Chapter 143 Tyrion: Now that's a threat!

Cersei and Joffrey immediately looked at the person who had spoken.

"Sir Beryl Dondarrion, are you willing to lead the army to quell Stannis's rebellion?"

As soon as Cersei finished speaking, the throne room, which had been somewhat noisy just moments before, became eerily quiet.

Beryl Dondarrion, Earl of Black Harbor, was very young, only twenty-two years old. He wore a black satin star-patterned cloak, a black scale armor, and a sword at his waist.

Like many nobles, Beric Dondarrion came to King's Landing to participate in the tournament, but as is well known, the tournament was canceled. However, Beric did not return to Black Harbor, but instead stayed in King's Landing.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Beryl Dondarrion replied.

"That's you! I want you to lead the royal army and retrieve my uncle Stannis's head! With his head on a spear, all of King's Landing will cheer!"

Joffrey never forgot to let everyone know that he was the king.

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

Beryl Dondelion responded mechanically.

"Soros!" Queen Cersei looked at the red-robed monk in the crowd.

"Your Majesty the Empress Dowager!" The tall, stout monk Tingchen, dressed in a red robe, stepped out from the ranks.

"You were His Majesty's close friend during his lifetime. During the Greyjoy Rebellion, you were the first to scale the walls of Pyke City, and everyone praised you. Now, do you still have the courage to face the rebels once more and fight for the kingdom?"

Cersei's tone remained as haughty as ever.

"Of course I would, Your Majesty the Empress Dowager," said the red-robed monk.

"My father died because you drank too much with him that day! You should have been hanged! But now I'm giving you a chance, don't let me down!"

Joffrey cast several disgruntled glances at Cersei, once again attempting to prove his absolute power.

"I am ashamed of this, Your Majesty. I should fight bravely against the enemy," Soros replied, bowing his head.

"That would be best," Joffrey scoffed.

The courtiers and nobles all withdrew.

Joffrey looked at his mother.

"I am the king! I am the one sitting on the throne! This is the last time!"

Cersei opened her mouth in surprise, unsure of what to say.

By the time she had prepared her remarks, Joffrey had already angrily left the throne room.

"Go and protect your king!" Cersei said, her voice tinged with anger as she looked at the Hound still standing beside the Iron Throne.

Sandor didn't speak, but followed the other Kingsguard out of the Throne Room.

Three days later, the ambitious Emperor Joffrey received bad news.

Beric Dondarrion and Thoros the Red Monk, who were originally responsible for supporting Stormlands, killed a few knights loyal to the royal family on the day they left King's Landing. They then led 10,000 troops to launch a surprise attack on the 20,000-strong Stormlands coalition army.

Stannis seized the opportunity precisely that day, leading all his troops forward, and the 20,000-strong allied army loyal to the royal family in Stormlands was utterly defeated.

Beric Dondarrion and the Red Monk Thoros swore allegiance to Stannis.

Stannis is currently leading an army of 70,000 men, advancing towards King's Landing by land and sea.

"Seven levels of hell!"

The courtiers and nobles in the throne room were immediately thrown into chaos.

Splash!

A series of hurried footsteps entered the throne room.

A group of savages barged in.

"Fuck, how did they get in?!"

Joffrey, already furious, immediately stood up and pointed at the group of savages, shouting.

The Kingsguard around the Iron Throne and Sandor Clegane simultaneously drew their swords from their waists, pointing them at the newcomer.

The courtiers and nobles were in even greater chaos.

Cersei's expression remained unchanged, her face still grim. Her gaze quickly settled on the small figure that the wildlings had cleared.

Tyrion Lannister, the "Little Imp"!

"What are you doing here!" Joffrey finally recognized who it was and scolded them with obvious disgust.

"I'm here in King's Landing on your grandfather's orders to clean up the mess you've made."

The dwarf, swaying unsteadily, stood beneath the Iron Throne, before the courtiers and all the nobles, amidst Cersei's expression that suggested she was about to vomit.

The dwarf spun around in place, looking comically like a spinning top.

Tyrion looked at Joffrey and said, "Your Majesty, you see, even the wildlings know that the gates of King's Landing are easier to breach than your temper." He paused, and under Joffrey's murderous glare, continued, "Of course, compared to Stannis's 70,000-strong army, this little surprise is nothing. After all, one wants 'your' crown, and the other at most wants to use your silk cloak as a blanket."

"Hahahaha!" The warriors of the High Mountain Clan, who had been lured down from the Valley of the Moon by Tyrion, burst into laughter. They were growing to like the little dwarf more and more.

"Dog! Kill him!" Joffrey roared.

"Tyrion! There is no place for you here!" Cersei screamed.

Tyrion's playful expression gradually turned serious: "While you were all yelling about who to stick their heads on the tips of their spears, the army of the Royal Territory rebelled, and the families of Stormlands who supported us are probably rotting away by now!"

We originally had 30,000 troops who could have held off the storm! I was sent by my father to wipe his ass; I smelled bad, but I was still usable. Now, I'm covered in shit on both sides!

Joffrey was trembling with rage, pointing at Tyrion and screaming, "You dog! Kill him!"

"No one dares to threaten His Majesty the King in front of the Royal Guard. If you dare to disrespect him again, I will kill you!"

Sandor didn't move, but the hot-tempered Kingsguard Berlusconi took a step forward and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"Hmph, watch out, I don't want any blood on your beautiful white robes!" A lean man with a fierce, wolf-like appearance raised an eyebrow at Berlos behind Tyrion.

"Bron, if Ser Beros dares to open his mouth again, kill him!" Tyrion said slowly. Bronn behind him immediately placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, glancing at Beros and indicating that he could try.

"That's what you call a threat, Ser Perloch," Tyrion said, glancing at Ser Perloch, who stood frozen in place.

Bronn whistled in response, and for some reason, Sir Perros, who was usually short-tempered, was unusually quiet as he stared at the relaxed mercenary Bronn.

Like a docile kitten.

"How many more days will it take Stannis and his army to reach King's Landing?" Tyrion's gaze returned to the mother and son on the Iron Throne. "Either listen to this dwarf, or you'd better hope that your terrified nobles muster the courage to face an army of seventy thousand, and then have your 'threat' sergeant lead them out of the city to meet the enemy!"

As he spoke, Tyrion glanced at Ser Beloth, who had fallen silent.
