Primordial Era: I rule the great sect and command all immortals.

Chapter 38 Hearing the Dao in the West, the Three Pure Ones Divide the Family

Chapter 38 Hearing the Dao in the West, the Three Pure Ones Separate Their Families

The disciples of the Three Pure Ones arrived, and soon a monk welcomed the two inside. There, they saw two saints sitting high on the clouds. In addition to pilgrims like Li Yunjing and Randeng, a group of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, and monks from the Western Paradise served the two leaders.

These Western disciples all chanted Buddhist mantras, and the sounds of chanting echoed throughout the Pure Land, like a gentle spring breeze and rain that permeated every nook and cranny, nourishing the entire world.

However, it is not yet the time for Buddhism to flourish. Although the Western Sect has a large number of members, most of them are not highly cultivated. There is only one Quasi-Saint who can be called a Buddha, and there are not many Great Golden Immortals who are Bodhisattvas. It is weaker than the Jie Sect and even the Chan Sect.

It was far from the grandeur of Buddhism's later rise to prominence, which nearly unified the world.

After Li Yunjing and Randeng paid their respects to the sage and offered their congratulations, they sat on the left and right sides, like the other guests, waiting for the arrival of others and to listen to the sage's profound teachings.

Seven days later, the Sage Zhunti, one of the two saints of the Western Sect, sat on a golden lotus. A world appeared between the Sage Zhunti's fingers, seemingly real yet illusory, filled with various Buddhist kingdoms. It was the legendary Great Immortal Technique of the Buddha Kingdom in the Palm.

A Taoist appeared, none other than Cundi Buddha, one of the two saints of the Western Paradise. The Taoist, seated on a golden lotus and calling himself Buddha, was quite astonishing. The Western Buddhist Kingdom gradually approached Cundi, and in a seemingly illusory yet real manner, it flew into Cundi's hand. It was indescribable whether it was small or large, and the entire world was a Buddhist kingdom, held in his palm.

"Bodhi has no tree, the bright mirror is not a stand; originally there is nothing, so where can dust alight? The Western Paradise opens its gates of expediency. Once you enter the gates of Paradise, you will not be tainted by cause and effect, nor by right and wrong, nor by natural disasters, nor by man-made calamities, nor by the five elements, nor by strife."

Sage Zhunti began to expound on his own Great Dao, and for a time, a dazzling array of auspicious omens filled the Pure Land. Li Yunjing listened with rapt attention, but in the end, Li Yunjing frowned. "You're preaching, so why are you recruiting disciples?"

"The world is impermanent, the land is fragile, the four elements are suffering and emptiness, the five aggregates are without self, arising and ceasing, changing and impermanent, illusory and without a master. The mind is the source of evil, the body is the den of sin; observing thus, one gradually departs from birth and death. Many desires bring suffering; the weariness of birth and death arises from greed; few desires and non-action bring freedom of body and mind."

However, the Guide then manifested between heaven and earth and expounded his Great Dao.

The two sages each preached for three months, but their teachings were only superficial. However, the profound meaning they conveyed still greatly impacted and inspired Li Yunjing.

This time, the two sages of the Western Sect preached, and apart from people with backgrounds like Li Yunjing, many rogue cultivators from the prehistoric world also came to the West. Now that they have witnessed the great teachings of the sages, many beings have indeed been bewitched by Zhunti and Jieyin and joined the Western Sect.

In a short time, the entire Western Sect grew fivefold in strength. This was only because the two Western Saints selected the best members; otherwise, it would have immediately surpassed the Jie Sect in numbers and become the world's largest sect.

Li Yunjing didn't care about the growth of the Western Sect's strength. Anyway, it was something for the future, and he couldn't stop it. He might as well focus on comprehending the Great Law and advance to the Quasi-Saint realm as soon as possible.

Therefore, upon returning to Kunlun Mountain, Li Yunjing immediately went into seclusion to cultivate, summarizing and expanding the great Dao of the two sages, Zhunti and Jieyin.

