Zombie Marvel? Luckily, I'm Superman!

Chapter 60 Want a daughter? Go have one yourself!

"Lin, thank you for everything you've done. From the time travel project until now, you've done far more than any of us expected." Steve wisely refrained from asking about Morgan's situation and instead offered a heartfelt expression of gratitude.

Lin Yi was somewhat surprised: "Why are you saying all this? I'm just trying to live a peaceful life in the future."

Why is Steve suddenly speaking in official jargon?

Steve hummed in agreement, not continuing the topic, and instead said, "However, from what you're saying, the cosmic virus is only isolated, which means we still have a long way to go in the future..."

"That's right," Lin Yi nodded. "The cosmic virus is only a temporary isolation, and so far only Earth has recovered."

"We've only found a temporary solution; as for a complete solution, this matter is far from over..."

Steve's eyes darkened for a moment, then were quickly replaced by his signature confidence: "It's okay. As long as we're together, no matter how difficult it is, we'll always find a way."

This confidence... Lin Yi found it hard to judge, and wondered where it came from.

After Steve finished speaking, he led the way towards the temporary housing: "Let's rest for an hour first, then meet in the conference room to summarize and discuss how to deal with the future, okay?"

Lin Yi naturally had no objections. The current situation could be described as one problem after another, and it was indeed necessary to sit down and sort things out.

It was tough on Tony, a mere mortal who had originally planned to rest.

Back in his temporary room, Lin Yi found it simple but complete with everything he needed, including a fairly large bathtub, which he had requested so he could relax with a bath.

As the hot water flowed over her neck, Lin Yi let out a comfortable sigh.

Superman doesn't get tired? That's not Superman, that's a perpetual motion machine. Lin Yi is far from being a perpetual motion machine Superman.

I'm not physically that tired, it's mainly mentally exhausted.

Fortunately, a hot bath can heal his weary soul!

An hour later, Lin Yi, having washed away most of his fatigue, brought Strange and Spider-Man to the conference room.

The meeting room was fairly well attended: Natasha, Banner, Clint, Steve, Scott, Carol, Raccoon, and Rhodey—basically everyone who was supposed to be there.

Tony was also there, and when he saw Lin Yi coming over, his eyes were somewhat unfriendly.

"Hehe." Lin Yi casually sat down next to Tony. "How's it going? Over with the family meeting? Got everything sorted out?"

Tony rolled his eyes at him.

"Say something," Lin Yi said cheerfully, nudging Tony.

"You from another universe said that if you're not willing to accept Morgan, I can raise him."

Tony rolled his eyes again and said irritably, "Don't bother with that. If you want a daughter, have one yourself."

"Hehe, it's still early. Speaking of which, have you thought about this: since they're both Morgan, how will we differentiate them through their names?"

"Morgan One, Morgan Two?"

"Do you want me to get beaten up by Pepper?" Tony didn't want to get into the conversation at all.

"So how will you call out? Do you have a solution?"

"No." Tony shook his head decisively. "For now, let's follow Pepper's suggestion and try to avoid calling each other by name when we're together."

If they really can't be separated, then we'll have to use Big and Little.

Changing the name wasn't Tony's idea, nor was it appropriate. Besides, he hadn't confirmed whether Morgan would stay permanently; he needed to confirm with Lin Yi before making any further arrangements.

The two joked in hushed tones for a while, and then the meeting room gradually quieted down, and the atmosphere became more serious.

Steve stood up and said a few polite words, and then Lin Yi took over.

Lin Yi began to recount his experiences with Strange and Spider-Man along the way.

Returning the gems, conversing with the Ancient One, and then stepping into another surviving universe.

As Lin Yi spoke, everyone's brows furrowed.

When they heard that it was the only universe that had survived the cosmic virus, everyone's hearts sank.

Surrounded by unknown gazes, the terrifying speculations of the Celestials, and the threat of attacks from the aberrant beings, everyone's brows furrowed deeper and deeper.

Lin Yi also talked about most of the matter concerning the other Tony from another universe, since the technology they were using was provided by the Tony from that other universe. Moreover, Morgan was also brought along, so there needed to be an explanation.

He did not disclose any information about quantum humans.

"To summarize, the current situation is that the crisis has been temporarily isolated outside of Earth, but the entire universe is still heading towards destruction. We have bought some time, but the problem is far from being solved."

A silence fell over the conference room as everyone processed the massive and weighty information. The immediate threat seemed to have been averted, but looking towards the universe and the future, the outlook appeared even bleaker.

"I have a question," Carroll said, breaking the silence.

"If isolation devices can be mass-produced, perhaps we can save more life-bearing planets."

In the movie, Carol is portrayed as someone who, due to her own experiences, spends many years traveling through the universe to help other races.

In this situation, her first reaction was to provide as much help as possible.

Tony snapped his fingers twice: "A good suggestion, Madam Savior. But it's unlikely to come to fruition."

"Why?" Carroll countered. "Is there a technical difficulty?"

Rocket shook his head and interjected, "We have ready-made samples and complete technical data. Unless there are some particularly rare material limitations, mass production is entirely possible."

"Little Mustache must have other concerns, am I right?"

"A clever little animal," Tony confirmed Rocket's guess.

"There are several reasons. First, as Lin Yi mentioned, there are a lot of eyes watching us from outside the blue planet of that surviving universe. I'm not sure if there are similar things watching us in our universe, and I'm even less sure when these eyes will appear, or when a bunch of anomalies will emerge."

"In this situation, it would be extremely dangerous to expose our technology and operations on a large scale."

"Second," Tony pulled up some data and projected it onto the conference room screen, "According to the information Lin Yi brought back, and our analysis, life forms that have been eroded by the cosmic virus for too long, or those that have mutated to an excessive degree after being eroded, cannot be restored through isolation devices; they are now complete monsters."

"We currently lack the capacity and time to determine whether other planets or races are still salvageable."

"Third, and most importantly," Tony said, looking around at everyone, his tone becoming even more somber, "our resources are limited, our time is limited, and we must concentrate our efforts. Our primary task is to ensure that Earth fully returns to normal, to reintegrate those who have disappeared for five years into society, to monitor for any irreversible mutations, and to continuously optimize and back up the isolation devices."

"So, we don't have the time or the energy, understand?"

Tony finally looked at Carol: "I'm not against contributing to the universe, but the prerequisite is that our own home must be secured first. By the time we have enough capacity and resources to consider other planets, it might be... too late."

Carol couldn't argue with Tony, and she even felt that Tony was absolutely right, but she still couldn't let go of those poor races: "Tony, we can try to gather more strength, after all, those civilizations are lives too..."

"You're right," Tony interrupted her, his tone softening. "I'm not against saving other lives. I can give you some isolation equipment, of course, only if there's a surplus. That's the limit of what I can do at this stage."

"After all, don't forget, besides dealing with these, we have another enemy." Tony reached out and tapped the screen, and the image immediately changed.

The scene shows Tony and his two companions encountering the Time Bureau in the Quantum Realm.
