Chapter 39 Hongjun Divides the Treasure

At this moment, Hongjun Daozu said again: "Although there are nine primordial purple qi in the world, representing nine holy positions, only eight are controlled by the Heavenly Dao. The whereabouts of the remaining one are unknown."

"As for the eight Primordial Purple Qi of the Heavenly Dao, I used one to become a saint. The remaining seven have already been distributed. You can all cultivate diligently after I merge with the Dao. Whoever can be the first to achieve Hunyuan will have the greatest chance of obtaining the extra Primordial Purple Qi after I merge with the Dao."

The fighting spirit of the crowd was instantly reignited.

Seeing this, Hongjun Daozu said, "Besides, I traveled in the prehistoric world in my early years and collected some treasures. Now that I am about to merge with the Heavenly Dao, these treasures are no longer of use to me. So I will give them all to you. First, they can be used to sever your corpses; second, they can be used to suppress your respective fortunes; and third, they can be used to ward off calamities and disasters."

Everyone was overjoyed upon hearing this. Although they had all been dissatisfied with Hongjun Daozu for distributing the Primordial Purple Qi to his disciples, this innate spiritual treasure was somewhat of a consolation. Therefore, they all looked at Hongjun Daozu with eager eyes.

Hongyun also took it to heart, but she didn't know what treasures she could obtain now that she had become Hongjun's disciple.

Hongjun Daozu pointed at Laozi and said, "Taiqing, come forward."

Upon hearing this, Laozi ascended the high platform, stood before Hongjun Daozu, and bowed his head.

Hongjun Daozu said, "You are the transformation of Pangu's primordial spirit, the head of the Three Pure Ones, and also my first disciple. You should possess a supreme treasure to suppress your destiny. I bestow upon you the Taiji Diagram for protection."

As he spoke, Hongjun Daozu took out a scroll and gave it to Laozi.

Lao Tzu took the diagram and unfolded it. The diagram emitted a dazzling light and boundless auspicious radiance. The "Great Dao Prophecy" surrounded it on the outside, and the "Heavenly Dao Talisman" was faintly visible within it. It was truly a supreme innate treasure.

This is the Taiji Diagram, one of the three supreme treasures transformed from the Heaven-Opening Axe. It possesses the power to pacify earth, water, fire, and wind; the power to transform yin and yang and the five elements; the power to discern the mysteries of the heavenly way; and the power to encompass all things in the universe.

Even though Lao Tzu was usually calm, he couldn't help but show excitement at this moment. He bowed and thanked Hongjun Daozu before returning to his futon and sitting down.

This made everyone extremely envious, and their gazes toward Dao Ancestor Hongjun became even more fervent.

Hongjun Daozu then called Yuanshi forward and said, "You are also transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu, and you have a connection with this Pangu Banner. You can use it to suppress the fortune."

As he spoke, Hongjun Daozu took out the Pangu Banner and handed it to Yuanshi. The Pangu Banner swayed slightly, and it seemed as if countless streams of chaotic energy were being released, emitting an extremely fierce and sharp aura.

However, this is because the Pangu Banner was transformed from the blade of the Heaven-Opening Axe, making it the most powerful of the three Heaven-Opening Treasures in terms of attack.

Upon receiving the ancient banner, Yuanshi was overjoyed and was about to express his gratitude to Hongjun, the Dao Ancestor.

Hongjun Daozu then took out a piece of auspicious cloud and gave it to him, saying, "This is the Auspicious Cloud of the Heavens. When you place it on your head, all evil will avoid you and all magic will not touch you. Although the Pangu Banner is extremely powerful in attack, it lacks defense. This Auspicious Cloud of the Heavens will protect you."

Yuanshi beamed with joy, took the Pangu Banner and the auspicious clouds of the heavens, and bowed in gratitude, saying, "Disciple thanks Master for his kindness."

Then he returned to his own prayer mat and sat down.

When it was Tongtian's turn, Hongjun Daozu said, "Tongtian, although you are also transformed from the primordial spirit of Pangu, you are resolute and unyielding. I will give you the Four Swords of Zhuxian and the array diagram."

After saying this, Hongjun Daozu took out an object, which was a diagram containing four swords, and handed it to Tongtian.

Tongtian was somewhat disappointed, but he still accepted it and bowed to Hongjun Daozu, saying, "Disciple thanks Master."

Hongjun Daozu shook his head and said, "Don't look down on these four swords of Zhuxian. These four swords are all extremely fierce objects, weapons of slaughter. When combined with the array diagram, they can form the Zhuxian Sword Array, which is difficult for even a saint to break. Therefore, their power is indeed no less than that of innate supreme treasures."

"Now that you have obtained this treasure, remember not to use it lightly, but with caution."

Upon hearing this, Tongtian's eyes lit up, and he quickly bowed again, saying, "Thank you for your teachings, Master. I understand."

Just as he was about to turn and leave, Hongjun Daozu pointed his finger and another longevity lock appeared on Tongtian's neck.

The Dao Ancestor said, "This is the Heart-Piercing Lock, a top-grade innate spiritual treasure. I'll also give it to you for protection."

Tongtian was overjoyed, thanked the Dao Ancestor, and then returned to his meditation cushion to sit down.

Seeing that the Three Pure Ones had all obtained supreme treasures, the crowd's feelings were no longer simply filled with envy and jealousy.

Instead, they were almost numb.

The Taiji Diagram and the Pangu Banner are both innate treasures, and even the Four Swords of Zhuxian, when used in conjunction with the array diagram, possess power no less than that of a treasure.

Why are these saints and Taoist ancestors so rich? And what's most infuriating is that all these treasures are bestowed upon their disciples, not on themselves.

Upon hearing this, Hongjun Daozu nodded and said, "Zhen Yuanzi, you attained the Dao from the essence of the primordial Wu Earth. These two things are destined for you, so I will bestow them upon you for protection."
