Chapter 98 Fei Fei

Li Yu climbed the mountain and fled, while Hu Che'er tried to give chase.

In the Xiliang army, a valiant general called out to him.

The man was nine feet tall, with a face as red as blood, a tiger's body, a wolf's waist, a leopard's head, and an ape's arms. He was none other than Hua Xiong, the fiercest general under Dong Zhuo.

Hu Che'er returned dejectedly.

A soldier gathered up Niu Fu's routed soldiers, questioned them, and reported to Hua Xiong.

General Niu has disappeared without a trace, seemingly captured by that man.

This person can transform into a flying bird and possesses unparalleled strength, unmatched by anyone below the [Earth Grade] level. The jujube-shaped object he wields appears to be a rare treasure from a [Secret Realm], impervious to swords, spears, water, and fire.

Hu Che'er and Niu Fu had always been at odds, and upon hearing Niu Fu's story, his frustration at having his pearl stolen vanished instantly. He said with a hint of schadenfreude, "The strategist repeatedly told that guy surnamed Niu not to act rashly, not to act rashly, and to wait for General Hua. He just…"

Hua Xiong looked displeased, and Hu Che'er finally stopped talking.

Immediately afterwards, Hua Xiong waved his hand, and a player rode forward on horseback.

The player took out a small beast from his pocket. It was about the size of a palm, shaped like a gray fox, and was fast asleep with its head resting on its tail.

Call out "Feifei," and the little beast shakes its head to wake up.

The player takes a grape, peels it, removes the seeds, and hands it to [Fifei], who then eats it.

After it finished eating, the player wiped its paws and mouth, and whispered something in its ear. Then, [Feifei]'s fluffy tail wagged, pointing straight to the northwest.

At Hua Xiong's command, five hundred cavalrymen took the route northwest.

About half an hour later, the [Azure Goose] flew over the heads of the Xiliang cavalry.

Hua Xiong drew his bow and shot an arrow, hitting the goose's claw squarely. The goose wobbled and slid down to the foot of the small hill to the north.

"Chase!"

Thinking he had succeeded, Hu Che'er led several dozen riders northward in a frenzy. Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, he dismounted and began to climb.

As they climbed halfway up the mountain, they indeed spotted the figure of the pearl thief not far ahead.

Hu Che'er was overjoyed: "You little thief, stop and prepare to die!"

The thief threw a stone in return, but Hu Che'er easily dodged it, and the pursuit became even more urgent.

After turning around a large rock, Hu Che'er tripped and looked down to see the jujube figure carrying the strange treasure that the thieves were carrying.

"Be careful!"

Hu Che'er's heart skipped a beat when he heard the exclamations of the Xiliang soldiers behind him.

A whooshing sound rang out as a spear suddenly attacked.

Hu Che'er struggled to the side, dodging a fatal blow. The Xiliang soldiers rushed up and shielded him in the center.

Hu Che'er felt sweat trickling down his cheek. He reached up and wiped it, only to find that it wasn't sweat at all, but bright red blood.

Hu Che'er felt a sharp pain in his right ear and instinctively reached for it.

It was completely empty!

"what!"

With his right ear severed and his hands covered in blood, Hu Che'er was in excruciating pain and rage: "You scoundrel, I'll kill you!"

Five Xiliang soldiers rushed forward in response.

They were pierced by a long spear and fell to the rocks. The three of them tumbled down the mountain, their fate unknown.

Hu Che'er's momentum faltered.

The pearl thief glanced at him indifferently, then wiped the ear and bloodstains from the spearhead onto the Xiliang soldier's clothes. He then stepped forward.

The Xiliang soldiers were startled and protected Hu Che'er as they retreated.

The swords, spears, and armor clanged against the rocks. The thief ignored them all and simply bent down to pick up the jujube figure.

No one stepped forward; they watched as the thief leaped into the air, transformed into a large goose, and flew away.

Hu Che'er was both angry and ashamed, and he fainted.

The Xiliang soldiers dragged him down the mountain. Hua Xiong, after ascertaining the situation, dispatched fifty riders to escort Hu Che'er back to Longxi.

Then wake up [Feifei] and continue the chase.

------

Li Yu climbed the mountain, transformed into a goose and flew north along the Taihang Mountains.

He thought that injuring Hu Che'er would make the other side quiet down. But unexpectedly, Hua Xiong, that stubborn man, kept chasing after him.

Even when Li Yu took a longer route or crossed a large river, his opponent could catch up with him in a very short time. This was true from day to night, and until the break of dawn.