On this day, on Mount Kunlun, two powerful auras of saints suddenly manifested. Li Yunjing hurriedly woke up from his seclusion, immediately calculated with his fingers, and then revealed a bitter smile. What was bound to happen had to happen.

It turns out that the Jie Sect and the Chan Sect have different doctrines, and their disciples often quarrel. This time, Wuyun Xian of the Jie Sect clashed with Taiyi Zhenren. Wuyun Xian was no match for Taiyi Zhenren, so he immediately called on his fellow disciples, which led to a chaotic battle.

As a result, the Jie Sect naturally gained the upper hand, forcing the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect to flee in terror. This situation immediately angered the Primordial Heavenly Lord, and then alarmed the Tongtian Sect Master.

The two saints started blaming each other over matters concerning their disciples, and they were almost about to come to blows.

Seeing this, Laozi shook his head helplessly. Fate cannot be defied. It seems that the separation of the Three Pure Ones is an inevitable result. Heaven will not allow the three brothers to stick together and dominate the prehistoric world forever!

At this moment, the Primordial Celestial Venerable scolded, "Third Brother, look at what you've gathered! Arrogant, lawless, where is your respect for teachers and the Way? Where is your manners and upbringing? A bunch of creatures born from moisture and eggs!"

"Second Brother! What do you mean by this?" The words of the Primordial Celestial Venerable angered the Tongtian Sect Master so much that his face turned red. If he hadn't still had a shred of reason, he would have unleashed the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation to compete with the Primordial Celestial Venerable.

"Second brother! Third brother! Stop arguing! Although Kunlun Mountain is vast, it cannot ultimately contain the lineage of the three of us."

Suddenly, Lao Tzu appeared between the two, silencing their argument. Seeing that they had calmed down, he said, "I have decided to take Xuandu to Shouyang Mountain for cultivation. You two can handle things here yourselves!"

"Eldest brother, since Pangu created the world, the three of us brothers have been together. How can we be separated? My second brother and I were just saying that in a fit of anger!" Tongtian was immediately anxious. He was angry just now, but he never thought that the Three Pure Ones would separate!

"Big brother, my third brother and I just had a little argument, you can't leave!"

The separation of the Three Pure Ones was a major event that Yuanshi Tianzun was naturally unwilling to undertake, and he immediately followed the example of Tongtian Jiaozhu in explaining the situation.

"Never mind, the will of Heaven cannot be defied! Even a sage cannot go against the general trend of Heaven and Earth," Lao Tzu explained.

The Primordial Celestial Venerable and the Tongtian Sect Master calculated with their fingers and found that it was indeed the case. The separation of the Three Pure Ones was inevitable. If they forced it, their disciples would cause who knows what kind of trouble they would cause.

Sages are not involved in cause and effect. If something happens, it will naturally fall on their disciples. If this continues, the next conflict among disciples will likely result in death or injury.

"Since that's the case, then I'll take my disciples and leave Kunlun Mountain to find another place to settle down!" Knowing that separation was inevitable, the Tongtian Sect Leader made a decisive decision, turned around and left, returning to Shangqing Palace.

"this?"

Yuanshi Tianzun was a little stunned. He hadn't expected that the Three Pure Ones would disperse like this.

Looking at the scene before him, Li Yunjing sighed, then suddenly walked up to Yuanshi Tianzun, bowed, and said, "Second Uncle-Master, this is the 'Enlightenment Tea' that I have collected to offer to you. Every three thousand years, I will return to Kunlun Mountain to visit you."

"Yun Jing, your senior uncle has reserved the Chaos Palace for you. You can come back and live here for a while whenever you want." Looking at Li Yun Jing, such a sensible disciple, Yuanshi Tianzun was deeply moved and finally gave Li Yun Jing a promise.

A promise to leave him a home in the Kunlun Mountains!

If all of my third brother's disciples were like Li Yunjing, even if they defied the heavens, Yuanshi Tianzun would still keep my third brother's lineage. However, when he thought of the other disciples, most of whom were born from eggs, Yuanshi Tianzun felt a deep-seated disgust.
