Chapter 41: Is the Cosmic Virus Related to the Celestials?

Lin Yi raised his eyelids slightly.

"If you know anything, just say it. I can guarantee that today's conversation will only take place in this room, and no information will leak out."

"I know you're here for help, and we need to exchange information, don't we?"

Lin Yi shook his head: "You misunderstood. I hesitated... because I wasn't sure if this thing was the same as what I knew."

"Tell me first," Tony said noncommittally.

"This outfit reminds me of a race—the Celestials."

"The Celestials?" Tony looked up, and Jarvis's message came through quickly: "Sir, we compared the data with the database we obtained before the StarNet was disconnected, and this race does exist, but we have no other information."

A cosmic catastrophe erupts, and with the help of a rocket, Tony downloads a portion of StarNet's database from before its destruction.

Lin Yi continued, "As I understand it, the Celestials existed even before the Infinity Stones."

"These are enormous life forms with near-infinite power and knowledge."

"This race conducts seeding experiments on planets throughout the universe to observe the evolution of life."

"On Earth, there are the Eternals they created, and the X-gene of mutants was also brought by them."

"But this is just information I obtained through special channels, and its authenticity... cannot be verified."

"The only certainty is that the Celestial Race truly exists. But whether that's related to this matter is unknown."

This information came from settings Lin Yi had seen before, from comics and movies.

But reality has already taught Lin Yi that he cannot understand this universe entirely according to the established rules, or he will be taught a harsh lesson.

Therefore, Lin Yi hesitated on this point, fearing that he might give Tony the wrong information.

"Jarvis, record the information Lin Yi said and load it into an unnamed file."

"Lin, do the Eternals you mentioned have any other characteristics?" Tony continued to ask.

Lin Yi thought for a moment: "I haven't had any contact with them, but I heard that the Celestial Race conducted genetic experiments on early Homo sapiens. I won't mention one of the uncertain products, but the other two are the Eternals and the Abnormal Ones."

"The Abnormal Ones are unstable, deformed monsters that are hostile to the Eternals."

"Eternals generally have long lifespans, and they possess strength far exceeding that of humans. At least several times that of Steve."

Of course, Steve has the movie halo effect, so the 50/50 situation can only be considered a special variable.

"Oh right, most Eternals use energy manipulation for attacks, and some also possess the abilities of matter transformation and telepathy."

The background story of the Eternal Clan in the movie was slightly modified. Lin Yi wasn't very interested in it before he traveled through time, and he hadn't even seen a movie about the Eternal Clan, so this was all the information he could provide.

Bang! Tony stood up, veins bulging on his forehead, his face showing an "I see" expression, which startled Lin Yi.

"I see. If that's the case, then it makes sense. Those monsters are the abnormal ones!"

"Those canned goods are from the Celestials. They brought the cosmic virus; they're using the universe, using Earth as experimental subjects, as nourishment! As nourishment to create monsters in their experiments!"

"Yes, I've had similar thoughts for a while now. It makes sense, it's correct..."

Tony was muttering to himself, almost obsessively, so Lin Yi quickly stepped forward to remind him.

"Tony, I'll emphasize again, the veracity of this information is unverifiable, don't be misled!"

After taking several deep breaths, Tony gradually calmed down and nodded heavily.

"I understand, but the information you provided is highly likely and perfectly consistent with the preceding and following logic."

"Whether it's true or not, we have to treat it as a fact and prepare for the worst."

"Jarvis, record the characteristics of the Eternals and Celestials, and search for beings with similarities in all historical records."

"By the way, add the race name to all monster codenames: Abnormal Beings."

Jarvis reacted quickly, completing the file creation in a second.

"Sir, the files have been reorganized as requested, and relevant target information has been searched in all files, including but not limited to historical files."

After exchanging commands, Jarvis fell silent, focusing all his efforts on searching for the information Lin Yi had provided. The atmosphere in the room returned to calm.

"Alright, now that you've finished telling me your story, let me tell you mine."

At this point, the two had completely entered the stage of a showdown.

"I need isolation technology for cosmic viruses."

"I don't know if our region was also infected with the cosmic virus because of this so-called Celestial Race. But regardless, I want to restore the universe to its original state as soon as possible," Lin Yi stated his purpose directly.

"You probably can't sense that countless eyes are watching Earth from outside."

"No, I can't sense it, but I know it." Tony's words startled Lin Yi.

"Do you have precognitive abilities, or superpowers?"

"I didn't. This is what the Ancient One told me." Tony shook his head, revealing a piece of information that hadn't been mentioned before.

Why would the Ancient One tell Tony? Shouldn't it have been Strange who told him?

Lin Yi raised this question and received an unexpected answer.

"Strange is gone. Those monsters... the Deviants, are probably more powerful than you currently imagine."

"As for those perspectives, that's why I say they're using Earth, and even the entire universe, as test subjects."

"At first, I thought this so-called cosmic virus only affected Earth, but the rocket told me that the cosmic virus has covered all life-bearing planets and races that can be contacted."

"Shortly after that, the StarNet connecting cosmic life forms completely collapsed, and I was able to intercept a portion of the data stream before it was finally shut down."

"I know what you mean. This matter is very likely not just the work of the Celestials, as some have speculated. There might even be other cosmic races involved, right?!"

Tony's eyes shone with wisdom; he felt he had reached the threshold of the truth.

But everything in front of the door had already exhausted him. After opening this door, there was the master of the abnormal. They couldn't even deal with the abnormal, so how could they deal with this master?

Tony leaned forward slightly: "I can give you the isolation technology you want, or even the most advanced equipment."

"But I need you to meet one condition!"

Lin Yi's gaze sharpened, and he said in a deep voice, "You speak."

"I need to……"

Before he could finish speaking, the entire room suddenly flashed red lights, followed by a piercing alarm.

"Sir, heat source information detected from anomalies No. 78 and No. 79 (formerly Twin Bone Blade Monsters No. 78 and 79)! No. 78 is currently re-entering the atmosphere."

Boom!

Whoosh!

Tony suddenly stood up, his eyes flashing with hatred, his whole body trembling slightly with rage.

"Holy crap, why are you suddenly so excited?" Lin Yi quickly took two steps back.

According to Tony, this isn't the first time the Deviants have attacked Earth. Why is he so agitated? Could it be...?

"Synchronize coordinates!" Tony gritted his teeth, his scarlet eyes turning to Lin Yi.

"Anomalies 78 and 79 were two monsters that looked almost identical. Pepper was the one who rescued Morgan from their attack, but that injury also led to Pepper's permanent departure..."
