Chapter 203 Morgan's Choice
[Energy Blade Base Damaged, High-Energy Shuttle Weapon Detected!] Jarvis's voice continued, and the Anti-Celestial Race suit's thrusters were fully activated, its powerful mobility propelling the suit backward rapidly.
At the same moment, a jet-black blade, hidden in the cosmic background, extended its claws and blocked the floating energy blade on its return journey.
The explosion lit up the sky, and when the floating blades returned to Morgan's side, only three remained.
A sneak attack! A new enemy has appeared!
Morgan instantly understood. He gritted his teeth and continued to retreat, retreating all the way to a relatively safe distance.
The attacker has now revealed his full identity.
The humanoid figure was dressed in a black, form-fitting suit of armor, completely covered from head to toe. It had long silver hair and a grotesque black mask with a gaping, gaping mouth.
He held a slender black sword in his hand, the very weapon that had just shattered her star unit and light wing base.
A hint of apprehension appeared in Morgan's eyes.
The metal used in the Star Unit, a crucial auxiliary supply system, is the hardest material among all the Celestial Clan's battle suit equipment. Theoretically, it can withstand terrifyingly high levels of energy impact.
Yet this very material couldn't withstand a single sword strike from the opponent?
"Jarvis..." Morgan gazed intently at the Celestials and the unknown attackers who had gathered in the distance. They stared back at Morgan across the space, and a sense of oppression descended silently.
[Detection and analysis in progress...] Jarvis quickly accessed data he had collected in other parallel universes, data from many worlds on the verge of destruction.
[Relevant information is very scarce, Ms. Morgan, but the attacker's attire matches a legend we've heard in a universe.]
[Nar, that's his name, but I'm not entirely sure because the match isn't very strong...]
With that, Jarvis released all the information related to Nar.
Nar's name comes from a legend that Tony heard from the last remaining life forms on a desolate, inhabited planet.
Legend has it that a being named Nar created a race that would destroy the universe.
Those sludge-like, dark armies, resembling swampy mud, can reside within various life forms, altering their forms and replicating their abilities. They are called symbiotes. And Nar is their creator.
His attire and weapons match the legends to some extent, but in those legends, Nal and the Celestials were enemies.
"Not surprising. There are no permanent enemies, are there? Jarvis." Morgan's tone was calm, but his heart rate never slowed down.
One enemy was enough to keep her going, but now there are two, one of whom, who looks like Nar, has an incredibly sharp weapon.
Jarvis had marked the slender black sword in red on his visor. The power displayed by that last strike made Morgan realize that he couldn't let it hit his suit, not even once.
"Morgan!"
As I pondered, I heard Tony's stern voice.
Morgan was invigorated.
"Morgan, retreat." The stern Tony was exceptionally decisive, his tone carrying an unquestionable resolve.
Morgan paused, then gritted his teeth and said, "We can't back down, Dad."
"Listen to me! Retreat! The Star Unit and Lightwing Base Station have been destroyed, and the other weapon systems on the suits are insufficient to seriously injure the Celestials."
"If the opposing side only consists of the Celestials, there's still a sliver of hope. If we don't retreat now, there will be no tomorrow!"
Tony's voice was calm, but he spoke much faster than usual.
Morgan's eyes drooped, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a planet shimmering with a bluish-white light.
If it weren't for the Blue Star behind her, Morgan would have already chosen to run away. With her skills and combat abilities, her chances against two enemies were slim.
But behind us lies the blue planet, how can we retreat? We can't retreat.
Must we continue our endless life of fleeing, just like before? Fleeing from one universe to another, from one destruction to another?
They may have a tomorrow, but what about little Morgan? What about Uncle Tony?
The stern Tony listened to the silence mixed with panting on the communicator and sighed inwardly.
As expected, Morgan's kindness led her to make the choice she had anticipated; she knew she shouldn't let Morgan get involved in matters of the heart.
From Morgan's childhood, he had always played the role of a cold and serious father.
Coldness and unemotionality were the main themes he created for Morgan.
The primary goal was to make Morgan an absolutely calm and rational individual, free from any emotional entanglements in the future, thus avoiding any problems arising from acting on impulse.
Yes, that's exactly the situation right now.
He understood that Morgan had most likely made this choice because of Little Morgan and the friends she had made. If she really turned and left, the consequences for Blue Star and them were predictable.
Throughout his previous cosmic journeys, Tony had never taken Morgan to Earth. Earth had been destroyed in those universes, either due to cosmic wars or other reasons.
In every universe they visited, they faced countless dangers, which he guessed might be related to their fate.
In this universe, Tony hesitated for a long time before finally relenting and allowing Morgan to begin exploring matters of friendship. He understood that he couldn't protect Morgan forever.
One day in the future, when I am no longer by her side, she will inevitably come into contact with these things, and I cannot control her forever.
You see, this is exactly the scenario Tony didn't want to see.
But he didn't blame Morgan in his heart. After all, emotions are something no one can truly understand. If it were his own Blue Star in the universe, he would also choose to protect it rather than run away.
But the assumptions aren't the problem. The problem is that even if Morgan were wearing his intact Anti-Celestial armor, he wouldn't be able to defeat these two, let alone with two of his most important external attack devices destroyed.
Tony stopped pressuring Morgan to retreat, since Morgan was now synced with the Celestial suit. Tony simply quietly activated the shuttle stationed on Earth, directing it to Morgan's location.
Once the Anti-Celestial Clan's battle suits were taken offline, he immediately took Morgan and quickly moved away...
In the silence, the Celestials and Nal launched another attack.
The energy circuits on the Anti-Celestial Race's battle suit suddenly changed color, and the auxiliary system intervened, cooperating with Morgan's consciousness to fiercely engage in battle.
Wielding an energy blade, the thermal weapon system mounted on his combat suit rapidly deployed. Gleaming cold light, bullets and locking units, symbols of slaughter, emerged one by one.
Open fire!
Countless miniature missiles, trailing trails of flame, hurtled towards the Celestials and Nar. The floating energy blades were reactivated, but their combat style became much more conservative, since only three remained.