Li Yu sat on a hilltop to rest. Having not slept all night, he felt a little restless.

When he has some free time, he must find a way to conceal the secrets of heaven, so as to avoid being schemed against and hindered at every turn.

The jujube color on Guan Yu's body had decreased significantly compared to before, but Li Yu still couldn't fit it into the pot.

Perhaps seeing that Li Yu hadn't flown for a long time, Hua Xiong sent men up the mountain. They didn't come to the summit, but deliberately made some noise at the foot and halfway up the mountain to disturb him.

Last night, this group of people did just that, chasing him away repeatedly.

Once, when Li Yu relaxed his guard a little, he ran into Hua Xiong, who had secretly come up the mountain. Luckily, he was not captured.

The commotion was quite loud, and Li Yu, impatient, summoned [Snake Princess] Ya Ya and Red Fish, who picked up stones and started throwing them down.

"Ah! Ah!"

A scream rang out, but Li Yu did not linger. He summoned back [Snake Princess] and flew away.

Sure enough, as soon as he left, Hua Xiong, carrying a long sword, climbed to the top of the mountain.

"You treacherous scoundrel, do you dare to fight me, Hua Xiong!" Hua Xiong shouted to the sky.

"I, Yuan Shu, am busy with countless affairs of state. How could I have time to waste with a brute like you?" [The goose] circled around the mountain and replied.

"Nonsense, Hua knows Yuan Gonglu."

"Actually, I'm Gong Lu's older brother, you call me Yuan Ji..."

"If you don't believe me, don't run! Take this arrow!"

[The goose] left Hua Xiong and continued flying north.

He glided through the air and peered into the woods.

After some investigation, they finally found something.

Li Yu first found a narrow cave on the mountaintop and hid Guan Yu there, then leaped into a dense forest.

This place is lush with vegetation and teeming with birds and animals.

What pleased Li Yu most was that he discovered a tree of magpies.

On Mount Beihao, there dwells a bird that resembles a chicken with a white head, rat's feet, and tiger's claws. Its name is the Qique (鬿雀), and it feeds solely on humans. — *Classic of Mountains and Seas*

[The pheasant] likes to eat people and is also very vengeful.

Li Yu didn't provoke them first, but instead wandered through the forest.

First, they found several piles of dry grass, then unleashed a flame, and a herd of wild boars charged out, howling. They then tore down a crow's nest from a tree, and immediately a flock of crows arrived.

Birds and beasts chased after them relentlessly, both in the sky and on the ground.

Until the dense forest opened up, the sound of galloping hooves rang out, and Li Yu spat out several mouthfuls of fire dragons, igniting the [Qi Que] tree into a blazing fire.

Thirty feet away, Hua Xiong stopped.

The five hundred riders obeyed the order without question, reining in their horses and stopping their carriages.

The unusual activity in the forest naturally did not escape the notice of Hua Xiong, who had already reached the [Heavenly Rank]. However, being highly skilled and daring, he disregarded the opponent's methods and cleaved them in two with a single stroke.

"Hua Xiong, prepare to die!"

A goose flew out of the forest and went straight for Hua Xiong.

"court death."

Hua Xiong spurred his horse forward, heading straight for the [Azure Goose], raising his long sword to slash at it.

[The Azure Goose] suddenly turned around, dodging Hua Xiong, and crashed into the Xiliang cavalry.

However, the five hundred cavalrymen had already obeyed military orders and formed battle formations. Spears and lances stood in a forest, ready for battle.

The next second, the [Azure Goose] vanished the instant it collided with the spearhead.

The soldiers of Xiliang were taken aback.

Just then, a great commotion arose in the woods. A flock of sparrows flew out and swooped down.

Hua Xiong swept his longsword, slicing down more than ten birds, but this also fully unleashed the ferocity of the [Qi Que]. One by one, they charged into the crowd, their long beaks and tiger claws injuring countless people.

At the same time, herds of wild boars, weasels, and crows rushed out and stormed into the formation.

The scene was chaotic.

By the time Hua Xiong had killed all the sparrows and driven away the birds and beasts, half a day had passed.

The soldiers of Xiliang were covered in bird droppings and animal fur, looking utterly wretched. Some had even had their eyes pecked and legs bitten off, making their situation even more miserable.

Holding the barely breathing [Feifei] in his hand, Hua Xiong roared angrily, "You brat, if I, Hua, don't kill you, I'm not worthy of being called a human being!"

His voice stopped the clouds in their tracks and echoed across the vast wilderness, yet there was not a single response.
