Gao Wu: After transforming into a soft girl, I became a calamity?
Chapter 447 Author's Closing Remarks
Thank you all for your support along the way for this book to reach the end!
The ending was actually written rather hastily; many things that I wanted to develop were left unexplored, and many details were glossed over.
After all, this was the first time the author had written a complete story, and there was still a sense of disorientation and regret at the end.
Due to insufficient accumulation, I couldn't support my writing strength towards the end, and it felt increasingly difficult and verbose as I wrote.
Although I knew where to start writing, I just didn't know where to begin, so it looked very awkward. In the later stages, it became even more indescribable. I could only try my best to make it perfect and avoid making things difficult.
Actually, my poor condition later on was mainly due to physical reasons.
The author himself is not in very good health; he has no major illnesses, but he suffers from a constant stream of minor ailments.
Furthermore, because I scheduled my writing time from evening to early morning, it was fine for short periods, but after more than half a year, my mental state visibly declined.
In addition, frequent insomnia has also affected my memory.
There may be many unfilled plot holes. If you find any, please let me know, and I will fill them in through a backup.
Another factor is mindset.
Because the book did perform quite well, it received all sorts of reviews, including a fair amount of personal attacks using the theme of "marriage swapping," which inevitably had an impact.
One of the most memorable moments for the author was on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, when someone sent greetings to the author's family through the backstage.
I was really upset at the time, but after looking into those people's backstage accounts, I felt relieved.
Because of this, the author rarely reads comments or messages, and sometimes cannot reply to questions in a timely manner.
Here, the author must apologize to everyone.
Closer to home.
As readers familiar with the author know, this is the author's second book.
The first book was published last September. Because it only earned a few dollars a day, the results were not very good. The idea for this book was written when I was working on that book.
However, due to limited energy, the writing was rather rudimentary and rushed, and the original outline could only support a maximum of 70 words.
So later on, especially after the data came in, there was always this fear and that fear, and all the problems came to light.
For example, the writing style has a strange stiffness, which is far less smooth than the 144 Base City arc; the characters are thinly developed, appearing only a few times and then disappearing without a trace; other key figures become mere decorations; the romance progresses too quickly; the transitions are too abrupt; the two storylines are unbalanced, and so on.
Many of the issues have already been addressed in the book reviews, so I won't list them all here.
Let's focus on the relationship storyline.
The romance in the previous book actually took a shortcut, taking advantage of the fact that the male and female protagonists knew each other before they transmigrated. The author had read a lot of books of this type before.
With this book, the author truly "started from scratch," writing about romance for the first time in a proper way, which inevitably resulted in some stiff and unnatural parts.
The transition from accepting the relationship to confessing their feelings was especially rapid.
According to the original outline, this part should actually be much later, at least until after the underground city war, when Base 7 is just a transitional phase to make Mianmian stronger.
It can only be said that the author acted impulsively and was carried away by emotions.
However, it must be said that in the early stages of the book's release, the author was indeed somewhat emotional, and his condition was indeed quite good.
As the initial passion fades, one becomes powerless to address the subsequent problems.
In the end, they became hesitant and timid, focusing solely on a smooth landing, resulting in a much more mundane and even somewhat boring plot than before.
In short, the author will carefully refine the outline for the next book, proceeding with utmost caution.
The setting for the new book is starting to take shape. The specific world view may refer to the style of a certain hammer, and it will still stick to the theme of marriage.
However, the author needs some time to adjust and, incidentally, to lay low for a while.
If you have any good ideas, please feel free to discuss them!
Thanks again!
