Primordial Era: The Great Serpent of Yunmeng
Chapter 9: Returning to Yunmeng Marsh, Three People Discuss the Dao
Chapter 9 Returning to Yunmeng Marsh, the Three Discuss the Dao
The trip back to Yunmengze will not take too long, only 20,000 years.
The main problem was that Di Jun became a bit impatient later on, and he and Tai Yi used the Golden Crow Rainbow Transformation Technique to carry Qi Fei away.
The primordial world was vast, and Taiyi and Dijun were deeply moved. Now that they had become Taiyi, their speed was much faster than before, but it still took them a very long time. Back then, it only took them a little over ten thousand years to fly from the sun to Buzhou Mountain.
Taiyi wanted to tear through space to leave, but Taiyi refused. After all, the primordial world was full of beautiful scenery, and there was nothing important to do, so why bother?
Upon arriving home, Qi took out the spirit pearl from the Cloud Dream Array, activated his magic power, and the cloud energy spread outwards from the spirit pearl as its core. He then took out the lotus pond, and the Daoist temple appeared on the water's surface.
A gigantic lotus leaf floats on the water, with artificial mountains and springs on it, resembling an island.
Qi was very proud. He had specially cultivated this lotus leaf, and in all his years of traveling in the prehistoric world, he had never seen a lotus leaf larger than this one.
It has no other distinguishing features, except that it is large, round, and its leaves are much more flexible. It can't be considered a spiritual root, but it is still a rare herb.
The three of them then began a formal sermon and exchange on the lotus leaves, with Di Jun starting first.
Di Jun rose into the air and said, "Lesser Yang is externally Yang and internally Yin, representing the element of Wood in the Five Elements. It is the extreme of Yin giving rise to Yang, and its number is seven..."
When Di Jun preached, the sounds of heaven and earth resounded, echoing Di Jun's voice.
The sun shines brightly, its light entering the water and illuminating the lotus pond. Many lotus flowers in the pond turn from white to green, exuding a subtle fragrance. Within the sound of Taoist chanting, the plants and trees stretch out.
The sun in the sky corresponds to it, and the entire Yunmeng Marsh is like the rising sun, the time of dawn.
This phenomenon lasted for seven small cycles of time, with the Daoist sound surrounding the entire Yunmeng Marsh. For these 756 years, the great sun of Yunmeng Marsh did not rise or set, but remained as if the morning sun were just beginning to rise.
Di Jun's voice became increasingly confident, gradually transforming from a hesitant tone at the beginning into a fluent and eloquent one, as if he were constantly reaffirming his own path.
The sound of the Dao spread from the lotus pond to the entire Yunmeng Marsh, and at the same time, the sound became louder and clearer.
When Di Jun finished his sermon, his fatigue was visibly obvious, but the change in his spirit and energy was also very obvious; he was in a state of high excitement.
Preaching is not simply about speaking with your mouth; it is about connecting with heaven and earth through your own spiritual essence, so that heaven and earth know and respond to you.
At the same time, it is also necessary to continuously demonstrate the evolution of one's own Tao and its forms of expression.
Those who listen to the Way are also extremely important; the influence of those who listen to the Way on Heaven and Earth is a reference point for Heaven and Earth's response to you. Whether you accept it or not has a huge impact.
Preaching is less about imparting knowledge and more about exchanging ideas, about finding answers with heaven and earth; the voice of the Tao is the hint from heaven and earth.
The variations in the tone of the sermon are extremely important for clarifying one's own understanding of the Way.
Those who listen to the teachings are like examiners and question setters to the speaker, witnesses communicating with heaven and earth. It depends on how you persuade them and make them acknowledge that your teachings are correct.
At the same time, one must sort out one's own path and understanding, and express it in conjunction with the changes of heaven and earth and the sounds of the Tao.
Therefore, preaching to the outside world is only a small part of the purpose; the real purpose is to prove and clarify one's own doctrine.
This is an extremely demanding process; not only must you understand it correctly, but you must also be able to explain it clearly so that others can understand it.
Taiyi and Qi both said, "Excellent."
Di Jun returned to the lotus leaf, sat cross-legged beside Taiyi, and smiled without hiding his fatigue, saying to Qi Yan.
"Fellow Daoist, please."
Qi did not show any fear. The twelve-petaled pure white lotus stopped in front of him, and Qi sat cross-legged on the lotus platform.
