After I cultivated immortality, I discussed the theory of lifespan with a long-lived spirit.

Chapter 130 The Stone Monster should also be considered a mountain, right?
Lin Er looked down at his hands, then at the blasted-open stone wall, and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
The spiritual artifacts used by Foundation Establishment stage cultivators are truly different. This Mountain-Splitting Armguard is incredibly powerful; hitting a rock wall is no different than hitting tofu.
Lin Er felt that he didn't have that much strength; it must be the effect of the arm guards.
He turned to look at Ilulian.
Illulian stood frozen in place, her eyes fixed on the two cracks, her face filled with disbelief.
Lin Er coughed lightly twice.
"Sister? Shall we go inside quickly?"
"Hmm." Ilulian snapped out of her daze and quickly caught up, but her eyes couldn't help glancing at his wrist.
The two squeezed sideways through the three-meter-wide crevice in the stone, and a narrow tunnel appeared before them. Rows of rough stone steps were laid on the ground, clearly not meant for human use.
As Lin'er descended the stone steps, the tunnel grew narrower and narrower, and the ceiling seemed to drop lower and lower. Eventually, he had to bend over to move forward.
Ilulian's muttering came from behind.
"Could this tunnel have been built by dwarves? — Why is it so low?"
"It is indeed the ruins of a dwarf palace."
Lin Er said without turning his head.
"How did you know?" Ilullian asked, her tone tinged with doubt. "You seem to know this place very well?"
"Hmm—I know a little bit of prophetic magic."
"Prophecy magic?" Ilulian paused for a moment, then her expression changed to one of sudden realization. "I see."
After walking down several dozen meters, the tunnel finally opened up.
The walls were covered with glowing moss, casting a greenish hue over the entire space. An underground city lay silently before them.
It's called a city, but it's more like a giant cave. In the center is a wide open square, connected by countless corridors and tunnels.
Just then, the sound of footsteps approached.
A lizard-like soldier carrying a torch walked over, peering cautiously in their direction.
Ilulian acted swiftly; before the soldier could react, she had him by the neck and slammed against the wall. With her other hand, she drew her sword, ready to finish him off.
"Wait," Lin Er pressed her hand down. "Let me do it."
Although Illulian was puzzled, she still handed over the half-dead lizardman.
Lin Er pressed down on its head with one hand.
Soul Search.
Fragmented memories flooded my mind.
Dragonthroat Castle Butler Lyssen, the imprisoned children, the metal golem, the stone monster —
Lin Er quickly sifted through the useful information and soon figured out the situation in the ruins.
He withdrew his hand and snapped the lizardman's neck without hesitation.
"The children are still alive." He turned to Ilulian and said, "They're locked in a room and will be moved tomorrow."
Ilulian clenched her fists, her delicate brows furrowed.
"What exactly do these monsters want?"
"Saving lives is the priority," Lin Er said.
Ilulian nodded, her expression instantly turning serious.
The two sneaked into the plaza from the side, carefully avoiding the patrolling lizardmen soldiers. Relying on the information obtained through soul searching, Lin Er navigated through several winding tunnels and quickly found the target stone chamber.
Two lizardmen guarded the entrance to the stone chamber. Peeking through the crack in the iron gate, one could see a dozen or so children huddled inside, most of them only three or four years old, shivering in the haystack.
Two slightly older girls were quietly comforting the other children, one with brown hair and the other with blond hair.
Lin Er and Ilulian exchanged a glance.
Two wind blades flew out silently.
The two lizardmen didn't even have time to utter a sound before their heads were severed.
Lin Er quickly stepped forward, took a bunch of keys from the lizardman, and tried to unlock them one by one.
Hearing the noise, the children inside looked up. Upon seeing Lin'er and Ilulian, several of the younger children burst into tears.
"Wow""
"Waaah"
The brown-haired girl's expression changed, and she frantically tried to cover the children's mouths, but it was too late.
The iron gate was pushed open with a loud bang.
From the other end of the tunnel came the sound of hurried footsteps.
"Sister, go stop them," Lin Er said without turning her head. "I'm taking the children."
Illulian drew her twin swords and turned to walk towards the tunnel.
Lin Er glanced at the children in the room. Several were clearly injured, so he quickly took out some Rejuvenating Dew and poured it into each of them. After making sure no one was missed, he looked at the two older girls.
"What are your names?"
The brown-haired girl looked up: "My name is Mia, and her name is Anna."
The blonde girl also looked at Lin Er, her eyes filled with anticipation.
"Were you sent by my father to rescue me?"
"No," Lin Er blurted out.
Anna's eyes dimmed instantly.
Lin Er turned to Mia: "Your mother asked me and Ilulian to come find you. She's relieved that you're alright."
Mia's eyes lit up immediately.
"Is that Lady Ilún outside?" She tugged at Anna's sleeve, her voice trembling with excitement. "I've heard Mother talk about her so often! Anna, we're saved! Lady Ilún is amazing!"
Anna pouted and muttered under her breath, "I thought it was someone Father sent—"
"Alright, alright, you two help me look after these children," Lin Er interrupted them. "Now, all of you, come with me."
Mia nodded vigorously and pulled Anna along to greet the other children. The two girls were quite popular among the kids, and the crying little ones actually stood up obediently.
Lin'er summoned Shuiyue and sent her ahead to scout the way. He brought up the rear, with a dozen or so children in the middle, and they retreated in the direction they had come from.
A sound of fighting came from behind.
Before long, Illulian caught up with them.
The group quickly retreated back to the square.
Then Lin Er saw a familiar figure.
The middle-aged dragon man also saw them, and a smile appeared on his lips.
"My two friends, why are you leaving without even saying goodbye?" He straightened his collar and said slowly, "Let me introduce myself—Lesson, the butler of Dragonthroat Castle. And you two are?"
"The one who'll take your life!"
Without saying a word, Ilulian raised her hand and unleashed two wind blades.
Leisen dodged to the side, a piece of his clothes being torn off. He looked down at it and shook his head.
"These two friends don't seem very friendly."
He clapped his hands.
The next moment, two enormous creatures emerged from the tunnel.
On the left is a four- or five-meter-tall humanoid stone monster, its entire body made of piled-up rocks. On the right is a golem made entirely of metal, whose every step makes the ground tremble.
The two monsters simultaneously raised their hands, and a flash of magical light appeared. The passageways on all four sides of the plaza were gradually sealed off by rocks and sand.
Ilulian's expression changed, and she charged directly towards the two monsters.
Leisen also drew his weapon and stepped forward to block her.
The two instantly engaged in a fierce battle.
Lin Er summoned his flying sword, ready to help, when one of the stone monsters charged towards him.
He quickly released the Spirit Barrier Shield and blocked the stone monster. With a loud bang, the stone monster crashed into the Spirit Barrier Shield and fell to the ground.
Lin Er seized the opportunity to control his flying sword to slash at the stone monster. The blade struck more than a dozen times, but only left a few shallow sword marks on its body.
This stone monster is too hard. With his current late-stage Qi Refining strength, it would be difficult for him to hurt it. He might have a chance to wear it down by pulling it, but the space in the square is too small, and there is a group of children behind him. He has nowhere to retreat.
Lin Er looked down at his hands; he still had the Mountain-Splitting Arm Guard.
He looked at the stone monster again and said in a deep voice, "The stone monster should also be considered a mountain, right?"
