Game of Thrones: Summoning the Fourth Calamity
Chapter 135 The Golden Company's Choice
Chapter 135 The Golden Company's Choice
"Who do you think he is?"
Harry jumped to his feet.
Harry didn't believe it and chuckled, saying, "Where did you find this fake? Everyone knows that Rhaegar's son was killed by Tywin's soldiers the day King's Landing fell."
"Now the only Targaryen heir is Viserys, who commands a large army. What is he?" Harry said, pointing to the composed "little Griffin" Aegon.
Jon Clinton ignored the clown, his gaze sweeping over the other brothers in the group, none of whom uttered a word.
He noticed that several of them were exchanging glances, and Jon Clinton realized that these real core members had known all along, while only Harry and those idiots had been kept in the dark like clowns.
"Rhaegar Targaryen's son!" Jon Clinton answered Harry's question.
"I testify that he is indeed the son of Rhaegar, but the rightful heir to the Iron Throne is not him, but Viserys, who commands a large army. Why don't we pledge allegiance to Viserys?"
"I'm going back to Westeros anyway, but to be honest, I'd rather live to enjoy the land and castles I've won after such a devastating war."
Why bring up the issue of surrendering before fighting again? And why are you speaking up for a traitor! Harry looked at the speaker with some dissatisfaction.
The man who spoke was Tristan River, an exiled bastard and outlaw from the Riverlands.
Although Harry was dissatisfied, he didn't show it on his face. Tristan was just a crazy man who wanted to go home.
"It was that fat bastard Illyrio who said he would find a way to get an army for Viserys, and that we would join Viserys and he would lead us back to Westeros!"
Now that fatso has probably had his ass ripped open by some elephant, but it doesn't matter. I've had enough of this fatso's bossing me around. Viserys really does have an army now, and we should pledge our allegiance to him!
Franklin Foster, the illegitimate son of the Fosterville family from the River Reach Wine House, stood up immediately. Without even glancing at the two outsiders in the tent, he spoke directly to Captain Harry in a gruff voice.
Franklin Fogh, a portly man with the strength to strangle someone with one hand, is a seasoned warrior. His face is crisscrossed with scars, his right ear looks like it was bitten by a dog, and his left ear is completely missing.
He gave everything in the Golden Company to return to Westeros and seek revenge. He is now scarred, but his thirst for vengeance has never been extinguished.
His mother was a washerwoman who became pregnant after being raped by Lord Fossove's son. This guy joined the Golden Company to take revenge on the Red Apples.
Harry knew that no matter what he said today, his little scheme would not succeed, because if he dared to delay the big guy's return to Westeros for revenge, he would definitely have his head crushed by the other party.
"We are good friends, I will not lie to you, Franklin. Aegon can also lead you back to Westeros. We have a plan."
Franklin was Jon Clinton's close comrade and friend from his time with the Golden Company, so he tried to persuade him first.
But Franklin shook his head and said, "If Viserys had been kicked in the head by a warhorse, I would have chosen to believe you, but now he has an army of fifty thousand and has hatched four dragons! I can't wait, my friend, I have to sacrifice our friendship."
"So, can we all agree? Who is willing to follow Prince Aegon? Who is willing to pledge allegiance to Viserys? I'd rather die in Westeros than be buried here. As for the Three City Alliance, to hell with it."
Humphrey Stone stood up, his gaze sweeping over Jon Clinton and Aegon Jr., before landing on all his brothers present.
"I side with Viserys, at least he hasn't lost yet." Baqu, the archer commander in the regiment, was more affectionately called Black Baqu by his brothers because he was a black man from the Summer Islands.
He didn't care where he lived or where he died; he only cared about who could lead him to victory so he could enjoy everything he won.
"Me too. Like our leader Harry always says, we'll follow whoever is strong!" Bened Bellatrix crossed his arms and glanced at Jon Clinton and Aegon.
"Gentlemen, you should be even more loyal to me; I have a plan..."

Aegon finally spoke, but was quickly interrupted.
"Are you Viserys?" The speaker was Jon Rothschild, whose words made Aegon frown.
"If not, then shut up. We all know how much you've sacrificed to get to the Iron Throne. Don't worry, once we take you to see your uncle, he will definitely treat you well." It was Marco Mandak who spoke.
"Join Viserys's army. You are just their fallback plan. They will only side with the stronger force now."
Aegon wanted to say something, but Jon Clinton grabbed his shoulder and said this.
"What? You want me to go see my uncle like this? He'll treat me like a beggar!" Aegon replied, dissatisfied.
"Hmm, he was treated like that too, wasn't he? It's nothing, but we don't have any supporters right now. Let's go back to Westeros and see."
"I might be able to negotiate with him for command of one army; he can't possibly control all the troops, but let's talk about that later," Jon Clinton said seriously.
"Viserys is merely Prince Rhaegar's brother, while I am Rhaegar's eldest son!" Aegon retorted.
"Alright, have you forgotten? Viserys was already crowned King Viserys III on Dragonstone. You're confusing his fate with the crown. The Golden Company didn't support us, that's all."
Jon Clinton's words left Aegon speechless.
Jon Clinton was disappointed, but he quickly recovered. It was something he could accept; after all, the Golden Company was nothing more than ten thousand strangers who wanted to go home, along with a bunch of scoundrels and thugs, whom Illyrio had bought at great expense.
Without Viserys, they would have made choices that favored Aegon, but... Jon Clinton's eyes held a hint of melancholy.
Although both Aegon and Viserys are Targaryens, and it seems that whoever sits on the Iron Throne represents the restoration of the Targaryens, Jon Snow has already failed Prince Rhaegar. As long as he has a breath left, he will never fail Rhaegar's son.
"Master, someone else wants to see you. He also claims to be your friend," Harry's squire Wiggin reported, lifting the curtain to enter.
"Oh gods, I have so many friends," Harry said impatiently, gesturing that he didn't want to see them.
But Wiggins stood still.
He was the one who could see the situation best. After listening outside for so long, he clearly understood that Harry could not command the angry "gentlemen" who wanted to go home; he was no longer the leader.
"Go and invite him in. I bet it's an emissary from Tan... Viserys," Lesville Baker said, standing up to make the decision.
He was an exiled lord who had served the Golden Company for several years with his two brothers, Taumay Wood, and enjoyed considerable prestige within the company.