It is said: "Purity means being free from defilement, untouched by the ravages of time, untainted by karmic consequences, and free from the impurities of desire. It is a pure mind that is not corrupted by excessive desires, thus purifying the mind and dispelling all evils to illuminate the Way. It simplifies complexity and restores the fundamental nature of all phenomena..."
When Qi preached, the strange phenomenon of Di Jun preaching completely disappeared, and a gentle, clear light filled the world.
The sound of the Dao is faint and elusive; upon closer listening, it seems as if it were a dream, yet it can be heard clearly when one is not paying attention.
In Yunmeng Marsh, the sun and moon alternate without any abnormality; the purity and turbidity of heaven and earth return to their proper places, and all the energy flows smoothly.
The water of Yunmengze is crystal clear, and the fish seem to be flying in the air. Everything is untouched by dust, and heaven and earth are as pure as one.
As time passed and the preaching continued, the world changed, the sound of the Tao became as loud as a great bell, and the waters of Yunmeng Marsh turned into water vapor. The creatures in the water roamed in the water vapor without noticing the change.
The earth transformed into flowing turbid air, yet it remained distinct from the rest of the air.
The sky and earth lost their color, and the clouds turned into white mist that drifted about. Sometimes it collided with the clear air that the sky had turned into, and the mist was broken into pieces by the clear air, but it would reassemble in the sky.
At this time, no birds flew over Yunmengze; they could only hover at low altitudes.
Unlike fish swimming in water, the water vapor is calm when it is still and has no effect on them.
There are no living beings in the turbid air, and it is suppressed by the water vapor. Although it moves, it does not harm external objects.
But the clouds obscure the mind, causing illusions to arise upon contact, while the pure air is extremely sharp and cannot be touched.
This time, the sermon on the path to enlightenment lasted for 1,095 years, totaling three great cycles. It covered everything from the path of purification to the transformation between existence and non-existence, revealing the accumulation of more than ten eons. When he descended from the lotus platform, he was almost exhausted.
But they were also incredibly excited, having thoroughly reviewed the Dao, and the outside world gradually returned to normal as the prayers ceased, its spiritual energy even more abundant than before.
The various poisonous gases accumulated in the turbid air of the earth rose up and were completely wiped out by the pure air and clouds, transforming into pure spiritual energy of heaven and earth, which permeated the entire Yunmeng Marsh.
Many ferocious beasts, lacking intelligence, were also corrupted and destroyed upon contact with various energies, becoming nourishment for the Yunmeng Marsh.
Taiyi and Dijun made no attempt to hide their amazement and admiration, clapping their hands and exclaiming, "This method is truly excellent!"
It was Taiyi's turn to preach.
He leaped up and sat cross-legged in the sky.
Although it was the same action and posture, it was much more domineering than Di Jun's. Di Jun had more majesty and gentleness.
Taiyi, on the other hand, possesses a pure and unyielding spirit, as if he were the only one worthy of the heavens and the earth.
Taiyi said:
"The sun, meaning 'great,' represents the extreme of yang energy. The sun, also known as the sun, takes the number nine as its ultimate yang, and governs all the yang energy of the stars and the world, hence the name 'supporting the light'..."
Following Taiyi's words, in the Yunmeng Marsh, the heavens and earth shone with boundless light, the sun blazed across the sky, and the yang energy rose, scattering the pure energy. The clouds that touched the sun were burned away, leaving nothing but emptiness. All evil and filth in the heavens and earth were exposed and burned away.
The steam rising from the vast marshland, the ethereal energy, was then burned by the Brahma into tiny specks of light that fell into the water.
The grass and trees wither and fall to the ground under the sun, but their roots continue to penetrate deeper into the earth. Their branches and leaves burst into flames and turn to ashes, but beneath the earth, a vibrant life is being nurtured.
Taiyi's preaching lasted only 365 years, during which time the sun shone brightly in the sky, many lakes and ponds were dried up and exposed on the surface, the bottom of the lakes cracked, and fish and shrimp lived in the mud deep in the cracks.
Some marshlands are lush with flowers, grasses, and trees, where birds and beasts chase, play, hunt, and survive.
That's how the world works. No matter how the environment changes, there will always be creatures that adapt, change themselves, and take over the void left by species that disappeared because they couldn't adapt to the environment, so they can reproduce and thrive.
