Zombie Marvel? Luckily, I'm Superman!

Chapter 51: Pepper's Confusion, Two Morgans?

"Fuck!" Deadpool Wade screamed, then poked wildly at Strange with his finger.

"You know magic, it's all your fault!"

"I knew I should have gone to their universe and waited there. Look at you, Cloak Baby, your assurances are as reliable as the disclaimer on a pizza coupon!"

As he spoke, he sniffed around like a dog, then knelt down with his hands on his head: "It's over, I can't even track down the smell of a fart anymore, you're too late again~"

"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up and get your crappy equipment out. Once they're back on the correct timeline, things shouldn't change anymore." Wolverine Logan stepped forward and kicked Wade, clearly disgusted.

Wade stood up like a spring, his white eyes wide open behind his mask.

"Wow, how did you know I had one hidden away? Do you have X-ray vision?" He leaned closer to Logan, tilting his head to examine him. "You haven't been secretly looking at my panties the whole way here, have you?"

Logan's temple throbbed as he struggled to suppress the urge to slap him: "Do you even want the universe to return to normal?"

"Fine, fine, you win—" Vedra said in a drawn-out voice, his hand reaching into his private parts and groping around until he pulled out a suspicious, square device that was sparking.

He kissed her through the mask: "Little darling, hang in there a little longer, don't blow up halfway through!"

……

hum!

After removing their nano-suits, Lin Yi and the others returned to the timeline of 2023.

The overwhelming atmosphere was one of slight oppression.

The planet is exactly as it was when we set out. Various alarms are constantly sounding through various channels. Under the rampant spread of the cosmic virus, the planet is filled with painful groans and the violent roars of humans who have turned into monsters.

"You're back!" Natasha's voice rang out. She had been standing guard beside the shuttle platform.

It's actually not long, only about 10 seconds.

"This is... OMG, this is Morgan?"

"Aunt Natasha~" Morgan greeted her politely.

Natasha responded blankly, looking at Morgan, who was half a head taller than her, and cast an incredulous questioning glance at Lin Yi.

"Phew." Lin Yi exhaled and looked to the side.

"It seems Mr. Stark and the others haven't returned," Peter said.

Lin Yi also noticed.

The wristband is set to return to ten seconds in the future, meaning that no matter how long people are away, only ten seconds will have passed when they return to the future.

But now only Lin Yi and the others have returned, which gives him a slightly ominous feeling.

Hopefully, nothing too serious will happen.

"Let Peter and Strange explain it to you, I have other things to do." Lin Yi greeted Natasha, then nodded to Strange.

"I'll go and deploy the cosmic virus isolation device first, is that alright?" Strange, of course, had no problem at all.

After arranging for several people, Lin Yi used his super vision to survey the area and was relieved to find that nothing unexpected had happened at the base during this time.

That's true, it's only ten seconds, what could possibly happen?

Tony's matter can only be put on hold for a while. What Lin Yi needs to do now is to upload the isolation technology of the cosmic virus to Stark's server, and then deploy the finished product first, so that Earth can return to normal as soon as possible.

"Morgan, come with me." Lin Yi took Morgan with him when he left.

Pepper Potts was currently in the makeshift communications room that Tony had assembled. Although the equipment here wasn't as sophisticated as at home, it was the only place nearby where data could be uploaded to Stark's servers.

Morgan was brought along because super vision had already spotted Pepper here.

In the communications room, Pepper sat beside the testing bed. On the testing bed lay Morgan, fast asleep.

She touched the dark purple markings on Morgan's body with heartache and let out a sigh.

Tony told Jarvis not to tell her, but with something this serious happening, and Morgan being brought here, how could she not find out?

After five years of peaceful life, she gradually put aside her work and regarded Tony and Morgan as everything.

Now one is adventuring out there, and the other is lying in bed. She can't help at all, and no one knows how much pain she's in.

Her worries about Tony and her heartache for her daughter left her breathless. She pushed open the door to go out for some fresh air and to see if there was any new information.

As soon as she stepped out the door, she bumped into Lin Yi.

"Lin?!" Pepper was taken aback, then her face lit up with joy.

"You're back? Did you succeed? Where's Tony? He..."

She paused, staring blankly at the small figure that had emerged from behind Lin Yi.

"Morgan... Morgan?"

She gasped in disbelief, covered her mouth, and instinctively looked into the room.

"Oh my God..."

Yes, Morgan is lying in bed, and this... is clearly Morgan too! What's going on?

Are you too tired? Are you hallucinating?

Pepper wondered if she was dreaming, but the next second, the small figure rushed into her arms.

"Mommy!"

Morgan yelled and lunged at Pepper, hugging her tightly.

The real touch and the familiar "mommy" told Pepper that this was not a dream.

In a flurry of activity, Pepper instinctively crouched down. Morgan buried his face in her shoulder and burst into tears.

Hearing Morgan calling "mommy" repeatedly, Pepper felt a pang of heartache and tenderly took out a handkerchief to wipe away her tears.

"Alright, alright, Mommy's here, it's okay, don't be afraid." Although Pepper didn't know what had happened, her maternal instincts led her to offer comfort before she could even think.

"Mommy..." Morgan buried her face in Pepper's arms, unwilling to let go for a long time.

The familiar face, the familiar voice—if it weren't for the difference in height and the fact that another Morgan was lying in the room, Pepper probably wouldn't have been able to tell them apart.

Morgan in her arms was crying very sadly, her whole body trembling slightly. She didn't know what she had been through, but Pepper couldn't help but feel a lump in her throat.

Pepper hugged her, patting her back tenderly, then looked at Lin Yi with a questioning look in her eyes.

Lin Yi touched his nose, feeling that it was a bit difficult to explain.

"She is Morgan..."

Pepper's expression was indescribable.

Lin Yi also felt that he might have said something pointless.

Looking at Morgan in Pepper's arms, Lin Yi thought for a moment, tapped his temple, and spoke directly into Pepper's mind.

"She is Morgan from another universe, a universe with similar experiences to ours. The Morgan before you is seven years old now. When she was five, you from that other universe died trying to save her..."

"I'll explain when Tony gets back. On this trip, we obtained a cosmic virus... oh, you know, that kind of isolation technology with black and purple patterns. I need to upload and deploy it as soon as possible."

"Could you take care of Morgan for me for now?"

The reason for choosing to read the words aloud instead of saying them directly was that saying them again would be tantamount to stabbing Morgan in the back.

After listening to Lin Yi's explanation and processing all the information, Morgan felt even more distressed because of Lin Yi's sobbing.
