Hu Shutong great joy and made him truly happy. There were grand, radiating industrial parks, promising even faster and farther development, and countless households enjoying prosperous livelihoods, allowing people to fill their pockets even more.

Although they may seem unrelated, they are all links in the cold chain, and he had been a part of each of them. Recalling these achievements, Hu Shutong couldn't help but sigh. In reality, the symbolic works like civil engineering warehouses, assembly warehouses, mini-warehouses, and refrigerated truck improvements were far from all he had done. He had never neglected the practice of the cold chain, but even so, why couldn't he give himself a platform?

What a wonderful piece of land! He often murmured this phrase, and it almost accompanied Hu Shutong into his dreams.

Early in the morning, Hu Shutong received another call from Lei Xiaoxi. This time, Lei Xiaoxi's tone made Hu Shutong feel like he was still half asleep, as if she was in a state of high excitement!

"Shutong, I remember you told me that if I could get the approval, you could get things moving!"

"Yes, I have, but the problem is..."

"I have something to say! Now I have a fist!"

"Director Lei, what serious incident has occurred?" Hu Shutong hurriedly sat up. The situation was too abnormal; Lei Xiaoxi's agitation seemed unreal.

"Open your email, I've sent you a file!"

Hu Shutong got out of bed and turned on his computer. When he opened this document, his eyes widened and remained fixed on it for a long time. After a while, his cheeks went numb!

He read it carefully, word by word, as if stepping into a spring garden, where everything became so bright and beautiful. He didn't know what people in the industry were thinking at that moment, but he knew that spring for the cold chain industry was coming!

This is a tremendous encouragement and a reassurance that the industry has never experienced before. The first guiding document for the modern logistics industry has been officially released!

On August 5, 2004, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Transport, the General Administration of Customs, the State Administration of Taxation, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce jointly formulated—
